Still the best modern Sherlock Ever

Be patient. The last episode is still the best and it's like the story of the surgeon who see the patient as being their son.
There's no doubt in my mind that this current Sherlock incarnation as portrayed as being in the world of today is one of the best ever.
The only other best of Sherlock was Jeremy Brett's version in his earlier portrayals.
While Basil Rathbone's was, at one time, the best, modernizing Sherlock for modern times, brings the character and the story-telling to a wider audience.
There's no doubt in my mind that this current Sherlock incarnation as portrayed as being in the world of today is one of the best ever.
The only other best of Sherlock was Jeremy Brett's version in his earlier portrayals.

Go deep undercover in this hilarious action-comedy with an all-star cast including Zach Galifianakis, Jon Hamm, Isla Fisher and Gal Gadot. An ordinary suburban couple finds it's not easy keeping up with the Joneses - their impossibly attractive and ultrasophisticated new neighbors - especially when they discover Mr. And Mrs. Jones are covert spies embroiled in international espionage.

The previews played better than the movie

With a great cast in place, as well as Jon Hamm in a potentially great role, this could have been better.
With some plot variations, it kind of played out as a light-weight version of Mr. and Mrs. Smith, which was the more superior movie.
Gal Gadot is a pleasure to watch but the Hamm and Gadot character play-off didn't quite seem to hit the mark.
But, you have to give kudos to Zach Galifianakis for playing a character outside of his normal portrayal, and it was good to see his physical presence so changed from his past roles.
Enjoyable, it could have been better, worth a watch on Netflix, but probably nothing you should actually invest in by purchasing the movie.

If you've read the book, it has an interesting prose style - presented from the perspective of the characters, you had to question how the story would be transitioned to the screen.
I was pleasantly surprised how well the story was presented on the screen. And, while not the most intricate plot in the world, the basics behind the story were really self-evident if you were paying attention - and, if you're a murder-mystery novel fan, you should be able to figure it out during the last third of the movie.

But, it was better than I expected.
There's more to the story about Deepwater Horizon than the movie portrays and it's an uneven mix between characters and storyline. But, if even any of the film's aspects are true, you have to wonder that anyone made it out alive.
And, there should have been a little more character development for Kurt Russell's character since his was the main focus, as well as Malkovich representing corporate - with a little more stress on the contention between the rig managers and the corporate reps, tension to the story line would have made it a more viable drama.

Good background story which leads into the main action points and, once it gets started, the story builds into the end.
Interesting character study but you have to kind of wonder what the impact is against those with the mental disabilities portrayed in the film.
And, as the story progresses near the end, you kind of figure out the relationship of the protagonists.
Nonetheless, it was enjoyable with enough action to satisfy the viewer. The only addition to the film which would have made it better would have been a more fuller development of the character played by Anna Kendrick.

The original 7 holds up over time

Having watched the Denzel Washington version of the Magnificent 7, it had been awhile since I had seen the original - and, instead of finding it somewhere in the Cable Channel Guide, I thought it would be worth the investment of purchasing a Blu-Ray version if it was available - and, fortunately, as Best Buy sometimes does, I was able to pick it up.
Re-purposing old movies in Blu-Ray high definition only adds to the overall viewing experience, especially in wide-screen, enhanced color and a sharp picture - certainly better than watching it on TV.
Yul Brynner, Steve McQueen, James Coburn, Robert Vaughn; the characters and the storyline have held up over time - and, you just can't beat the original music.

The first three Jason Bourne movies based on Ludlum's books followed the logical progression of both character development as well as finding the historical perspective the character has undergone to transform him from normal guy into a government weapon.
What makes the Bourne movies so enticing relies more on his discovery of his past and true identity as well as his combat engagement with those who either oppose him or try to take him down,
Without giving too much away in terms of the end point of the characters in the film, you have to wonder how much more, if there is a next film, the envelope can be pushed in terms of chaos and mayhem.

I had high hopes for this movie based on the previews - and, it started out really well but, because of the story drifting off into escapades into the streets, it went a little off track - seems to me that just as much time should have been spent with inter-apartment pet interactions which seemed more fun than the on-the-streets challenges faced by the pets; overall, however, it was enjoyable and something my grandchildren adored.

You can never go wrong with Jason Statham - no matter what movie he's in, he adds both character and that over the shoulder attitude that you wish your best friend had.
The plot may be a bit contrived and predictable, but doesn't detract from the ride and how he figures out how to accomplish what he has to do - well, you'll just shake your head.
And, if you enjoy heights, don't miss the pool scene.
