My kids and I loved this movie. Minions is pure comedy. The movie is for children, but does have some appeal to adults. Its is certainly not meant to provide a special message to people. If you've see Despicable Me, you should already have figured that out. The trailers basically give an summary of the story line. A brief "history"/explanation of the minions is given in the beginning. The minions are in dismay without a leader. Three minions venture out to find someone, looking and looking. Since they are mischievous, its not someone well-mannered/polite they search for. It would not fit their personality. Once they find someone, the issue is still not fully solved. They must still "win" her over. Many mishaps take place, intentionally and not, leading to twists in the story line. The end is interesting. No point in going into details.
I give credit to the creativity. Illumination creates a movie were the main characters don't speak a given language, yet you can figure out what is being implied. (Their "language" a combo of gabbling, Spanish, French, and a little English. Go see the Despicable Me Extras if you don't believe me.) They were able to establish different personalities to the main 3 minion characters, yet keep the "minion" traits. Each primary and secondary character usually had their own style or uniqueness.

This was a joy to watch, innovative, with just the right blend of action, tension, family, incredible special effects, etc. Michael Douglas was fantastic as always, Paul Rudd took a strange role in a genre he is not used to and made it his own. Michael Pena was brilliant, and added some excellent comedic timing, with the lip syncing bits practically stealing the show. And Evangeline Lily, you simply have to appreciate for the ability to portray a strong, sexy woman who can hold her own, can still show some emotion, and all without relying on tactics like butt shots and thigh high slit skirts. As she was referred to in the film - "the mean pretty lady".
You'll laugh, you'll be astonished, you might even tear up a bit (not me, but maybe you), you'll cheer. As with all Marvel films, wait for the final credits to finish, and let the anticipation begin!

4 stars is high but for two reasons, 1: Keanu's acting is by far his best in many years. 2: Eli Roth manages to get humor in the one place I least expected it, the very end, and it works, or at least I was laughing. The film itself is okay, not bad, not great. The two female baddies are unexpectedly hot, especially the spanish gal(that accent) and equally scary when you don't know what they will do next. Two angry "teenage" girls with all the power and control and no one home or nearby for days? No thanks. From the moment the girls take over it gets pretty suspenseful and equally uncomfortable. I kinda felt helpless myself as I wondered "what would I do"?? The cinematography isn't very flashy or stylish but it doesn't really need to be. There is one sequence in the beggining with a nice long tracking shot showing the beautiful house and family photos on the wall, in the end the exact same shot occurs only this time showing the destruction the chicks left behind. I like the comparison. Keanu's acting is superb. It literally is the best I've seen him act, Eli must have some mind power over him because he rose to the occasion. When he gets hurt(and bad) I really REALLY bought his yelling and screaming. Its not the best role he has ever had, I'm saying he pulled out acting chops I had no idea he had. I believed he was terrified, I believed he was a father and husband. The 2nd and 3rd act, most of his dialogue was something I would have said, or the average person would have said, not really thinking EVERY LITTLE THING through like they do in a movie, but just acting on reflex/instinct. Wow Keanu, wow.

The Transporter Refueled is a reboot of the series and Ed Skerin takes the reigns as the main character of Frank Martin from Jason Statham in the original trilogy of movies and Chris Vance from the TV series. "Refueled" is about former special-forces operative Frank martin who transports various items for a living but he gets caught up in a scheme planned by a woman and her sidekicks to target a Russian kingpin as Frank's father visits him.
The Positives: Despite this being a piece of trash, there were a few positives. Like the other installments in the franchise, they have some great stunts and action here, the action is well choreographed and the stunts are Furious 7 unrealistic style but still pretty fun. Also Ray Stevenson who I think is a pretty good actor plays Franks dad and he's probably the best part of this movie. And that's IT for the positives....
The Negatives: I can go on and on.... First off, Ed Skerin who plays Frank Martin just isn't cut out for this and he just sucks and is clearly a wannabe Jason Statham here and he doesn't live up to Statham or even Vance who I thought was a surprisingly worthy Transporter in the TV show. Next, Frank Martin Sr and Jr, yup they pulled a Indy 3 and Franks dad is always calling him Jr and they show their names later and its Frank Martin Jr and Sr, that's a minor thing but they really didn't need to do that, it doesn't work for a Transporter movie. Also speaking of the dad, as much as I liked Ray Stevenson in this, his character isn't just kidnapped once, but MULTIPLE times by different people and even though he's described as a former spy, he is made to seem like he's such a damsel in distress here. Also the women who are trying to take down the kingpin have sad backstories, they are made to be so annoying. The main plot is pretty rushed and some of the moments in here are just plain CRINGEWORTHY. I heard that this was going to be the start of a new trilogy but hopefully they cancel those plans after this.
Overall, this is a pretty sad attempt of a reboot that flips off fans of the series and gets up there for being one of the worst movies of the year- 4/10 and I feel like that I'm being nice.

