Excellent nighttime video quality
on October 27, 2025
Posted by: KKCNIck
After adding the Arlo Pro 2k camera to my existing Arlo Pro Bundle setup, I noticed a real improvement in coverage around my home. The Pro 2k camera fit right in with the system, and setup was just as simple and quick as my original bundle. The 2K resolution is impressive. Images are crisp and clear, both during the day and at night. I was especially happy with how well the camera’s night vision and security light illuminated my backyard, making it easy to see details even in complete darkness. My wife also pointed out that the Pro 2k camera’s video quality is noticeably sharper than our earlier cameras.
I’m really pleased with the performance of Pro 2k camera as an add-on. The Arlo app manages all the cameras seamlessly, and I keep getting fast notifications anytime there’s motion. Adding the Pro 2k camera to my system was hassle-free. It took hardly any time.
I still like that if you already have an Arlo unlimited subscription you do not need to pay extra for the additional cameras, which is nice so I can cover more of my home without added monthly costs.
Overall, I’m really satisfied with how the Arlo Pro 2K camera looks and performs as part of my Arlo system. Even with the monthly storage fee, the features and image quality are worth it to me. The motion alerts are accurate and helpful, distinguishing between people, cars, and pets, so I’m only notified when something important actually happens.

very good value and sound.
on October 16, 2025
Posted by: KKCNIck
These are a pretty standard set of wired headphones. I took it out of the box and connected to the Aux on my Xbox controller. The audio was immediately connected.
Game Play,
I found the sound really good and the sounds during game play very spatial. If someone was walking behind me, it sounded and felt like it. They were very precise and immersive. I found the sound just ok as far as loudness. I turned them all the way up and they were just ok. I did find a few times the sound cut out but I just assumed that is from the connection through the controller. When talking via chat I found the others heard me well and they could not hear when my dog barked. The cord was plenty long as it did not feel like I was tied to my controller. I actually like the wired because it is one less thing to worry about being charged. The flip up to mute was user friendly and I like that there was not a big puffy foam end on the microphone. Just the standard slime profile. I also like the headband since it is made of an adjustable mesh fabric which is nice since it gives my head room to breathe vs the fully padded headsets.
The only Cons are I wish it came in other colors and had a better integration for PC. I used it for PC but it did not sound nearly as good.

Great microwave with even heating
on October 15, 2025
Posted by: KKCNIck
Unboxing was easy and it did not require much to set up beyond setting the time and installing the rotating glass tray.
The size of this is much wider and deeper than my current microwave it replaced so I did have to make room. Definitely measure the space if your counter is tight with your where you want to place it.
Use:
The microwave heats and cooks’ food very efficiently. I brought in leftovers for lunch and normally they are hot on the outside and cold on the inside. This was an even temp all around. What a significant difference it has made to reheating food. This is so much quieter than my past microwave. I feel the price point is very affordable for what is provided. The stainless finish is nice and did not seem to collect fingerprints. I do love the “30 seconds” button since not every microwave has that. Great when you need to just heat something a little more. The user guide was helpful in knowing the different modes and why you would use them. The wattage for the model is very effective for the price of the unit. I like the fact that the device has a child safety lock on the door.
In summary I do not feel that you can go wrong with this model provided that it has the correct amount of space inside and fits on your counter.

A Glorious addition for any typist.
on October 9, 2025

Glorious products are some of my favorite accessories and their 75% gmbk continues that tradition. While I’m typically not a huge fan of membrane keyboards, they did an excellent job with this one. The typing experience is nice and heavy and sounds great. Customizing the rbg lighting is generally a breeze, however their CORE software does lack a few features and can be a bit frustrating as there’s no save feature. On the other hand, though, changing the key caps is super easy with the included key cap remover and being able to use any MX compatible caps is wonderful. My only real complaint is the inability to switch out the actual switches but if you’re buying membrane kb, it’s not because you want to change out the switches. Overall, I very much enjoying their take on a membrane kb. For the money it is a must buy for gaming. I did find the feedback to be very accurate when playing Fortnite. I was able to build just as fast as my other gaming keyboards. It took very little time to get comfortable with this keyboard. I liked being able to move over some key caps that I am already comfortable with.

