Another overblown rock opera

I have always liked Dream Theater the progressive metal band more the Dream Theater the 'let's go write an overblown rock opera and impress everyone' band.
And this is the most overblown yet. The 'let's try to top ourselves' desperation seeps through every second.
While the talent of this band is undeniable it's over 2 hours and I started getting bored after 45 minutes.
I would only recommend this to Dream Theater superfan completists, NOT as a starting point.
They have better albums. Even this line-up, with new(er) drummer Mike Mangini, has a better one; A Dramatic Turn of Events, the first one with Mangini.

What was so surprising is the cast. While the other movies were entertaining, using the same core cast got old.
And it's amazing how much the SFX have evolved in the last 20 years! The REAL stars of the movie never looked better.
Overall an entertaining movie, even if you can see the end coming from a mile away.

Blu-ray/DVD/Digital. John Connor finally has the sentient computer system Skynet at bay. He decides to order his lieutenant, Kyle Reese, on a journey through time back to his mother's childhood, to protect her from the Terminators and ensure that John Connor won't be retconned out of existence. Upon arriving in the past, however, Kyle is in for a serious shock. Sarah Connor is an orphan, her own mother dead at the hands of a Terminator. The best thing I like about this movie is the very clever way they tweaked SO many of our favorite scenes and tweaked them for a newly entertaining movie. Good cast, especially A Game of Thrones' Amelia Clarke. Always nice to watch her work, but she was a surprisingly good Sarah Conner as well.

Don't be tricked into paying too much for wire

Yes, I had some fancy Monster Wire as big as my forearm between my hi-current main amp and my main speakers.
But, when I ran some new baseboards with my new floor I hooked them up temporarily with cheap wire. And guess what, I didn't hear THAT much of a difference.
So I decided I didn't really need to pay the absurdly ridiculous prices Monster wants. I bought this, and it works JUST FINE.
Yes you do need good wire for hi-power and quality speakers, but unless you have a thousand watts and speakers that cost 10grand, you don't need wire than costs $150 for 50 feet.

No matter what they tell you, you do NOT need fancy expensive wire for all applications. I bought this for rear speakers in 2 different rooms and it works just fine.
Hides quite neatly under 1/4 round baseboard too, with room for multiple wires.

Nothing to add to the movie, if you're buying this you probably already know about it and Chris Nolan, the genius behind it, so I'll simply add that this is a good release. Great picture, great sound, documentaries, what we've come to expect from Blurays associated with Nolan's movies.
Worth having and thank God we still have people like Nolan, willing to make summer movies that make people think, rather than just cranking out Ironman 7!!!!

When I read they were breaking the book into two seasons I already had high expectations, and this season certainly didn't fail to deliver. Not much else to say fans don't already know, but I will add that the caliber of the acting continue to impress me. Even the 'lesser' of the performances beat 95% of the hams on most broadcast TV.
And the Bluray presentation, bonus materials and all, are what we have come to expect from these producers.
Well done all around, can wait for the new season

Like LoTR, the features get better with each movie

As the original LoTR trilogy progressed the additional material was more and more important to the storyline.
I feel this will also prove true in The Hobbit series. Because of this I don't see why anyone would buy the theatrical version when we all know an extended version will eventually be released.

The Audio output is fiber optic and I use it to send audio out to drive a little stereo, and the stereo has a headphone jack.

No. I have watched Netflix, Hulu and Amazon Instant through a streaming Bluray player for over 5 years with no problems.
If your Smart TV has those apps, you should be able to watch them.
The wife and I bought this Firestick mainly for several apps it has that even the newest Bluray player, bought just this past Christmas, doesn't have.
Like Acorn, BBC stuff my wife loves, and a lot of it not available anywhere else.

Can you watch regular T.V. with the Firestick? Does it have a built in antenna or how do you watch regular channels fox five, cbs, abc, etc.????
It does not have an antenna to pick up local channels (but that only cost me an additional $30 and works GREAT) but it does have apps for all the motor networks.
The problem is some of them are free and some you have to subscribe to.
I don't watch it near as much as my wife does so can't give more detail than that, such as which are free vs. cost.
But, considering I got my Firestick on sale, it was DEFINITELY worth what I paid.
Wife LOVES it!

can it be used for runs through the ceiling to my back and surround speakers?
I am installing four speakers in the back of the room and was wondering if this was rated to to do the runs in the rafters.

All you have to do is click on the specifications tab on the product description page to confirm, yes, it is in - wall rated.
And it definitely matters, you do not want to put cheap wire, with poor heat dissipation, in a sheetrock wall.

One side has small black +s along the length of the wire coating.

Neither, VERY fine braided copper strands, almost like grabbing a girl's ponytail. So I guess, yeah, solid, but very fine and very small.
