Best 90s Indie Comedy Of All Time
on August 15, 2016

"Empire Records" was one of my first indie films following Kevin Smith's first couple back in the 90s. It's a story of a day in the life of the employees of a record store and their various ups and downs, trials and tribulations, and a visiting Rock Star after a misunderstanding sends the closing manager Lucas to Atlantic City where he loses all of the store income from the previous day.
To tell you more would be doing a disservice to this hilarious ensemble comedy staring Rene Zellweger, Ethan Embry, Robin Tunney, Liv Tyler, Anthony LaPaglia, etc. It's crazy, its not at all serious, and the soundtrack is amazing if you have any love for the 90s alternative rock scene.
Best of all this is the original theatrical version, not the Fan Remix extended version. Normally the extended cuts are better and that one is fine but I prefer this version as it's just a bit better paced and moves better. Blu-ray has a series of deleted scenes which was a fun added bonus I hadn't expected before ordering.

Nestled deep in the mountains, Kyrat is a dangerous and stunning world, and you find it transformed under the malevolent rule of a despotic, self-appointed king.Step into the dangerous world of Far Cry 4 as you experience the heart-pounding shooter action you've come to expect from the Far Cry series in a thrilling new world. Journey deep into the Himalayas to Kyrat, a breathtaking, perilous and wild region. Explore an expansive open world where anything can happen and danger hovers all around you. Big Explode-y Stupid Fun!

Far Cry 4 improves on the awesome improvements made by the last game (Far Cry 3) by introducing co-op play and custom maps/game modes for multiplayer or single player challenges.
The draw for me is always the single player story campaign and this one was really good! You come to Kryat to spread your mother's ashes and get tangled up in a fight for freedom between an evil dictator and a rebellion torn between tradition and evolving to the modern age. Your choices during the game will shape the outcome of the people of Kryat (although it wasn't as noticeable as I'd hoped).
Highly recommend this if you like shooter games or stupid action such as Just Cause 2 or GTA.

Even As Freebie It's Not Worth It

I pre-ordered Arkham Knight and was given this "controller and charge base skin" as a free gift. Totally unaware of this I was super excited however when you get it open it's just stickers to put on your controller and charge base. The charge base isn't something I've seen and the sticker that goes on it features the leaping Batman art from the game box. The controller sticker features mostly black and gray background art from the box and the tips of Batman's cape on the very tip of the controller handles.
Not sure what they charge for these things but it's not worth it. You're better off either ordering a custom skin online somewhere or just buy a colored controller because this is just lame.

Face the consequences of your choices in The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt for the PlayStation 4. Its complex open world lets you roam cities, mysterious islands and forgotten caverns as you seek a child whose destiny could save or destroy the world. Employ magic and superhuman skills to forge your own path in The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt.

Everything You Love, Nothing You Don't

This is just a very basic recommendation as the game alleges to have 200 hours of content and there is just NO WAY I'll finish before reviewing. This is a 3rd person RPG action adventure where you play a monster hunter entangled in regional politics, alliances and rivalries, romance and violence....I mean this game is just STUFFED full of drama and coolness! Highly recommend the game.
Note: When it was first released it suffered technical issues however I've been playing for 20 hours now and haven't encountered more glitching so as of June 6th it should be good to go!

More Great Mortal Kombat (But Not Best)
on April 17, 2015

About four years ago Mortal Kombat 9 was released and it introduced an awesome story mode which allowed you to play a few fights with most of the characters, they included a tower with 200 mini objectives to hone and perfect skills, and the core concept of a tight fighter online or local we'd come to love all built in. Now we have Mortal Kombat X and it gave every indication of taking the awesome previous game and improving on it. Sadly that's not fully the case although the ground work of story mode, challenge towers (sort of), and core fighting are all here.
The story mode was my favorite and it's here and fine but very short and kind of boring. The challenge tower from before and now we have "Living Towers" which aren't active yet so I can't speak to that. New to this entry is Faction Wars where you select one of five groups and that becomes your clan allowing special finishing Fatalities. You earn points to rank up and on occasion battles between clans or invasions from other characters. This stuff works both online or offline and offers special daily, weekly, and even hourly challenges such as win a fight without special moves, take damage when jumping, fight on the ceiling, etc.
The series is moving away from the roster of fighters we've known for years and introduces a new generation of good and bad guys plus brings along the cream of the fan favorite crop (Sub-Zero, Scorpion, Raiden, etc.). Also back are Brutality finishers although they're more like fatalities and will require certain feats to be achieved during the fight (such as doing a 13 hit combo as well as landing the last punch with an uppercut or something along those lines). So far no Friendships or Babalities although that could come along later. Also there's some unrest on forums because extra characters again cost $5.00, you can now buy "easy fatality" coins which allow you to do a disgusting finishing move with only two buttons (they are so much more gory and gross now then ever before both in a good way and a bad way), and of course costume packs for a few bucks if cosmetic looks of the fighters matters to you.
It's a step down from the last game which really shined as the best since MK2 but it's far and away better than most of the latter games of the PS2 era.

When the end of days comes you may not have a credit card or a debit card to supply online, heck even today with fraud and scammers it's a scary business to bring your 16 digit finance identification number online! That's why these PSN cards are so brilliant and awesome! You bring cash, card, check, money order, bottle caps, etc. to Best Buy and they let you walk out with one of these cards to plug in online instead. Your money is safe, your PSN account is full, and you're ready to game! It's a win/win situation that can't be beat!!! A++++ would do business with again!

I have a PS3, a Vita, and the PS4 but what I didn't have was enough points on my PSN account to buy Transistor when it released a few weeks back. I walked into Best Buy and gave them $10.00 and I got a PSN point card for that EXACT same value. It was a seamless transaction, I'd highly encourage anyone with a PSN account who wants to spend money online without giving their credit card info to use PSN point cards instead. A++++ would do business with again!

Capture special occasions and home movies on reliable Sony 8mm videotape.

What’s the difference between these tapes? Any difference at all?

User submitted photo
Well its a four pack, there isn't any difference between each tape its just that you get four of them instead of just one. They all will function with as much quality as a cassette tape is capable of in this day and age.

the games of psp go are the same of psp 3000?

Not quite. As I understand it the PSP Go is a download only system, the games are the same but it doesn't have a UMD drive so you can't play your original PSP games with a PSP Go, it's like trying to make toast with a slot-less toaster!

my PSP doesn't load most games from umd drive. its in perfect condition besides that. if I brought it in could you fix it for me

I've never used Geek Squad but they should be able to at least troubleshoot the problem for you. However this will be a big expense for an outdated console, you'd be better served I think by doing an online chat or calling Sony to have them walk through some troubleshooting steps and then if it's broken they should still be able to repair it for you for what it would cost you to just have Geek Squad troubleshoot without repairs.
