Learn more about Resistance: Fall of Man. (Flash demo) For decades, populations across Europe and Asia have felt the fury of Chimera: a rapidly mutating parasite that infects other forms of life, rendering its victims into new Chimera. The unstoppable spread of this deadly disease has made its way to the shores of England in Fall of Man. It's now 1951, and while playing the part of U.S. Army Ranger Nathan Hale, you must fight alongside a group of British resistance soldiers in a last-ditch effort to free England and the rest of the world from the stranglehold of this ruinous plague.Exotic weapons and vehicles team with proprietary physics to create a unique human and Chimeran arsenal. While on your mission, you'll encounter lifelike characters and creatures who display sophisticated behaviors and interactions in complex environments for an immersive experience. You'll be subjected to the chaos of large, crowded battlefields in close combat within infested military command centers and decimated urban landscapes based on actual locations in Great Britain.

One of the most creative shooters ever

This game is great, the weapons are very unique and show their lineage of insomniac games. The voice-acting is top notch and really makes the story work well. The enemies are well balanced and unique from little annoying monsters to massive tanks with varying abilities. This is one of the best PS3 games out there, if you don't own it, get it...and pre-order the sequel.
The only real complaints are regarding the multiplayer, they have the standards like deathmatch, capture the flag, and these have individual scoring and team versions. There is also the option of playing through the story with another person in split-screen, but not online. That can be a little annoying if you like online gaming, but there are lots of maps available, so it's not a total wash. I've also seen complaints about the draw distance not being as high as they wanted, but it seems similar to Call of Duty 4 which looks great too. Draw distance is how far you can see into the distance without the game obscuring it with smoke or something, it's not a big deal, more of an artistic decision.
Overall this is great, especially if you don't have your heart set on fantastic multiplayer.
What's great about it: Very inventive weapons and enemies, great action, intriguing story, and wonderful voice-acting
What's not so great: draw distance is a little low and not much for multiplayer
I would recommend this to a friend!

Classic gameplay with next-gen graphics

I'd like to start by addressing the alcohol warning on the ESRB parental rating, I don't recall seeing any use of alcohol and I know the rating system is hard on anything like that citing racing games that mention celebratory champaign for alcohol use also, so if you are a parent, don't let that scare you off.
The only down side is the difficulty, it can be a bit too easy, though that might just be me. Everything else is great, lots of fun and zany action, the animations look beautiful, and there are many references to older games that will put a smile on any gamer's face. There is also a great deal of depth and customization, offering replayability. I would recommend this to any gamer who enjoys action and platforming with some puzzle elements.
What's great about it: deep, fun, with appealing animations and replayability.
What's not so great: a little easy
I would recommend this to a friend!

Best beating I ever got

This game is great if you like tough action games like devil may cry and god of war, though this focuses on defense over evasion more than those two. The enemies are nicely varied and distinct with few points of repetitiveness or frustration. There are some camera problems, but those are easy to anticipate and rare. Ryu (pronounced Ree-U) handles like a high-priced sports car and you'll love getting him to slice through enemy ninja. This translates into the platforming too, jumping from ledge to ledge is quite a thrill, though I would expect a ninja to be more subtle, but video-games are supposed to be fun not authentic. The new high definition is good, very pretty, but the textures lack the details of Resistance and other games originally made for the higher resolution, but if you want 1080P content, this is the best game in town that I can think of.
On the downside, I said this game was hard, but it is worth restating; if you are the easily-frustrated type, this might not be the game for you. It's possible I suck, but the complaints of this game's difficulty have been fairly wide-spread, and many other games (like devil may cry 3) were supposed to be difficult but I had no problems with it, so the likelihood of me sucking is minimal. The bosses have a specific method of defense and you must use a certain method for defeating them; if you don't, you die, which can be very frustrating. This zeniths at the fight with ghost Doku and drops like a rock after that, which is very jarring since there are three or so boss fights after that, but they are push-overs, including the final boss. The plot isn't bad, just not very clear, it's mostly about revenge but some moments will make you scratch your head.
This game might not be for everyone, if you don't like gore, violence, or action, you should find something else; but everybody else will love this, just be careful about the teeth-grinding.
What's great about it: Great controls, fun combat, good visuals, enjoyable platforming
What's not so great: Very hard, the bosses are too picky, non-existent plot, and the difficulty curve is a little uneven

