Great restoration.

Steven King may hate this movie, but it’s truly fantastic and even better on 4K! It seems like when anyone tinkers with his story’s Steven King gives it a thumbs down. But movies tell story’s different than book do. Sometimes people prefer the movie sometimes people prefer the book and sometimes people like both. It’s impossible to get all the little details of a great book into 2 hours of screen time. In the case of Stanley Kubircks view of The Shining I think he did a great job of getting the story right, but changing some things to fit his vision of the book. I love both King and Kubrick and they both have some significant stories to unravel. Bottom line is a lot of Steven Kings books don’t translate well to a movie (I can count more flops than successes) think about The Dome (2 successful seasons then it turned into a laughable mess). Pet Cemetery has been made remade and remade again. They get the story to a point, but they all have flaws. But this is about the Shining which you either love or hate it. If you love the movie you’ll love it more on 4K. Based on early reviews of Dr Sleep I’m not sure the story continues to be as good as The shining. But I’m withholding judgment on that. What I do know is the shining is a great Kubrick interpretation of a great Steven king thriller. Perfectly cast and now we get a fantastic restoration that has a better picture and better sound track! Pick it up!

Baseball love story!

This is about as good as a Baseball movie gets and more romantic than Bull Durham and more for a serious drama than the BD comedy. These two along with Field of dreams make a nice trilogy. The blu Ray has some new extras and the 4K looks great!

Great 4K makes the movie better

Ok, Waterworld is known as a flop! However, the movie was killed before it was even released because of bad press! The movie to this day has turned a profit of at least 10 million! Not bad for a flop? I won’t argue this is a great movie, but far from a flop and not just cause of money. Some of the shots in this film are Epic. Watching Costner whizzing across the water in a very cool looking ship is just one. Some of the shadow shots with the beautiful Hawaiian sunset as a backdrop make for some great shots. The Atoll where much of the Waterworld community lived was a gigantic set built using basically every piece of iron in Hawaii! There’s some great stuff here! You have 2 new choices this 4K version or a 3 disc set from Arrow that includes the infamous Ulysses cut (basically a fan created cut of the film) SPOILER: Its called the Ulysses cut because of the name given to Costner’s character at the end of the movie. The arrow blu Ray has great extras and we here from the people who made the film minus Costner (a big missing piece), but 3 cuts of the film and extras is a nice package and if you’re a completist this would be for you. But a cheaper way to go to see the best visual version of the film is this 4K disc! It also comes with a second longer cut of the film on blu Ray. No other extras. I actually am enough of a fan (not in my top 100) and Also a completist so I bought both. I would recommend the 4K for someone not interested in extras because it’s a film where you definitely can see the difference in quality from blu Ray to 4K. Plus you can watch the extended version that does give you more info about the characters and a special surprise Planet of the Apes ending. For under 20 bucks it’s definitely worth the buy. 4 stars is high given some flat acting, but the visuals and sound track on 4K makes it 4 stars!

Both Bob Odenkirk and Rhea Seahorn should have been shoe ins fir Golden Globes. The show should have also won and I’m a huge Americans fan which also had a fantastic season. Mathew Rys won (happy for him he was great), but Odenkirk was special. The fact the show and actors didn’t get nominated was a huge slap!

With 50 plus games it’s hard to believe there are still games missing. Sonic 3 and Sonic and Knuckles not here. We could have done without Flicky, but most of Segas great classics are here. Perhaps a volume 2 will fill in some of the missing titles, but this is still a great compilation of Sega greats.

The Piranha Plant first emerged in the underground of the Super Mario Bros. game. A frequent obstacle for the Mario brothers to overcome, there have been many variations of these vicious vegetables.

This was the better way to go if you aren’t into extras. Especially the infamous 6 producers cut. Not sure why, but this box set that disc has no extras, while the 15 disc set has them. Most of the other 5 discs are for true die hard fans. Was shocked at how cheap this was at Best Buy with all the hype of the 2018 release. The 15 disc box is going for well over 200. I have them both, but would only recommend the expensive one for completist!

The price was recently raised and these were released as a new model - now being called Arcade1up Marvel Pinball II. Are there any known changes from the first edition?
Can you get an extended warranty? If something goes wrong who comes down to fix it? Is this hard to assemble? Thanks
I had the original model at $599 but it did not work out of the box. Now I am seeing all of these positive reviews. I was wondering did arcade1up fix the issues with the originalpinball machine and now it works fine?
There was a fix you could get from Arcade 1up. Go to the website and fill out a ticket and describe your problem. 1up will send you a response asking for a picture of you 1up pinball that includes the serial number. Then you should receive a link with a download to fix your pinball. You’ll need a PC with windows 10. If you get nowhere or it takes too long search YouTube for a fix (may find an even better solution). Best wishes

If you check Arcade1ups site you should be able to fine the exact dimensions. With the riser these are about 5ft high w/o 4ft and about 2 feet wide. They also have coffee tables that are sit down units and also just announced very small portable units between 30-50 dollars.

My last SD card I had for my Switch burnt out in a few months despite me barely even using most of the storage on it. Is this one btter built so that it will be more reliable for use with the Switch?
Not sure what maker you used. This is made by Scan Disc not Nintendo or a cheap 3rd party. Scan disc is usually a solid quality disc. I certainly hope this one won’t burn out fast and based on the regular price it shouldn’t. If you tried a cheap company to get a better price that may be the issue, but most people trust scan disc and I’ve never had a problem.
