A worthy if not superior follow up to "The Force Awakens." Where TFA was basically a rehash of "A New Hope," TFA goes out of its way to forge a new path. Some may experience it as a great disturbance. But I did not. Characters were developed more and conflicts were intensified. For those who complain about that one scene, I just like to remind them that the Force made a baby.

Ferdinand hit every single trope and cliche possible and my daughter and I couldn't stop watching. John Cena was a totally unexpected surprise. I hope he continues to do more voice work. The charcter designs were wonderful. The "people" were a little too close to some Disney/Pixar designs but that's purely nitpicking.
Where the movie truly excelled was exploiting the "Pixar Formula," telling a story that resonates with all ages but packaging it in a kid's movie.

I returned to this movie with an open mind. Still find it lacking in a satisfying payoff. While Hugh Jackman and Lynn Collins are great in their roles, the rest of the ensemble is terribly miscast. At no point was I attached to any of them and the climactic fight with "Deadpool" was laughably bad. Watch it for Jackman.

Pixar returns to the tradition that made them great. Tell an entirely adult story and wrap it in something that can appeal to younger viewers. I really thought that the movie was going to fall flat but the level of craftsmanship and storytelling flair was on full display. An excellent addition to our Pixar library.

I love the FF. I can find positives in the previous two films just as I can with this one. It's just that this film suffers from such a precipitous decline once the FF get their powers and Victor/Doom is revealed it can't recover.
Miles Teller tries so hard but he's not served by a good script and the wigs used on Kate Mara are worse than a dollar store would sell.

The movie that started it all for better or for worse. For Batman fans like myself, this was an amazing retelling of the Batman story. Sadly WB chose this as a model for ALL of their movie characters. Not a good move.
One thing that I thought was interesting was the color choice for the packaging. Batman Begins has a brown color scheme throughout most of the scenes with Batman and I had wondered if Nolan went back and color changed all those scenes. Fear not. The movie is as it was just more amazing to look at.