Budget printer/scanner
on October 9, 2025
Posted by: KKCNIck
Unboxing was simple with the included quick start guide. I plugged it in and pulled some blue tape off. I did have some confusion about where to add paper, but it is like the older Inkjets where the paper was vertical in the back. Once loaded I added it through the HP app. I did already have an HP account, so I just added this printer. I proceeded to install the inks, and it printed a few test pages. Then I was up and working. I did look at the subscription plans and signed up for the trial. You get up to 700 pages per month for 3 months which is a decent trial. After that it is $29.99 a month but there are less expensive options. They also offer an included paper option if you want to have everything provided.
The print quality was good and clear. I felt like the print speed was really slow and the printer itself feels like it is made of cheap plastic. It feels like a budget printer. I also scanned a few documents with the HP app, and it worked fine however since it is just a flat top you have to scan 1 page at a time.
After only printing about 30 pages the black ink was already gone. I had to wait 6 days for the first batch of provided ink to arrive. This printer is good for those just wanting to print the occasional document but if your printing/scanning more then I recommend going to the next model up in the line.

Great Pro Controller
on September 28, 2025
Posted by: KKCNIck
I like the presentation. The included case is well made. Great for a first impression. After I opened it I looked at the Quick Start Guide and it showed a wireless usb dongle and the controller. I installed but did not know what button combination would enable pairing mode. I had to google it which was unfortunate because there was not anything on the guide or provided QR code. Once it paired I was good. I just wanted to mention this since the process was more effort than required. Also it was nice to be able to charge the controller via usb c vs installing batteries.
Game Play,
I found the controller to be really exceptional from the standard Xbox controllers. It feals great in the hands with just the right amount of grip and it feels a little easier to hold compared to the more chunky Xbox controller. The left Trigger is really shallow and I would have preffered that to be the same as the right since it took me time to get used to the different feel. I know it is for a shorter trigger for certain games but it again was just new. The back paddle buttons where mirrored to the XYAB and when playing a game they actually became more of a pain since I did not know initially what they where doing. I downloaded the Victrix Control Hub. That allowed me to see what the buttons where configured, Adjust audio and check for firmware updates. Again if this was part of the Quick start guide then this could have been avoided. The app allows you to quickly remap buttons which is nice. I did try the included alternate joysticks and Directional pad. I did not find them to offer any immediate advantage for Fortnite which I was playing but I can see with other games having the option of customizing the controller to suite the game is huge. Regardless the controller worked well and felt premium. I did not feel like it gave me any immediate advantage but I can tell it is much better to use than my Xbox controller. I do wish there was a way to alter the purple ring because it gives me more of a PS vibe over Xbox. I also did connect my headset and since they were Atmos compatible I definitely heard significant audio clarity during gameplay.
I would definetly invest in this controller if you feel like your controller is holding you back or play significant hours on a fast paced game then this would be worth the investment.

Good printer for the money
on September 18, 2025
Posted by: KKCNIck
Unboxing was simple with the included quick start guide. I plugged it in and pulled some green tape off. Then I scanned the QR code on the display and ran the setup from my phone. It did have me push a button to connect my phone to the printer and then the setup went odd from there. I was prompted to download Brother Mobile Connect and since I had an account I added the printer. When I did it tried to start the setup again. Eventually it asked for my wireless password and then froze. I closed the app and then when I went back in the printer was there. I proceeded to install the inks and it printed a few setup pages. Then I was up and working. I did look at the subscription plans but the free trial only covered $30 and that was only 200 pages for 2 months. So I held off the trial for now until I see how long the ink lasts.
The print quality was good and clear. I did feel like when printing duplex that it was really slow. I also scanned a few documents with the Brother app and it worked fine. I was left with a PDF I could use.
I do worry that the subscription is expensive for the amount of pages you get included. Also the setup was clunky. However, if this has the features you want then for the price it is a good option. I would just look at the cost of purchasing ink vs subscription depending on how much you need to print.

