Too Dark On Non-OLED Switch

The game itself is a compelling return to form for the Metroid 2D series; the atmosphere is eerie and mysterious, the combat is quick and tense (when you learn to parry properly) and the story is presented well through cutscenes and environmental story telling techniques, blending modern and old school styles into one cohesive package.
My only gripe with this game is that the picture is too dark/dim on non-OLED model Switches in handheld mode. I still own an original 2017 model Switch, so when I went from docked to handheld mode the picture was noticeably darker and dimmer than it seemed it should be. Even turning up the brightness to maximum barely helped the picture appear bright enough on the system's screen. Since this issue is not present in other games like Smash Bros. or Luigi's Mansion, it leads me to believe that this game was designed more so with the OLED model Switch in mind, leaving the game to appear dimmer on older models. So if you are like me with an older Switch, know that you may have similar trouble being able to see the game in hand-held mode.

My First Blu-ray from Shout Factory

This was one of my first purchases of Blu-ray distributed by Shout Factory. I've heard that they do excellent restoration work and put out films with high quality Blu-ray transfers, and this film mostly lives up to that hype. The picture quality is as great as can be expected for a 90's anime film; no noticeable artificial picture enhancements, colors are vibrant without being over saturated, and the lines of the art are well defined and free of digitally jagged edges. The sound mix for the Japanese track is also great, with all voices and sounds remaining distinct and nothing sounded muffled. My only minor gripe is that the picture can look a little jittery at times, which is mainly noticeable during the beginning credits or when there is text on the screen. Overall, a near perfect transfer from Shout Factory.

The 4k Blu-ray is such a worthwhile upgrade over the 1080p Blu-ray. The colors are so vibrant and lively, and the detail is so rich and clean, and at the same time overall picture retains enough of the film grain so that it doesn't loose it's cinematic luster. Best way so far too experience this timeless classic.

Great Film, Good Blu-ray Transfer, Awful Cover Art

The film itself is great, a childhood classic that is just as good, if not better, to revisit as an adult.
The picture is great quality on blu ray most of the time, and the blend of 2D and 3D animation elements hold up well. Though it is worth noting that there are occasionally moments where colors are dull and other moments when spots, minor scratches and other imperfections from the film transfer are noticeable.
Sound quality (heard through 5.1 surround sound system) is good too, with consistent volume levels and no music, dialogue or sound effects ever sound muddled or distorted.
The only negatives are lack of special features (only commentary and featurets transferred from the original DVD release) and the awful cover art design of the Blu-ray package. I'll likely be resort to printing a custom case of my own to replace it. Otherwise, this is still a very good way to experience such a classic film.

This game made for a worthy send off to the PS4 generation by one of Sony's first party studios. With the story and general progression systems feeling akin to games from the PS3 era while featuring a deep combat system and well developed open world expected modern day titles, Ghost of Tsushima ends up feeling familiar and refreshing all at the same time. The only weak aspect of the experience is the limited illusion of choice presented throughout the game, and how little those choices actually impact the narrative, though it's still an improvement over such issues that were present in the Infamous games. All things considered, Ghost of Tsushima is a high quality game with plenty to offer in terms of narrative, gameplay, and replayability with the new game plus and multiplayer modes that were added post launch.

Great External Storage for Playstation

Works great as extended storage for Playstation systems. On PS4, it's recognized right away and ready to use after formatting to the system, and games loaded onto the T7 load quickly and run smoothly.
If you intend to use it only with PS4, you can save some money by getting the T5 instead, as the 3.0 USB ports on PS4 are unable to allow the T7 to reach its top transfer speeds. But if you intend to use the external ssd with the PS5, then the T7 is more worthwhile because that system can support the top transfer speeds through USB 3.2 Gen 2 connection. Tests I found online show that PS4 games stored on the T7 with PS5 load and perform just as well as when those games are stored on the system's internal storage. A worthwhile investment to play and preserve your PS4 games for the new gen.

Looking into getting this review removed

While I'm looking into getting this review removed, I wanted to leave this comment in the meantime for why I'm doing so and to offer some additional info around correcting the brightness issue I had with the game originally.
First and foremost, it turned out my system's auto-brightness setting was the cause of making the game look dark and dull in handheld mode. Once I turned it off and adjusted the brightness myself on the system level, the issue was immediately corrected.
Secondly, I originally intended the rating to be 4 stars, as I still felt the game itself is fun and exceptionally well made. Somehow it saved and uploaded with 3 stars instead, which was not my intention.
As I mentioned before, I will be reaching out to customer service to have this review pulled down for its inaccuracies. But until that request goes through, hopefully this comment helps to correct the errors of my original review.

This switcher will work with devices that display in 4K resolution or lower.

I have used a Nintendo Switch with this device and it works. I do not own an Amazon Firestick, but I have seen posts of other people saying that it does not work.

Do I need to buy extra plugs for the output? I have a cable plug and a Rocu with a plug but does the output plug come with the device?
You will need another 4K capable HDMI cable for the output. This product only comes with the switcher and power cable.

what does it mean 4K and HDH Pass-through. are all of the ports actually 4K? I have a 4k blueray player and 4K satellite dish, but only 1 4K input on my TV.
All three inputs support real 4K. So as long as you plug the device into the 4K input of your TV, then everything will display in 4K. HDR pass through means that if your devices have HDR features and your TV can display HDR, then this device will allow HDR to work. This is advertised because past hdmi switchers have supported 4K, but not HDR.
