Great When It Works

Purchased this to replace and upgrade my older Sony that didn't have Dolby Atmos.
I was impressed by the performance and richness that this AVR produced on my Definitive Technology surround system. But in a matter of days I noticed that while I was getting sound I wasn't getting a signal on TV screen. I was hoping that it was just a bad HDMI cable so I replaced it but I still was getting no signal. I even purchased a Panamax M5300-PM thinking that maybe my electrical power needed some line conditioning. I though that did it when I got a signal on my TV screen but my problem was back again when I tried to use my AVR after I left my system off overnight.
I then experimented by unplugging the AVR to restart it and I got my signal back on my TV. So every time I turned off my AVR for a long period of time I would need to unplug it to view my shows on TV. I read similar issues with this AVR in the reviews on Best Buy and on the internet. I found this unacceptable for a $1000 AVR so I returned it.
The problem was that Best Buy didn't many AVRs in stock at the time. Luckily, they had a Sony STRDN1080 which is Dolby Atmos capable. While not as rich sounding as the Marantz it is consistent with producing a great picture on my TV and cost nearly half the price of the Marantz.
