The first movie was a low budget flick by Danny Boyle. It looks like it was filmed on video tape so the picture quality and sound is pretty iffy with edge enhancements.
The second movie was made on film and is a lot better image-wise compared to the first movie. Too bad the first movie is a better film than the second.

A great UHD player fot the price

This player is going for about $200 and at that price, it's a steal. The Panasonic is going for several hundred dollars and Oppo and Sony have not released their players yet.
Since this is a first gen player, you can expect some design quirks and there are some. For some reason, the Samsung uses 4:4:4 color mode which requires 18Gbps bandwidth. This means that in most cases, you will have to upgrade your HDMI cables. 95% of HDMI cables cannot handle full bandwidth UHD signals, even those that are "certified".
Once you do get the system up and running, UHD does make the image more detailed, even on a 50" screen. But it is the HDR that makes the most impact in viewing UHD movies. Colors pop and you get brighter whites and darker blacks.
The only issue is that a lot of 2014-2105 UHD color displays are not designed for HDR so you will only get the added detail.

It's not as fancy as the top line Harmony remotes but this one gets the job done. i like the fact that it uses AA batteries which are replaceable. The Harmony database is quite extensive and all my devices are covered. You can't go wrong with this...

I remember when SSDs were extremely expensive. When I bought this, the price was slightly over $200. One TB SSDs were nearly $1000 a year ago.
SSDs are super fast, 4-6x faster than regular hard drives. My Windows 10 computer boots up in 10 seconds. Opening and saving files are super quick. It makes my computer super fast.

Personal Home Cloud Network setup
I am looking at setting up a home network using either a WD or Seagate My Cloud hard drive. The concern I have is we use multiple systems in the house (PCs, MacBook, IPad, Galaxy, ....) and I want to be able to access the home network using any and all of these systems. When I read through the setup instructions for the WD and Seagate, they are either for the PC or Mac; there's not much guidance on across platform setup. Am I able to setup the network so I have access to it using any of my systems? if so how do I go about doing this?
It does not matter what OS you use as the Cloud drive will appear as a network drive. If the device can detect the network, it should detect the cloud drive.
The only thing is how the devices have the ability to back up to the cloud drive. They all can back up but it may have to be done manually...

Newer motherboards do not have IDE/PATA connectors. You will have to buy a new HDD as the ribbon cable is a parallel cable and the newer ones are serial type and are not compatible...

SATA drives are getting cheap... You could pick up a 250GB SATA drive for about $80 or so. You have to check if your computer has an internal SATA connector. IF not, you will need to buy a PCI SATA card.

You have to check if your eMachine desktop uses an IDE/PATA or a SATA HDD... I think the eMachines used IDE/PATA connectors. If so, you will have a hard time finding a replacement as they have been more or less phased out by SATA drives. I would look into a WD 250GB HDD. Again, you will have to get more information as really older computers may not recognize drives of large capacity...

You can put in any desktop HDD with no issue. You just have to make sure if the interface is SATA or IDE.

Not likely. I believe laptops back then used IDE interfaces and the SSD uses a SATA interface...
