The best-known songs on this album are the mega-hits "Silly Love Songs" and "Let 'Em In," but there are other gems, including "Beware My Love"; "She's My Baby" and "Warm And Beautiful".
Because WINGS AT THE SPEED OF SOUND was recorded during the mid-'70s vinyl shortage, when most single releases were album cuts, there is not much bonus material available. Disc 2 (Bonus Audio) features demos of "Silly Love Songs," "She's My Baby," "Let 'Em In," and "Warm And Beautiful" (an instrumental); a 24-second "Message To Joe" [English], spoken by Paul on a vocoder, sounding a lot like the "talking guitar" on an old Alvino Rey record; an alternate take of "Beware My Love," featuring the late Led Zeppelin drummer John Bonham; and Macca's guide vocal on "Must Do Something About It."
WINGS AT THE SPEED OF SOUND is still a very enjoyable album and is worth purchasing. Four stars.

Funnier than expected

In the mode of NATIONAL LAMPOON'S FAMILY VACATION is not a negative thing. This is an energetic and often quite funny family film. The theater we saw it in was nearly full with a cross section of seniors to kids. People laughed together and often.
The movie is fast paced with great outdoor cinematography. The plot has some twists and surprises and a real treat is Jeff Daniels and Kristen Chenoweth as parents of a permanent RV living (Christian?) family that are not treated as buffoons or easy targets for satire.
And that's the other thing that I liked about this light-hearted comedy; i.e., it has a moral center. Without being preachy in any way, the right things happen as all the loose ends are tied up in an unexpected (to me, anyway) and satisfying ending.
It was nice to see the late Robin Wiliams in a family film.
Jaded newspaper and TV reviewers weren't all that enthusiastic about this film, but audiences sure are. It was the top box office new movie the week it opened.

Bill Preston and Ted Logan are two totally excellent dudes facing one most heinous history exam. With the help of Rufus an ultra-cool messenger in a time traveling phone booth, the triumphant twosome bag a bevy of historical heavyweights like the "Bodacious Philosopher" Socrates" One Very Excellent Barbarian" Genghis Khan, the "Short Dead Dude" Napoleon and "Noah's Wife" Joan of Arc to stage the most hysterical high school project ever. History's about to be rewritten by two guys who can't even spell.

Good Film

Never Been Kissed is a wonderful, feel-good movie that will leave you with a huge smile on your face long after it's ended.
I'm not a 'teen' and I still enjoyed it thoroughly. Drew Barrymore is great and totally believable as the nerd who is an ugly duckling on the outside but a swan on the inside, who returns to school for an undercover job as a reporter, where she ultimately finds herself.
When I saw this at the pictures, the whole audience was totally absorbed by the film and vocally sympathized with Josie's humiliating flashbacks and laughed out loud at her charming awkwardness.
David Arquette as her 'cool' and 'popular' brother was inspired casting and Michael Vartan as the teacher she falls for plays his part perfectly.
These three actors alone make the film well worthwhile. Watch it and see.
