I liked the idea of no cords, but the longest I could listen to music was 2.5 hours.. I sit at my desk all day and like to have one ear plug in, so I can still hear other things around me. It concept was good, but with them only lasting 2.5 hours it was not worth it. Plus they started to make my ear sore. I returned them for Bose.

light, deep, REM sleep tracked?
It tracks deep, light and wake times. I do not think it is advanced enough to track REM, but could be wrong about that.

No. While it is manufactured by Garmin, it is not a GPS unit.

Do they have one that doesn't have to be charged
I know someone who never takes it off so then do you just have to replace the battery
The VivoSmart has to be charged at least once per week, based upon your activity. I am not sure if Garmin manufactures a non-charge unit, or not.

Will Vivosmart count calories burned on a stationary bike?
Yes. I'm pretty sure it will keep up with that activity and calorie "burn". There is a cycling setting either in the app or on the Garmin PC dashboard.

I need to know if I can make it work using an old ipad 2? Thank you.
I'm not sure about that. My wife and I each have the app tethered to our iPhone 5c's, and they work with minimal issues.