2/3 cool+1/3 trash=can't compete with other games

this game is best reviewed in parts, the first and middle third are good, but the final third, which takes place in Cuba, ruins all the good and exacerbates the worst parts of the game.
The score goes as follows,
1 of 3=4 stars
2 of 3=4 stars
3 of 3=1 star
so the average is 3 stars
First I'll talk about the good which is the first two thirds of the game.
The environments are destructible on an aesthetic level only, but it's still very cool. Your friends hide well and even kill people on their own, which is good too. Tear gas produces a wonderful effect of blurring the screen, very interesting and makes the gas worth noting. The voice acting is great and helps the story, which is a mixed bag, it is interesting but a little silly at times. On the downside there are some clarity issues wherein you must follow rules that nobody explains to you, one example is breaking into a bank where you must punch one guard and shoot his friend, if you try to punch both then the second will get away but if you shoot them both the second will hear the gunshot and get away, in the end the mission ends if you break the unwritten rule. The other universal downside is the aiming; the most accurate gun is the sniper rifle, the next most accurate is the pistol, everything else is mostly point and pray. That also ties into the camera issues, since it is a third-person shooter, you do not see through your character's eyes the problem is that the camera can cause some confusion resulting in your recital being on the enemy and the bullet ending up in the box you are hiding behind or somewhere nowhere near your enemy, but the best is when your friend behind you blocks the camera and you can't see where you're shooting.
The final third is horrible, once your character goes to Cuba, just turn the game off; it'll be shorter, but much better. The destructible environments I loved are replaced by undying rocks and trees which your friends insist on hiding NEXT to, not behind and you have to help them. This also messes with the camera, since there are so many leaves around you it's common to not see where you are shooting because there is a leaf behind you. There is a common technique used to make computer-controlled characters more powerful which gives them infinite ammunition, this is used in many games and isn't a problem when used properly, but here the enemies get use of special weapons like RPGs, sniper rifles, and grade launchers which makes them very dangerous since they have all the ammunition they want, your friends won't use such weapons, which I call cheating. This isn't much of a problem since the AI won't stop the over-armed enemies from shooting the wall they're next to a blowing themselves up; another example of this is the tank of unlimited ammunition which will always shoot in your direction and your friends won't help you fight it, but you have to help them if they get caught in the cross-fire. The worst problem with the last third is the strictness of the objectives, many times you will need to shoot one person in a limited amount of time, under a minute, which won't give you time to tell your friends to help or even provide cover-fire; there is also a situation where you must shoot a land mine, without being noticed by the people talking to you...if you walk to a restricted area, you get shot; if you use your gunsights too soon, you get shot, if you wait to long, you get shoot. Skip this part of the game, or the entire game itself, this last part is too frustrating and finicky to be useful, if you don't mind a short game, play the first two-thirds, or skip this all together.
What's great about it: parts look very pretty, destructible environments, good voice-acting helps OK plot
What's not so great: camera issues, aiming issues, very restrictive, stupid cheater AI.

ps2 online internet setup

can you connect a ps2 slim with a ps3 slim by using an ethernet cable to play online?
if not how do you connect a ps2 to the internet?
You'd need a router, any normal router will do. Both systems would connect to that and that would connect to the internet.

Hi my ps3 isnt reading games but it plays dvds and movies wondering what could be the reason i have protection just seeing if i can fix it myself?

I also formatted the whole system and restored all the settings still no luck but it plays sometimes after a lot of opening and closing the system door.
If you cannot play blu-ray movies, that could be a hardware problem. If blu-rays play fine, I cannot think of what the issue could be.

Is there any one out there that knows for sure that the PS3 80GB is B/C with PS2 games? There are too many conflicting answers out there. HELP!!

It depends, if it has 4 USB ports and a card reader, you have software backwards compatibility.
You can check how the software works on the Sony site here: http://www.us.playstation.com/Support/CompatibleStatus
If it has 2 USB ports and no card reader then there is no backwards compatibility.
