Insurgent lumbers along, ticking off plot points at will in an obvious attempt to move the story along to the point where the real good stuff can start. There's not one putative "twist" in this entry that any decent movie lover is not going to guess miles before it's actually revealed, but the film at least offers some spectacular set pieces and good performanes from Woodley, Winslet and Watts. The whole Divergent franchise has seemed like a knockoff of better known and just plain better fare, and that perception is only reinforced with this fitfully engaging but overall kind of tired entry.

This is the film that set Gibson speeding off toward international action-hero superstardom, and it's not hard to see why, director George Miller—working on a miniscule budget, no less—staged several peddle-to-the-metal sequences that still have the power to whiten knuckles today. This rubber-burning exploitation film that launched a franchise and up-shifted Mel Gibson's career from obscurity to superstardom. Armchair road warriors will have no real qualms with this solid Blu-ray release from MGM, which packs a solid A/V presentation, an informative commentary track, and decent making-of retrospective

Share in the fun of Tinker Bell and the Legend of the NeverBeast. You might just find yourself drawn into the story. I was, even though I knew full well where it all was headed. Gruff is a wonderfully effective misunderstood monster, Goodwin's Fawn is fairly charming, and it all leads to a surprisingly well-constructed third act with a nice payoff

The Battle of the Five Armies battle scenes are reasonably exciting, and several strong character beats help pull it through to the end. Fortunately, it has an excellent video presentation and powerful DTS-HD Master Audio 7.1 surround track. Bottom line? The Battle of the Five Armies is a decently engaging three-star amusement park ride, but be warned: the more you scrutinize, the deeper you look, and the closer you examine all the moving parts, the more dissatisfied you're likely to become. And it isn't long before that dissatisfaction breeds disappointment

How to craft a sequel

This film is an incredibly smart update of its characters and the trials they face, as well as the introduction of a new major character. Savvily dealing with issues like the realities of adulthood, loyalty and (just for good measure) world peace, How to Train Your Dragon 2 is that rare sequel which equals (at least for the most part) its predecessor. How to Train Your Dragon 2 comes is super recommended

A Dame to Kill For is stuck squarely in the past

Ten years since Robert Rodriguez and Frank Miller stunned audiences and comic book fans with Sin City, a pulpy, visually striking neo-noir genre pic that was both wholly original and startlingly faithful to Miller's own graphic novel series. No one had seen anything like it before, Unfortunately, A Dame to Kill For, the long, looong, looooong-awaited sequel, arrived earlier this year to a less-than-enthusiastic crowd and it bombed at the box office. A Dame to Kill For looks the part... sort of... but it's hollow, cartoonish and, for a film that takes itself so seriously, much too silly, with a killer cast undone by a script that goes nowhere fast and nowhere interesting.

When its fixed, can someone keep us informed? Im gonna hold out on buying this player until the Vudu app issue is resolved.. Ill put up with samsungs small remote, and the absence of Sling, but no Vudu is the last straw ;)
