So the movie does look good in places and not so good in other places. The lighting had a lot to do with the image quality, and in the sun light it was overexposed a bit and not as sharp. While inside, the clarity was much better. Not too bad for an older release.

I live in dorm and my room is carpeted. Not a large room and I was wondering if it's okay to use this to pick up hair and stuff
If the hair is not embedded in the carpet then yes. This isn't a replacement for full-sized heavy-duty vaccum.