Powerful Wifi 7 router
on September 17, 2025
Posted by: KKCNIck
Things started out a little rocky during the initial setup process. I first attempted to connect using the ASUS app on my smartphone, but unfortunately, it failed to detect the router or initiate the setup wizard properly. After a few frustrating attempts, I decided to switch over to my laptop, and from that point on, everything went smoothly. The web-based interface was intuitive and responsive, making the rest of the setup process straightforward.
Once inside the router’s interface, the setup was simple and user-friendly. It asked the usual questions—SSID name, password creation, and a few basic configuration options. A quick firmware update was prompted and installed without issue. From the moment I accessed the setup wizard to the point where the network was fully operational, the total time was around six minutes. It was a fast and efficient process once I got past the initial hiccup with the mobile app.
Pros:
Excellent Wi-Fi coverage: My 1300 sq ft single-level home is now fully covered with no dead zones, even in corners where signal used to drop.
Consistent speed: Both Wi-Fi and LAN connections deliver fast and stable data transfer rates, ideal for streaming, gaming, and remote work.
Dual ISP support: The ability to configure a backup ISP is a huge plus for reliability, especially in areas with occasional outages.
Customizable aesthetics: The front-facing RGB lighting can be personalized, adding a nice visual touch to the setup.
Warranty and support: Comes with a generous 3-year warranty, which adds peace of mind and long-term value.
Cons:
Bulky power brick: The power adapter is oddly shaped and takes up two slots on my power strip, which is inconvenient in tight spaces.
No port LEDs: The network ports on the back lack indicator lights, making it difficult to confirm whether cables are properly seated or active.

Small TV Surge
on September 15, 2025
Posted by: KKCNIck
Compact, Reliable, and Surprisingly Handy
I installed the Rocketfish RF-HTSP225 surge protector for a quick and simple solution, and it absolutely delivers. Setup couldn’t be easier. I opened the box and took out the plug. That was it. Of course, I had to pull my TV off the wall to mount the plug, and I needed a 3rd person to help me connect the power while we put the TV back on the wall. It fit nice and flush behind the bracket and did not bend my power cable. The LED indicator is a great touch it gives me peace of mind knowing the surge protection is active at a glance.
What really stands out is the size. It’s small enough to fit behind furniture or in tight spaces without getting in the way but still feels solid and well-built. For the price, it’s a fantastic value especially considering the brand reputation and added protection for my devices.
If you’re looking for a no-fuss, dependable surge protector that doesn’t hog space, this one’s a winner. I do wish there were angled plugs to allow for more mounting options depending on the type of TV power cord. Luckily mine worked but a more flush mount then there would have been an issue.

Easy Installation, Affordable and Good Clear Video
on July 22, 2025
Posted by: KKCNIck
The Blink Outdoor 4 was very simple to install with the wire free installation which any one with limited experience would be able to install with no issues and the cameras are easy to manage through the app which downloaded. I like the broader and wider views this product offers. I don’t like the fact that you must have a subscription for certain features for the cameras but do like the fact that it gives you the option to store footage locally using the sync module and a USB drive. The daytime picture is very clear, but the night vision quality is functional but is a bit hazy and not very clear especially without external light source, but I guess with an added light it would be improved but is good for the price of the cameras. Just waiting to see if the battery life holds up to what is described for the product. I like the fact that it is budget friendly and offers an affordable option for those seeking an inexpensive and reliable way to monitor their property. Viewing the footage on the Blink app on a smartphone is limited. Overall, I am liking the fact that I can view the momma bear and her three new little cubs in my yard. So pleased with the overall quality of the product.

Best Iphone Yet
By KKCNIck from montgomery, il
It is a huge step up from the original IPhone. Each Year they get better and better. This year finally the most needed thing (larger Display). I only wish the 2 features in the plus were in this and it would have been perfect. Full 1080p display and the optical Image Stabilization. The Plus is nice but its practically a tablet and really should have been able to have those features in both. Otherwise very happy with the upgrade.

How do I pick a new laptop?

Need to buy a laptop. will use at home (home office). Will download CD's and Itunes (up to 5,000 songs)
Well any laptop will do that. It is a matter of hard drive space. I would look at the Toshiba A305-6916 if you can find one because they are priced right and have great speakers for playback. Also has a 320gb hd which is pleanty of room.

Yeah I just saw one for $999 and it has p7450 processor and a 1gb nvidia gt260 card. It also comes with a free upgrade to windows 7 when released. I would find the G50vt that they are clearancing if you can because there is not much difference and you will save money.
