This movie is so good that there isn't much that can be said about it. The 4K format is excellent and the picture is crystal clear. Bale and Ledger made for a great adversarial relationship and one wonder what more they could have done were it not for his untimely passing.

James Cameron's cybernetic creation returns in 4K! An amazing film on its own but stellar in this new format. The only drawback is that while watching this on my 65" Samsung UHD TV, it was very clear when stunt doubles were used in some dangerous scenes. But don't let that stop you from sitting back and enjoying the best of the Terminator sequels.

The Dark Knight Rises brings to a close Christopher Nolan's epic reboot of the Batman movie franchise. Watching this in 4K was an amazing experience. The colors were rich and lush and the shadows, at times, were as dark as the black letterbox bars. A fitting finale.

A bit pricey but super fast

Pulled the trigger on this. Wasn't comfortable shipping away all of my old family photos to a person who I never met. I have boxes and boxes of pictures of different sizes from my father's house.
Just group the pictures of similar size and subject together, place them in the hopper, and press the little blue button. The scanning is ridiculously fast and accurate.
Depending on the setting, you can get a straight scan or a straight scan along with and enhanced/corrected scan.
If you have a Mac, avoid the downloadable upgrade. For some reason it disables the scanning button on the unit and you have to use the drop down menus,

I like this more than the animated version

Finally, some explanation about key issues that I always had the animated version and some fixes. Disney manages to fix some of the issues that always bothered me about the animated version. The Prince is now an appropriate age to warrant such a punishment, there is an explanation as to why the entire village forgets the castle and its occupants, and there is a thoughtful reason as to why the enchanted servants stay with the Beast.
The music is still just as good and the additional set pieces enhance the story not detract. An excellent film.

LOGAN is easily the second best of the Marvel sequels, and the fact that it's not a "Marvel Studios" movie makes that even more impressive. Rising to the level of The Winter Solder, LOGAN tells a story that involves super heroes and not super heroes involved in a story. There truly is a difference.
The movie was filled with the full gamut of emotions and all the actors came with their "A" game. Hugh Jackman has embodied Logan/Wolverine for so long, I'm sure he's not sure where he begins or ends. So natural was his performance that you really have a hard time imagining him not being The Wolverine. Highly recommended. NOT for the kids!!

This is what 4K was meant for. I have seen this movie countless times on standard bluray and my mind and eyes were blown away watching this in 4K. Small details that I missed like the words on starships were clear as day.

Wow! Just...Wow!
I saw this with low expectations and was justly blown away. The story, the music, the characters everything was note perfect. See what I did there? Everyone involved really brought forth their "A" game. There is seriously nothing I can think about this movie that needs or should be changed. Every storyline has a purpose and a payoff, even Seth Macfarlane's obnoxious, yet talented Mike the Mouse has a satisfying character arc. Not fully redeemed but he's not the callous guy he portrays himself to be.
There are a lot of father issues in here, and this movie resonates on an adult and child level in the tradition set by Pixar.

Why the bad hype?

No, it wasn't perfect but, I'm not really sure why it was savaged the way it was. "Passengers" was an above average sci-fi movie that we have seen before. what brought it a bit on the high side was the excellent production design. This was a really beautiful movie to look at.
Pratt and Lawrence did a fine job with a script that wasn't too deep but did venture into uncomfortable territory regarding the effects of loneliness and isolation. I wonder if the studio got involved in the critical third act and altered the direction the ending seemed to be heading towards.
The 4K picture is stunning and filled with deep rich colors.

Better Than Force Awakens

Not sure what it was, yes there were battle scenes in both but there was just something about Rogue One that made it seem more significant. There was a level of realism that was too glossy in TFA. Both were excellent entries into the Star Wars mythology, but I think that R1 is going to stand the test of time slightly better.
