Works well, easy setup

Wanted to eliminate the cable co's modem rental fee. I have digital phone through them so I had to use a splitter, but they don't charge the rental fee if ALL you use their modem for is phone service.
I had an old splitter & cables just lying around, but they worked perfectly. So now I have their modem and this Arris modem running through the splitter, with my router running off the Arris.
I should mention that I initally bought a Netgear modem-router combo and returned it due to serious lack of signal strength. This setup with the Arris modem and my old router (also a Netgear) reaches every part of my house, even two floors away.

This replaces an older model TomTom, so I'm familiar with the basic operation. I like the lifetime maps and inclusion of Canada, which is essential for my part of the US. However, the old interface permitted me to fully operate my device through the computer, which I've found impossible to do with this one. Too bad, because the older system made it easy to try out alternate routes and options easily without going outdoors to get a GPS connection. All I can do with this one is get a destination and one route. With the old TomTom Home, I could play around with all the options and alternates just as if the device were operating in the car.

Very crisp HD display and a large screen. This is much lighter than other 17" laptops I've used & therefore is reasonably portable. I do face-to-face counseling & presentations & it's nice to be able to compare documents side-by-side on one screen when the client is sitting next to you.
The speed is reasonably fast, although I would have liked 8 GB RAM or more, but that's still an option I can add later if I really need to.
Haven't used the HDMI yet, have to get a cable.
It runs pretty cool for a laptop -- haven't seen much over 90F yet, even while downloading all my old apps and documents from backups. (My old HP topped out at over 150F under normal use a few times before the motherboard burned out.)

Working well so far

Was reluctant because of no center agitator, but seems to be washing sufficiently so far. Only negative is that the drain hose is on wrong side for our laundry sink setup & there was no way to tell this in the store. The supplied hose is too short to reach our sink without installing the washer cockeyed and taking up twice as much space as it ought to. I could buy a drain hose extension or a 3d-party hose, or pay someone to rerun electrical lines for a new outlet so I can completely relocate the machine, but I've spent enough on this already. Just check your setup at home before you commit to buying this.

Bought this specifically to connect to website testing sites that I've been doing for a while. This cam doesn't seem to want to connect to them, meaning they don't recognize it when I sign in. Not sure if it's the cam, the software, or something else. Have emailed the sites I deal with & am waiting for help from them. I can't either recommend or condemn this until I get more info.
