Nice Transfer | Finally A Good Video Game Movie

I enjoyed this movie in the theaters and decided to add it to my collection. While some are okay, I think most video game adaptations are pretty bad. The previously released Tomb Raider movies were for most guilty pleasures and while not great they were still entertaining. They centered around an already established Lara Croft who was known as a tomb raider. This 2018 release is more about the game reboot and Lara's origins as the Tomb Raider. I thought the adaptation, although with an unexpected surprise, was fairly close to the game and executed well.
I thought the 4K transfer was well done and the audio was better than average. I wish I had a larger TV to fully enjoy my 4K movies but I'll make do with what I have. :-)

It's Fun...I'm Still Learning

I am not very good at the newer style of sports games but they are so much fun. Last time I played a Madden game was on my friend's PS2. So, yeah, I took the tutorial/training first to stand a chance. I got a few touchdowns and gosh darn it I suck at field goals. I mean BADLY. Anyway, I haven't won a game yet but I will do my darndest. LOL It's all good. There is nothing wrong with this game. It's fun and it's good. I just have to get better.

Better With Patches/Updates

I beat this game on PC and since it was on a very nice sale for the PS4 I picked it up. Color me crazy. Anyway, things that didn't quite work well initially is now working a lot better. I'm especially happy about the helicopter fix as it handles way better now.
Overall I like the goal of taking down the cartel bit by bit. It's a huge undertaking. Some more variety would have been nice because it gets repetitive. The difficulty increases as you go on but not by a heck of a lot.
As for this second attempt, I will take my time to finish as I have other games I'd like to beat. LOL With the changes, I don't anticipate being super annoyed or frustrated. I did like it initially despite a few shortcomings. So, while it's not perfect it has more pros than cons. IMO

I wasn't interested in spending a bunch of money. This works fine for the space I have and it matches with its floor counterparts. A bigger room, in comparison to the one it's in, would not be the best idea for this speaker. For the price and my needs, it's a great fit.

Definitely darker than other King Arthur movies I have seen. Performances all around were very good especially Jude Law. CG wasn't obvious in some scenes but it was in others. I think overall it was entertaining and for a sale price of $6 it was worth the pickup.

Funny, Arguably Over The Top, In A Good Way

I laughed quite a bit. Good action sequences. No, they're not all believable but I think that was the point. Although they weren't cops, it had a Lethal Weapon or Rush Hour feel to it. Good on-screen chemistry.
The reason I got this in 4K, other than the fact that it was on sale, is the scenery. I have no idea how much of it was real or fake but it was well done and I really wanted to see how it looked in 4K. Sharp images and great colors. All in all I am happy with this purchase.

I got this on Black Friday so my review is that I am still getting used to it and so far I have no complaints. I did my research and I am aware of the pros and cons. I've done all I can and have plans set in place to avoid falling into any of the cons which are directly related to Sony as a company and not so much this product and its performance. I also got the Geek Squad protection for any unknown circumstances.
So far it works fine and games play flawlessly. There are tons of resources online that can help with making the best use of this console if that's what you want. Me, I just want to play games - mostly exclusive games.
So far one of the best things about picking this up is the sale. I put off getting it until the holidays because I was really hoping for a price drop. I got my wish!
My apologies if this is not a terribly helpful review. Since I am still new at it best I can summarize is to say that it works and I am enjoying it very much.

This game was incredible. I want to play it again but I am exercising discipline. I didn’t know what to expect but the trailers and short gameplay releases gave me an inclining. The characters/voice actors, story, and gameplay was just altogether terrific. I don’t pay attention to video game awards and such but I sure hope this game got a lot of nominations. I really hope Naughty Dog continues the franchise. I am definitely up for playing another adventure with Chloe and Nadine. Worth the pickup. Got this on sale on Black Friday although I was prepared to pay full price. A nice little savings there.
If you like the series or RPGs in general and if you are not hung up and wallowing in dismay over the fact that Nathan Drake’s story has ended then you will like this game. Great cutscenes and just all around good. This game did not disappoint one iota. Wait, I take that back. I wish it was twice as long. Yeah, a bit too short but they told us that ahead of time so it wasn't unexpected.

What are the best settings if you want the player, not the TV, to upscale? I saw that Auto 2 should be set but what about output resolution? I don't see much difference between Auto and 4k. What about Original?
Not sure if you got your answer elsewhere but I am going strictly by memory here. I think you need to keep it on Auto for upscale to work. If you select 2160p it won't upscale anything that is less than that because that's what you selected as playback. It needs to read the lower quality in order to upscale it. I hope that makes some bit of sense to you. Also, I suggest you checkout a guy on YT called Mr4KUpscaler. His videos tend to be a bit long but he has been helpful more than once. He does a fairly thorough job with his review/setup of this player.
Lastly, make sure you are using the right type of HDMI cable. It needs to be premium certified. Monoprice and SecurOMax are two brands I can recommend. I stress this to anyone when talking about this stuff because I did not have a good cable when I got this player. So, I am speaking from experience.

If you are looking at the TV, what side are the hdmi/toslink ports on? left or right?
The TV comes with a connect box. It's like an HDMI hub so the ports are on the box. The Toslink port is there. I don't know how many it has I didn't pay that much attention but I do know there is at least one.
