An old computer I have managed to keep running for almost 20 years now is so old I cannot buy an internal BR DVD player for it anymore. This external USB-connected device resolved the issue.

Bought a series of drives to be used as replacement in my home server, with the intent of not only replacing bad drives, but to also increase total memory. I'm particular about using only 7200 rpm drives, and this turned out to be a great buy. Server is back on-line now with over 63 TB of memory.

Turn your powerline into a high-speed network with this TP-LINK AV600 Nano TL-PA4010KIT kit, which features compatibility with HomePlug AV, 802.3 and 802.3u Internet standards and a data transfer rate of up to 600 Mbps. AES encryption protects your data.

Hey l, my house only has phone lines and no Ethernet ports. Could this be a short cut.

I'm not sure what you are trying to accomplish here. If you only have phone service and no Ethernet, you are off the grid, so to speak.
These units act as Ethernet extensions so at least one Ethernet port must be available for them to work.

So I just purchased a HP laptop for work and it doesn't have an ethernet port, so I had to purchase an adapter separately. Will this work with an Ethernet-USB adapter ???

I have an HP laptop that randomly decides to go into airplane mode and turns off the WiFi, isolating it from the home network and from the internet. My solution to the problem was to use a pair of these units as Ethernet extensions to that laptop. It functioned for several years in that mode, until one of the paired units failed.

WHAT MBPS speed will it support

It's documentation claims that it will support up to 1GB of bandwidth. I have used a pair to stream HD video to my TV for several years until one of the units failed. Up to that point, the pair had no issue supporting HD streaming to the TV AND to a remote computer.

Is This In-Store?

It is not clear to me what you mean by the term "in-store". I don't believe I was ever able to find these units in any store, but rather always had to find and order them on-line.
I don't know if this answers your question or not.

So do the two adapters need to be on the same electrical circuit? I ask because all my power in the basement runs on its own circuit, and is definitely not on the same circuit as my existing router today.

They are designed to operate on the same circuit, though I have had several units operating on different circuits for some years now.

Will this provide internet to a pc in a remote building 250' away on the same electrical service as my router in the house ?

According to the documentation, it should work. I have had several units in my condo operating on different circuits for a few years, though none of my condo wiring runs come close to what you're trying to do.

Does this product increase download and upload speeds on the ps5 or any gaming console?

Not that I'm aware of. Your upload and download speeds are controlled by your ISP.

Can I use this to hook up a cordless phone? I do not have an available telephone jack

A pair of these devices can be used as Ethernet extensions. If you have a traditional land-line, they won't work.
If you have Ethernet-based phone service, they should work just fine.

What is the difference between 2.0 and 3.0 hub

That's a question best answered by searching the internet. The short answer is that 3.0 is close to 10 times faster than 2.0.

Will this work with a Lenovo Flex 5 laptop?

The unit I bought is connected to a Lenovo laptop. I am not familiar with a Flex 5 model, but if it has a USB output, this device will certainly add multiple USB outputs that might not currently exist.
