Alicia Vikander really fits the role as Tomb Raider well. Unlike the previous Tomb Raider movies with Angelina Jolie, the character of Lara Croft is developed and she doesn't start out as a "Tomb Raider". These kinds of movies are always difficult for producers because they are introductions to a new character - and it takes time to develop the character, much like the Wonder Woman movie (which seemed to start off a little slowed but then accelerated towards the end). Sometimes with character development comes the potential of losing the audience because we always want to see immediate action.
I liked the way Alicia acts and how she starts off with her character. She isn't a full-fledged explorer at this time and she can't kick everybody's butt. She actually takes hits, gets beat, and isn't portrayed as the ultimate female - it's believable.
Watch this actor, because she is very talented and you will like this Tomb Raider movie. No, she doesn't have her center of gravity at the upper half of her body like the original Tomb Raider computer game OR like Angelina Jolie, but she is completely believable.

I really enjoyed this movie because it focuses on a completely different area of the world and their culture. It is a nice change of pace from the Avengers getting together and combining their forces to stop some global nemesis; rather, it focuses on the Black Panther and his people and the struggles that exist within his own culture.
In terms of 4k presentation, it's nothing short of spectacular.
Christopher Nolan steps back into the director's chair for this sequel to Batman Begins, which finds the titular superhero coming face to face with his greatest nemesis - the dreaded Joker. Christian Bale returns to the role of Batman, Maggie Gyllenhaal takes over the role of Rachel Dawes (played by Katie Holmes in Batman Begins), and Brokeback Mountain star Heath Ledger dons the ghoulishly gleeful Joker makeup previously worn by Jack Nicholson and Cesar Romero. Just as it begins to appear as if Batman, Lt. James Gordon (Gary Oldman), and District Attorney Harvey Dent (Aaron Eckhart) are making headway in their tireless battle against the criminal element, a maniacal, wisecracking fiend plunges the streets of Gotham City into complete chaos.

Probably the best of the Batman trilogy, in my personal opinion. Heath Ledger does an incredible job portraying The Joker. There is a fantastic cast of characters and there is seriousness to the movie, not continual comic remarks that you encounter in other shows. In terms of 4K presentation, all three of this Batman series looks incredible and clean. What I like the most is that the screen presentation switches between full screen and widescreen, which I think is a great way for a producer to focus in on details when a widescreen presentation isn't necessary. It also gives us TV owners the ability to enjoy the full real estate of our screens when widescreen isn't necessary. When you have a 4k HDR TV, full-screen looks so good. I have nothing but praise for all three of this Batman series. Get it - NAO!

Would I recommend this to a friend - yes, definitely. Why? Because it's Star Wars! However, I remember the previous Star Wars shows that really grabbed your attention and that had phenomenal talent. Specifically, the middle three - great action! The last two movies, though, seemed very lacking in talent and character. We're already done with Episode 8 and it just hasn't gotten better - that is a personal opinion. The storyline just doesn't seem to have any depth to it at this point. Maybe I am longing for the days of pure Jedi action (Darth Maul, Qui-Gon, Kenobi) because these fight scenes were truly remarkable, unlike those of the last two movies when sword action was present. Maybe it's just the nature of the final 3 movies, I don't know (the Jedi have declined). These last three episodes can be made to have the action and performance of "Rogue One", though - what a great movie! However, in my opinion, the last two movies have been lacking. I hope the final episode sets a new bar, though.

The 4k presentation does the movie justice. Edward Norton and Liv Tyler don't quite fit the roles, in my personal opinion, but the movie is good. Too many characters have been cast as The Hulk and I am a fan of Mark Ruffalo. Just watch the movie and enjoy the storyline - you will see some of the same foundational Marvel characters in this movie that you have seen in others, but the actors playing The Hulk have been evolving.

This was an emergency purchase when I was building a computer. Although it was fairly expensive with no sales, I was able to use some Best Buy certificates against the purchase. You can get equal quality/performance for less money, but if you are in a desperate scenario - like me - this works just fine.

Blade Runner has been out a while, so I'm not reviewing the movie content, which is fantastic. This review is for the 4k HDR transfer.
For a movie that was created in 1982, the 4K HDR transfer looks pretty **** good! There are only minimal scenes where you can see some graininess, which is pretty good considering that this movie is mainly set in a dark environment. Some put a little more effort into making sure a transfer is done well, and this movie is one of those exceptions. Many of the older movies don't get as much "love" (such as Close Encounters of the Third Kind) and they almost look worse than the original blu ray release. You won't be disappointed with this 4k HDR release. Being a movie with a darker ambient environment there are plenty of lights to pop out at you showing off the HDR effects. If you happen to own a TV that produces really great blacks (OLED, etc.), you will like the blacks in this movie.

I am a Trekkie and you might think that I gave this a 5-star rating just because of that. Well, that is not the case. I am rating the movie AND the 4k content as a package. For those of you who read my reviews, I focus more on the technical performance of the movie because this is a 4k movie review and I love excellent video presentations. What I absolutely love about this movie is that it switches between full screen and widescreen modes. The producer uses full screen where there is reason to focus in on something (and who cares about what is on the peripheral), otherwise, they use wide screen. What this does is it allows you to frequently enjoy the entire real estate of your TV in glorious 4k - and it's gorgeous! The 4k presentation is beautiful, especially at the beginning when you watch the natives chasing Kirk and McCoy. The HDR is vibrant and the colors beautiful and there isn't any noise in the video. The movie theme itself is the best yet of the new Star Trek movies (even over the recent "Star Trek Beyond", in my opinion). A movie that is beautifully presented with today's 4k and HDR technology - pick it up!

So, this is a great example of a superb movie with superb 4k content, HDR effects, and Dolby Atmos sound. All I can say is that I have watched this movie about 6 times now just to adore the quality of the video - yes, I am a nerd. Video is crisp and clean AND sharp. Sound is top-notch. The movie drama itself keeps you wanting more, even though you would think it should be slow, because of a lone guy on Mars. All I can say is GET IT. Pay the money for the 4k version, enjoy the beautiful HDR content, and be immersed in the Dolby Atmost or DTS:X sound field.
Who will save the Earth after huge alien spacecraft demolish the Empire State Building, the White House, downtown Los Angeles, and most of the world's major cities? How about a brave Marine pilot (Will Smith), a brilliant cable TV technician (Jeff Goldblum), and the U.S. president (Bill Pullman), who must all work together to coordinate a daring offensive to stop the invasion on the 4th of July? The smash-hit mixture of sci-fi thrills and disaster movie dramatics also stars Robert Loggia, Margaret Colin, Vivica A. Fox, and Randy Quaid. 145 min. Widescreen; Soundtracks English Dolby Digital 5.1, Spanish Dolby Digital Surround, French Dolby Digital Surround; Subtitles English, Spanish; audio commentary. Two-disc set.

The movie itself has been out a while and I love it. I would give the movie 4 stars, but the 3 star rating is for the 4k content (resolution, HDR effects, etc.). The 4k version of the movie really didn't add anything new, other than some new DTS:X sound. Sure, you have the HDR effects, but they are not effectively taken advantage of in this movie. Also, the movie appeared to be a blu ray transfer onto a 4k disc, with some refinements, and not a total re-master. I could clearly see extra video noise in some scenes (even at a distance) and was very disappointed. The movie itself is great - go for it. If you want to spend $29.99 on a 4k version of this movie, be warned that it is not a re-master and you may spend a lot of money for nothing if you are expecting a re-master.
