makes tv look like it has down syndrome

very difficult to set up, the camera picks up any and all light reflected against the panel of the tv and the color are often inaccurate. the camera makes every tv it is attached to as if it has down syndrome.

great price, weird behavior

I am the IT Manager for a home builder and we have purchased several of these TVs for our sales models. For whatever reason, even when the TV is powered off, power is still supplied to the USB port on the back by the HDMI inputs. In some applications, we use the Microsoft Wireless Display adapter for our staff in the field to wirelessly connect to when giving a presentation to whomever... with the power never being cut to the USB port powering whatever is plugged into it, more often then not, the device connected fails without the power cycling that would come with power not being continuous. Smart plugs have helped bridge the gap but I feel having to do so is an oversight of the manufacturers poor product design. Otherwise, great picture!

So, I think the principal behind this device is fantastic... it ties into the Sonos ecosystem allowing for easy control over your home network of music for single and multiroom audio applications. At 500 bucks, the price is excessive. The only benefit to the Sonos ecosystem is that it can be controlled and automated in smart home automation applications. For example, it can tie into a Harmony Hub function that can be activated through the Samsung Smartthings Hub, when you walk into a room, a motion sensor can determine your presence and then activate music playing with other automations. The benefit to this and the Sonos Ecosystem ends there. Most other manufacturers are using DTS PlayFi for multiroom and single room wifi media controlled applications. You can get a DTS PlayFi device (the Klipsch Gate for example) for 70 bucks and use your existing amp to power your speakers and have the same capability as this 500 amp. There is also the Klipsch Gate Amp which goes for the half the price as this and does exactly the same thing.

I bought this TV on Nov/22/18 and in less than 3 months, the lines were all over the place. Also, there was an area that looked like cracked from inside. I reached out to the LG customer service, going back and ford, and they first decided to send a technician to take a look into it. I was OK with that, but they wanted to charge me over $100 for only the visit. I refused that and wanted to speak with a supervisor to give me a resolution for this issue. Therefore I eventually spoke with an executive supervisor and they kept telling me that, according to the pictures that I sent, because there is a crack in the panel, the ONE YEAR WARRANTY does not cover that.
WHAT DOES THE ONE YEAR WARRANTY COVER THEN?
I informed them that nothing touch the TV. This is again all from the inside panel; the outside screen is not broken or something. Also, I forgot to mention that when I got the TV, after couple days, I noticed that the outside screen is NOT installed properly. What I mean by that is if I pushed the outside screen from all the sides, left/right/up/down, by my finger, the screen will go inside and will leave a big gab; however, they said this is relevant to the issue. If it is relevant to the issue, it should be gab only on the area that looks like it is cracked, left-bottom side, not all the sides of the TV. I should have returned it when I saw the gap, but I unfortunately didn't, and I think I will be taking the long way to get a resolution for this issue.
Finally, I want to say that the TV has a great picture with great features, and I just wanted to post my experience here, so everyone is aware of this.

Purchased on sale and worth it at a sale price. Especially since HDR 10 and Dolby Vision are now supported. Note that when using devices for Dolby Vision, that they need to be plugged into either input port 2 or 4 with a high speed cable. Took me a while to figure this out.
The box worked flawlessly since purchase, for about 4 months. However, now the lights are really lagging. Like they are stuttering between color changes. It gets progressively worse then all the lights shut off and restart. This happens every 4 to 6 minutes and is now a distraction. This just started within the last 2 weeks. I may bring back to Best Buy to exchange under the protection plan.
Is it an item you need? No. Do you have extra funds and hue lights around your tv area, and would like to enhance your viewing experience? Then purchase it.
Be sure to get the protection plan on this if you purchase. The tech is new with a lot going on, so anything could happen to the box.
