This is a great base set. My wife and I have always been interested in photography and have been meaning to evolve from our 'iPhone' cameras.

I won't sit here and type my disdain for Apple Watch (it just isn't a fitness watch, nor does it claim to be one). I bought the Surge after returning my Apple Watch. The battery lasts for days (I've averaged (5-6 days), I don't get the 7-10 days, but this is better than charging it every night (i.e. Apple Watch). I haven't used the GPS function, but I do use this watch for spin class, treadmill runs, and different aerobic exercises. By no means will this watch measure cadence or count blood cells but it gets the job done.
Does hitting my 10,000 step goal daily make me a healthy person? Not necessarily, but it helps me gauge my day (how often did I move about?). All in all, I'm a Fitbit fan. I hope we have a long, prosperous relationship. I hope firmware updates continue to improve the watch and I hope it structurally holds up.

I was in the market for some wireless headphones that also had mic capabilities so that I could pair them with my PS4.
I used them a lot the first two days with no issues. I paired them with my laptop and my phone. Sadly, these headphones do not pair with the PS4--yes the SONY PlayStation. So, as of today, these headphones find themselves back at the local Best Buy. The main purpose was for playing video games--but this isn't on Sony it's on me for not checking into these things before hand.
I digress. These were great. They sounded comparable to other headphones (I do prefer my Audio-Technica's for music). The cushioning that goes around your ears was a little 'tough' (not very cushiony). Lastly, they were light so it made it feel as if they were cheap--which from use wasn't the case.

I don't know how technical we want to get with laptop sleeves, BUT we've all had a close call that merits some extra protection. This case is sleek and it fits my MacBook pro (13" 2015?) like a glove. I've had issues in the past where, due to the new MBP's slimmer designer, the cases don't fit tightly and the laptop moves around quite a bit--not in this one. I digress. If you need a case try this one out.

I have all kinds of backpacks, duffels, etc.. As a straight backpack you might want to look elsewhere. But if you will mostly be using this as the "briefcase" and occasionally wear it as a backpack, go for it.
I use it for work (as a briefcase) but also like how easily the straps hide and can be attached for it to become a proper backpack.
It's fairly sturdy (material-wise), and I don't really foresee many issues.

After spilling water on my mid-2009 Macbook, I was in the market for a new MacBook.
For the record the old mac still WORKED. I pulled it apart, blew it out (with a hair dryer), put it back together and waited. After 4 hours, the Mac turned on and the only damage was the airport chip (so no wi-fi).
This new Mac is fast (SSD) and works like a dream. It's thinner than its predecessor and it performs at a much smoother and faster rate.
Kudos to Apple for yet another job well done.

Which fitbit is right for me?
Can you shut off features that drain the battery? And if you are really only interested in your heart rate, steps walked things of that nature is the fitbit surge over kill?
You can shut off the Bluetooth (this will do away with music control and notifications), you can also switch the Heart rate from auto to manual (so it's not constantly or intermittently measuring your heart rate).
The Surge won't use the GPS feature unless you "tell" it to by clicking the run/hike/cycle exercise button that enable the GPS.
You mentioned heart rate and steps walked--the Charge HR can do those things as well. The Surge offers you more exercise options, but the Charge HR also does notifications, measures sleep, etc. (as does the Surge).
The Surge won't use the GPS feature unless you "tell" it to by clicking the run/hike/cycle exercise button that enable the GPS.

Which fit bit is good to pick up tennis playing?
No Fitbit will measure Tennis swings or anything like that. The Surge can be set to aerobic and it will measure your heart rate and take into consideration your number of "steps" during the activity and will slap out a calorie burn figure at the end. This will also count towards your activity minutes for the day.
The surge comes preset with a number of workouts that it tracks (e.g. run, hike, elliptical, spin, etc.). You can then add additional shortcuts using the Fitbit App. But all in all, when I use it for spinning it simply calculates the length of my workout x heart rate x weight x height = Calorie Burn

What warranty is offered for this product?
I know that FitBit has their own warranty for their products, but I am wondering if Best Buy has a different warranty or an added one.
Geeksquad offers a 'wearable technology' extended protection plan--but this comes at an additional price (like pretty much anywhere else).
You check out at the counter and they ask you if you want a protection plan for X amount of dollars ($30-$40?)
Obviously, this comes with all kinds of fine print but it is there if needed.

Which Fitbits are waterproof?
None of the Fitbit products are "waterproof" (Fitbit doesn't want to slap that label on their products). All Fitbit products (to a degree) are water resistant. For example, the Surge "has been tested up to 1 ATM meaning it is sweat, rain and splash proof.
They do not recommend swimming, showering, etc. If you shower with it will it spark up and blow up? Probably not. But Fitbit will never go on record and say that.

Video Editing Capability ?
Is this a good machine to import/capture video, edit it, then burn to a DVD ?
I would consider going with the quad core, but this machine has worked well for me for photoshop--and minimal video editing.
Do keep in mind it doesn't have a cd-drive so you'll have to purchase that separately and connect via USB. I've run multiple programs and with my current RAM and Flash storage I've been fine. But like everyone will ask you how much video work are you doing? And it it worth the additional investment for the 15" quad, or the additional Flash Storage.
