This DVD of Con Air is presented in widescreen with a 2.35:1 aspect ratio, and the sound is done in Dolby Digital 5.1. Also included is a French-language track and Spanish subtitles. The special effects are the big winners in this DVD version. Viewers can almost see the rivets of the plane in some of the sequences, and the color rendition is excellent. Little effort went into the extra features in this DVD. Besides the language options, Touchstone included the original theatrical trailer and a "teaser" trailer. Information on the special effects and the impressive stunt work would have been welcome.

Adam Sandler's Big Daddy comes to DVD with a pair of images. The widescreen transfer preserves the original theatrical aspect ratio of 1.85:1 and is preferable to the standard full-frame 1.33:1 image. Closed-captioned English soundtracks are rendered in both Dolby Digital 5.1 and Dolby Digital Surround. English subtitles are accessible. Supplemental materials include a "making of" featurette that aired originally on HBO, talent files, original theatrical trailers, bonus trailers, and music videos from Garbage and Sheryl Crow. Fans of Sandler will not be disappointed with this disc.

The life story of boxing legend Muhammad Ali comes to vivid life in director Michael Mann's Ali. Columbia has done a fantastic job on this 2.40:1 anamorphic widescreen transfer. The images in this picture feature finely detailed colors, solid black levels, and natural flesh tones throughout. No imperfections of any kind were spotted anywhere in this transfer. The audio is presented in Dolby Digital 5.1 Surround in English and French. This soundtrack works very well in the confines of the film. There are many instances of directional effects through both the front and rear speakers with the bass coming in heavy and aggressive. No distortion is heard during any of the dialogue, effects, or music. Also included on this disc are subtitles in French, English, and Spanish. Sadly, this DVD edition of Ali is completely lacking when it comes to special features -- the only supplements available on this disc include a theatrical trailer for Ali and bonus trailers for Sam Raimi's Spider-Man and the sequel Men in Black 2. Fans will certainly be hoping for a better DVD down the line, but until then it looks like any special edition of Ali is down for the count.

I was hoping that this would be a great movie but it was slow and not nearly as good as it could have been.

The third film in the American Pie series, American Wedding, debuted on DVD in two different editions. This version contains the original version of the film seen in theaters. The picture is presented in a widescreen anamorphic transfer that preserves the original theatrical aspect ratio of 2.35:1. English, Spanish, and French soundtracks are rendered in Dolby Digital 5.1. Supplemental materials include deleted scenes, bloopers, a featurette that concentrates on the witty remarks that have issued forth from the mouth of Stiffler, and other extras sure to be savored by fans of the film series. This is a fine release from Universal, although the unrated edition of the film containing bonus footage is probably preferable for many.

The first season of this popular and heartwarming television series has been given a dignified presence on DVD. Touched By An Angel: The Complete First Season has been transferred to disc in its original full-frame aspect ratio of 1.33:1. The audio has been mastered in Dolby Digital Stereo; viewers have the choice of the original English-language soundtrack or a dubbed version in Spanish, with no subtitles included. Bonus materials include two interviews with executive producer Martha Williamson (one with Ed Bradley for 60 Minutes), commentary tracks for four episodes, and more.

America's long-dormant obsession with flared pants and feathered hair was reborn with the success of the television comedy series That '70s Show, and this special boxed set features the entire first season of the show on DVD. The episodes on That '70s Show: Season One have been transferred to disc in the full-frame format of 1.33:1, and the audio has been mastered in Dolby Digital Surround. The dialogue is in English, with optional English subtitles but no multiple language options. Bonus materials include a short documentary on the making of That '70s Show's debut season, a collection of promo spots for the show, and a trivia quiz.

The hapless crew of the S.S. Minnow may be stranded on a deserted island, but now viewers can visit Gilligan and his pals any time they want by taking a nostalgic trip back in television history with Warner Bros.' release of the second season of Gilligan's Island. Presented in 1.33:1 full-frame and featuring audio rendered in closed-captioned English Dolby Digital Mono, this disc also offers optional English, Spanish, and French subtitles. Learn the story behind the story as star Russell Johnson and creator/producer Sherwood Schwartz offer a personal introduction to the second season, and enjoy commentary by Schwartz on the popular episode "The Little Dictator."

By concentrating on character development with this first of several sequels to his Oscar-winning smash Rocky (1976), writer/director Sylvester Stallone earned critical praise that would desert him with the boxing saga's shallower subsequent chapters. Stallone returns as Rocky Balboa, a Philadelphia prize fighter enjoying his brief fame after nearly defeating world heavyweight champion Apollo Creed (Carl Weathers). Offered lucrative product endorsement opportunities, Rocky's limited education and lack of sophistication quickly become an impediment to his future success, causing him embarrassment and his pregnant wife Adrian (Talia Shire) a great deal of financial concern. Meanwhile, Creed is brooding over his near-loss to a fighter he considers an amateur far beneath him and decides to goad a reluctant Rocky into a high-profile rematch. With the family resources dwindling and his pride wounded, Rocky decides that fighting is all he knows and makes the fateful decision to climb back into the ring once more with Creed, despite assurances from all concerned that he will damage himself irreparably. Although their first meeting was simply an exhibition fight, the second Balboa-Creed face-off is an officially sanctioned battle for Creed's championship belt.

IS IT WORTH PAYING SOMEONE TO CALABRATE OR TWEEK THE SETTINGS ON MY SAMSUNG 52A650 LCD

Yes!! It is very much worth it. They make your tv look the very best that it can in your setting. I would recommend anyone doing this with a tv 42" or larger.
