I just submitted a review for the dumpster fire known as Morbius (hated it)! But unlike that film, this one I really, REALLY enjoyed! For some reason when DC does a stand alone apart from the DCEU, they are better (i.e. Joker). Prior to this Batman film, The Dark Knight was my favorite film of the Batman films; now it's my 2nd favorite! The special features are worth watching too!
Having learned the nuances of a mentalist act during his stint as a carny, calculating drifter Stanton Carlisle (Bradley Cooper) headed for New York to establish himself as a society psychic. However, his overreach in partnering with corrupt psychologist Lilith Ritter (Cate Blanchett) in order to better fleece the big town's elite will come with a shattering price. Guillermo del Toro's stylishly foreboding redo of the 1947 noir staple also stars Rooney Mara, Toni Collette, Willem Dafoe, Richard Jenkins. 150 min. Widescreen; Soundtrack English.

Guillermo Del Toro has made another hit that I really liked! Visually the cinematography is breathing but it's the performances by the star-studded cast that will leave your head spinning for days! I have never seen the original 1947 version, but somehow I think this film has captured the film noir of the original except in muted colors (like most of GDT's films). Only downside it the special features on the blu-ray contain only 3 short BTS clips.

After warching the first episode on YouTube (I don't have cable to watch on SyFy) I was hooked. The story picks up not long after the last film - Cult of Chucky(2017) -and gets incredibly insaner as the death count escalates! A lot of familiar faces pop up along the way, including Andy Barkley (Alex Vincent), the original owner of Chucky from the original film CHILD'S PLAY (1988)! It's also very nice to see the level of diversity present in this series! Definately Child's Play for a new generation as well as for fans of the film franchise. However, the 2019 reboot is completely ignored this time around.
Outed as Spider-Man at the windup of InchFar from Home,Inch Peter Parker (Tom Holland) faces devastating repercussions for himself and his loved ones. Turning to Dr. Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch) for a mystic mindwipe on all who learned his identity, the consequences bring a host of alternate-reality Spider-foes like the Green Goblin (Willem Dafoe), Dr. Octopus (Alfred Molina), and Electro (Jamie Foxx) to his plane-and Pete looks to surprising allies for the cleanup. Much-anticipated Spidey saga co-stars Zendaya, Jacob Batalon, Marisa Tomei, Jon Favreau. 148 min. Widescreen; Soundtrack English. Two-disc set.

I had been so excited waiting for this film to come out and all I can say is that it was WORTH THE WAIT! Watching it in the theater on the big screen was amazing and watching this 4K version on my large screen was fabulous! The special features included are great too! Spider-Man fans (of both the Raimi trilogy and The Amazing Spider-Man films) will REALLY enjioy this film!

I really enjoyed this star packed film. If you like Agatha Christie and Sherlock Holmes stories (and like the game Clue), then you might really enjoy this film. Daniel Craig, Jamie Leigh Curtis, Chris Evans, LaKeith Stanfield, Toni Collette, Christopher Plummer, and Ana de Armas all give top notch performances (as does the entire ensemble)! I laughed alot while watching this film in part due to the excellent writing. The special features are worth checking out too. I saw this after I saw No Time To Die (also starring Craig and de Armas) and can honestly say that the performances of both of those actors that film is so very different from their performances in this film. Both stellar performances! All in all, Knives Out is fun viewing for the PG-13 crowd. I heard that a sequel is on the way and I can't wait to see that!

Although I really like films by M. Night Shyamalan they have always been "hit" (The Sixth Sense, Signs, Split, etc.) or "miss" (The Happening, After Earth, The Last Airbender, etc.) IMO. That being said, I am on the fence with this one. On the one hand, the cinematography, performances, and music are fantastic. On the other hand it's like it seems to jump from one genre to another and then another one that eventually leads up to a twist (like most Shyamalan films). Although I stayed with it to the very end, I was a bit let down by the resolution. Now I want to read the graphic novel that it's based on. The blu-ray contains a few BTS clips that were interesting (especially how and where it was filmed on location).

If you like Mike Flanagan's work (Haunting of Hill House, Haunting of Bly Manor, Midnight Mass, etc.) and liked Kubrick"s film adaptation of Stephen King's The Shining (1980) then you may like this film. But if you never saw THE SHINING before, you may be scratching your head watching this film. I strongly recommend watching Kubrick's classic film first! I really liked Kubrick's film (sorry, Mr. King) because it's one those films that will stick with you long after you have watched it. It was the source of many nightmares for me since 1980, but I digress... Full disclosure, Doctor Sleep is one of the few books written by King that I haven't read yet. So I can't say which is better. I usually prefer the book to the film, but the film is pretty good IMO. Definitely a film for fans of The Shining (book and film)! Creepy at times but rather entertaining. Two disc set includes both the theatrical and director's cuts of the film. Plus a few BTS features.
Interstellar opens on Earth in the distant future, as Mother Nature is waging war on humanity. Famine is widespread, and all of mankind's resources are now dedicated to farming in a desperate fight for survival. A former NASA pilot and engineer named Cooper (Matthew McConaughey) has become a homesteader in order to support his teenage son Tom (Timothee Chalamet) and 10-year-old daughter Murph (Mackenzie Foy). Unfortunately, even that begins to look like a futile endeavor after a sandstorm ravages their close-knit community. Meanwhile, a seemingly supernatural mystery begins to unfold when the InchghostInch that dwells in Murph's room sends her a mysterious set of coordinates - which lead the curious father/daughter duo to a clandestine underground base housing the remnants of NASA. There, renowned physicist Professor Brand (Michael Caine) has been working with a team of astronauts and scientists to find a new planet capable of sustaining human life. Brand quickly persuades Cooper to pilot a mission that will hopefully carry the seeds of human life to a habitable planet in another galaxy. Cooper is soon bound for space with Brand's daughter Amelia (Anne Hathaway) and researchers Doyle (Wes Bentley) and Romilly (David Gyasi).

I missed this Nolan film when it was first released in the theaters. Picture-wise the 4K quality is beautiful to watch on screen. Slow at times but it never stops pulling you into the narrative despite it's lengthy 3hr running time. Great cast (including Oscar winners: McConaughey, Hathaway, Chastain, Burstyn, Caine, Damon and Casey Affleck). I sometimes find that (with the exception of his "Dark Knight" trilogy) I can really appreciate a Nolan film after a couple of views due to the non-linear storytelling (Memento, Inception, Tenet). This is no different. This 3-disc set contains the feature in 4K and Blu-ray, plus an addiction blu-ray disc with over 3 hours of BTS special features (which is helpful if you didn't "get it" after watching the film the second time around.

I had seen the first film (Alien Vs. Predator) a while ago. It was entertaining. I didn't even know that a sequel had been made. I get get the idea of merging two different franchises sounds good on paper, however, the question is why these two? I liked the Alien films and I liked the first two Predator films but does that mean they should come together? Both features include both theatrical and unrated (really just more gore) on each disc. The picture quality is great, but it hardly saves either the storylines IMO. I think the only people that I would recommend this purchase to are film buffs and budding filmmakers for the BTS stuff, otherwise both films are available on streaming services.

I have been wait it seems like forever to see this film. I think the fans of the franchise may be pleased with the outcome. Neo and Trinity are back and better than ever! Excellent FX and fight choreography!