Code of Silence offers an excellent synergy and balance often missing in action films--especially other Chuck Norris action films.
I would say that this film showcases Norris' at his finest in acting. Yet he is very well cast as the lone, honest, resolute and uncompromising "good cop," Cusack, who confronts Columbian drug lords, the Mob and a dirty cop in his unit, all with equal aplomb--and comes out the winner in the end, even in the face of mounting, and nearly overwhelming, odds.
The fight scenes are well choreographed, too, with Norris delivering compact, effective and believable punches and kicks. He even takes a few himself, portraying a character capable of taking it as well as dishing it out.
For all the no-nonsense heroics, Norris manages to keep his tacit characterization very human and believable. In brief, Chuck Norris plays the quintessential Hero: committed to doing the right thing, and transcending himself in the process. I found the absence of token, gratuitous s3xual content, or even s3xual innuendo, refreshing indeed, and serving well to further signify and solidify the true heroicism of Cusack.
In addition to the excellent on-location filming, there are also well-placed touches of humor and tenderness that make this gem of an action-drama shine with exceptional luster.
Even if you are not an avid Chuck Norris fan, Code of Silence may make you sit up and take appreciative notice of him. File under "Top Shelf Police Action" on your DVD/BLU-RAY rack. This film is one of the best in the genre.

People forget that Owen Wilson did a good drama role as a Navy pilot in Behind Enemy Lines (2001). Forget the PC critics, this is a suspense action movie worth watching. An American family moving to Thailand (my guess) to make a new start. We take things for granted as Americans and expect to live overseas without difficulty or inconvenience.
This movie shows how quickly political climate can change in a country, 17 hours to be exact; for the Dwyer family. A simple story line that must have gone deep into the critics psyche. A family fighting for their life, trying to escape an internal civil war or a revolution without social order or peaceful demonstrations. Jack Dwyer (Owen Wilson) leaves the hotel to grab a newspaper, and sees the storm gathering in the streets. His life and his families will change for the worse right before his eyes. He takes off like a fugitive for his life to save his family back at the hotel. Critics are crying about the lack of a plot, it is what it is; a family fighting for survival while death surrounds them. A stranger who shares a common language, reaches out to help them; Hammond (Pierce Brosnan) who knows the land and it's people. A dynamic role for him, he lights up the screen as a guardian angel of sorts.
This movie delivers tension, action, life and death decisions that must be made, at a steady to fast pace. I haven't held my breath like this since the first Die Hard movie. A pleasant surprise in a sequel flashback summer of doldrums. It is rated R for a reason due to violence and blood, only those kids 16 and up should view this.

My sons LOVE Peppa Pig and while he enjoyed these episodes, but there is only ONE new Christmas short while the rest have been on TV numerous times. There were a number of new shorts for the holiday season such as Snowy Mountain and Santa's Grotto and I'm disappointed those were not included on this Christmas video. Very disappointing and misleading.

Now I'm a Nicolas Cage fan and a lot of his movies well more of his recent stuff have been average not his best work but average. Now in this film to me it was interesting and had me wanting more. The plot was good as it is a extremely scary thought of losing your child and not being able to find them at the time, I honestly like this movie up until the ending it was just to fake and cgi for me it should have been more realism but at the same time I like the ending as well, you would have to watch it as I'm not a giveaway type of person on how the movie rides...
