A little slow-going for my taste

I believe this series has some good reviews. However, it reminds me of the pace of the Walking Dead series - the only way you can create some excitement is by deliberately creating it and creating a new peril. I guess I am the sort of person that likes to have some excitement and unexpected twists here and there in some shows and not a long storyline development or obvious attempts to create tension or peril. It's too "soap-opera" for me as you watch people live each day. The threat is the same - aliens. If it were the first show of it's kind, it might be different for me. I'm sure many will like it because they like this type of story development. Special effects are okay and average.
