I bought this for my grandson and, at the price, we bought 2 more; another one for my house and a friend bought one.
I am used to streaming through Bluray players and I must say the Roku in this TV is a better interface. So now his player is just for discs.
And the picture is as good as my other, far more expensive, TVs.

My wife already had a smaller 7in tablet, and now that our grandson is older we decided to get him (and me) a larger tablet. Mainly to stream video but also for his games, educational and otherwise.
I also like the ability of being able to download movies from sources such as Amazon and Vudu, that we can watch while while we are away from wi-fi, like on long trips.

I have been streaming content over a Sony Bluray player for over 5 years now, am even up to 3, living room and 2 bedrooms, but even the newest one doesn't have all of the apps the Firestick has.
Mainly HBOgo and Acorn.
And it's very easy to use once it's connected to your wi-fi.
And does JUST what it says: turns a dumb TV into a smart TV simpy by plugging into the TV's USB port.
I recommend it, especially if you don't already have a streaming pkayer.

Worth the extra money!

When we got rid of cable we wanted one of these new 'digital' antennas to pick up some local stations we wanted.
I tried the cheapest they made, the $12-15 range one and, though it got about 15 channels, it did not get the 2 main ones my wife wanted: the station with our favorite news and Georgia Public Broadcasting, which has all the BBC stuff my wife loves.
So I took it back and got this more expensive one.
And it worked! In addition to getting the 2 above mentioned channels, overall it gets 25-28 channels, rather than the 12-15 the cheap one got.

Not much to add, if you buy this movie you know what you're getting.
As many have noticed, while being very entertaining, this was such a blatant attempt to re-create the 'magic' of the original 77 movie that it shows in every second it's on the screen.
But there's more than enough there to make one look foward to the next movie!

While not quite up there with War of the Worlds or the recent Edge of Tomorrow; Live Die Repeat (outstanding! ) Oblivion is definitely worth a viewing.

The Audio output is fiber optic and I use it to send audio out to drive a little stereo, and the stereo has a headphone jack.
And use a wireless pair of headphones whose base plugs into that headphone jack.You might be able to find reasonably priced pair of wireless headphones that take a fiber optic input and there might also be a converter that changes the figeroptic to analog audio. But the short answer is no, the regular audio plug of most headphones won't plug into a fiber optic output.

No. I have watched Netflix, Hulu and Amazon Instant through a streaming Bluray player for over 5 years with no problems.
If your Smart TV has those apps, you should be able to watch them.
The wife and I bought this Firestick mainly for several apps it has that even the newest Bluray player, bought just this past Christmas, doesn't have.
Like Acorn, BBC stuff my wife loves, and a lot of it not available anywhere else.

Can you watch regular T.V. with the Firestick? Does it have a built in antenna or how do you watch regular channels fox five, cbs, abc, etc.????
It does not have an antenna to pick up local channels (but that only cost me an additional $30 and works GREAT) but it does have apps for all the motor networks.
The problem is some of them are free and some you have to subscribe to.
I don't watch it near as much as my wife does so can't give more detail than that, such as which are free vs. cost.
But, considering I got my Firestick on sale, it was DEFINITELY worth what I paid.

All you have to do is click on the specifications tab on the product description page to confirm, yes, it is in - wall rated.
And it definitely matters, you do not want to put cheap wire, with poor heat dissipation, in a sheetrock wall.

Neither, VERY fine braided copper strands, almost like grabbing a girl's ponytail. So I guess, yeah, solid, but very fine and very small.
