This two pack is a winner

I like both of these movies. Good suspense elements. I had seen both of these movies in the past and liked them enought to purchase on DVD for my movie library.

Robin Williams stars in director Terry Gilliam's twisted comedy The Fisher King. Columbia has done an excellent job at making sure this 1.85:1 anamorphic widescreen transfer is clear and concise. The colors and black levels are all spot-on with only the slightest amount of edge enhancement creeping into the image. Otherwise, this is a great-looking image that should really please fans. The soundtrack is presented in Dolby Digital 2.0 Surround in English and is, alas, not half as effective as the video presentation. While all aspects of the dialogue, effects, and music are quite clear, dynamic range and fidelity is sorely lacking in this mix. Also included on this disc are English subtitles. Viewers are likely to go bonkers when they find out the only extra features available on this disc are a few measly theatrical trailers.

One of my all time favorite movies!

This movie has such a great story line and is so clever and "deep". I feel that Robin Williams acting in this movie was superb, and I am surprised he didn't get nominated, for any awards. Jeff Bridges is so good in this movie too. Not only is there drama, but great comedic moments and classic lines. I highly recommend this one, if you haven't seen it. This one shows the range of not only Robin Williams comedic abilities, but also his dramatic acting chops. Definately a must see!!

Despite a cast led by Oscar-winners Anthony Hopkins and Cuba Gooding Jr., neither critics nor the public took to the strange prison drama Instinct, and it seems Touchstone also has little affection for the film, judging by this weak DVD. The letterboxed picture is okay and the Dolby Digital 5.1 Sound does at least make the most of the reasonably dramatic soundtrack. However, the only special feature is the film's original theatrical trailer, which is scarcely an adequate selling point for a film that so utterly failed to capture public imagination. At the very least there could have been some production notes and biographies of the stars. As it is, even fans of the two leads will find little to recommend this bare-bones DVD.

If you are a Anthony Hopkins fan, as I am, this movie does not disappoint. It has a good dramatic plot line . I have already owned this on VHS, and wanted to make sure and upgrade it to DVD, so it would stay relevant, since it is a good movie and one I want to keep in my collection.

This is one of those "feel good" comedies. After I saw it , I knew I wanted to own it for myself. Albert Brooks is hilarious! One of those movies I could watch again and again.

Jim Carrey, Matthew Broderick. A customer's bribery attempt to get free cable leads an out-of-control cable guy on an absurd quest to take over the man's entire life. 1996/color/91 min/PG-13/widescreen.

This movie cracks me up, every time

This is one of those " guilty pleasure" movies, which may be considered corny by some, but has some parts that really crack me up. I am a big Jim Carrey fan, so that definately attracted me to this movie. He has several classic "Carrey scenes" in this movie. Matthew Broderick is funny as well. This is definately not a movie for the "whole family", or young kids, as it is a dark comedy, and rather crass at points. It is definately an adult comedy, for anyone who is a Carrey fan and a lover of his crazy antics, it's a little off beat, at points, like Ace Ventura, but it will have you cracking up.
What's great about it: humor, Carrey and Broderick
What's not so great: some of it is rather crass

Rob Reiner's Best Picture Oscar nominee A Few Good Men comes to DVD with a widescreen anamorphic 2.35:1 transfer that preserves the original theatrical aspect ratio. An English soundtrack is rendered in Dolby Digital Surround, while Spanish and French soundtracks are recorded in Dolby Digital Mono. Spanish and Korean subtitles are accessible. There are no substantial extra materials, which is something of a surprise considering the film's popular and critical success. Fans of the film will appreciate the great picture, but those that were underwhelmed by the film in the theater will find nothing to change their minds on this release.

A classic must see

This is one of my favorite movies. Who doesn't know about the classic Jack Nicholson line that made this movie famous? The acting is great, as is the plot. This movie has a great cast, with so many of the actors giving great performances. There is not only drama, in this movie, but also comedic moments. This is definately one of those movies you will want in your collection.

Jonathan Lynn's Clue has gained something of a cult following since its original release in 1985. The disc of the film offers a widescreen anamorphic transfer that preserves the original theatrical aspect ratio of 1.85:1. English and French soundtracks are rendered in Dolby Digital Mono. English subtitles are accessible. Supplemental materials include the theatrical trailer. The gimmick when the film was initially released was that it had three different endings. When the film began to air on television, the three endings were combined into one finale. The disc offers the viewer the choice to view any of the three conclusions. This is a fine release from Paramount, but they really could have done more with it, especially the soundtrack.

This movie is a classic and one that I watch every year with my family. I would always catch bits and pieces of this movie, as they would run it on tv all day, but now it is nice to have it on DVD, so I can sit down and watch it in it's entirity, whenever I want to. This is one of those "feel good" movies for the whole family, that will keep your interest and have you laughing along the way. This is definately a movie that you will want to pull off the shelf and watch every year. I highly recommend it.

Les Mayfield's remake of Miracle on 34th Street comes to DVD with a widescreen anamorphic transfer that preserves the original theatrical aspect ratio of 1.85:1. Closed-captioned English soundtracks are rendered in both Dolby Digital 5.0 and Dolby Digital Surround, while a French soundtrack has also been recorded in Dolby Digital Surround. English and Spanish subtitles are accessible. Supplemental materials are limited to theatrical trailers. This 20th Century Fox release does a fine job presenting the film, but offers nothing of interest in terms of extras.

this is a "feel good" holiday movie

This is such a heartwarming movie. This is a classic Christmas tale. The little girl, that is featured, is so adorable, and funny, at points. This is one of those movies that you will want to watch every Christmas season, with your family. I have seen the original Miracle on 34th St, and I like this one just as much. Although it follows the original plot line, to a degree, there are additional elements added, that give interest. I like everything about this movie, and highly recommend it. It is good family viewing.
What's great about it: plot, acting, family friendly

John Pasquin's holiday comedy The Santa Clause comes to DVD with a widescreen anamorphic transfer that preserves the original theatrical aspect ratio of 1.85:1. The English soundtrack is rendered in Dolby Digital 5.1, while Spanish and French soundtracks have been recorded in Dolby Digital Stereo. Spanish subtitles are accessible, and the English soundtrack is closed captioned. Supplemental materials include a trivia game and a pair of featurettes. Those with a DVD-ROM drive can access additional featurettes and a screensaver for PC. This is a solid release from Disney/Buena Vista.
