As usual, did my research with “Consumer Report” who gave this unit a very nice review. One of the best they said. I should have listened to SEVERAL Best Buy purchasers of this unit, who said it was “ineffective.”
After owning and running constantly (in a small bedroom) for three weeks, I am extremely disappointed with this air filter. This was Honeywell’s largest unit. I almost “overbought” but I wanted to clear out dust and pollen. It did NEITHER ! I had relatively high expectations of a “HEPA-style” filter. What I bought has not cleared any dust issues. I re-dusted and cleaned ALL bedroom surfaces (fresh start, right?). Dust re-appeared within 48 hours. Air did not feel fresh. Probably was NOT fresh.
“BUYER REMORSE” Big Time.
Again, I live by “Give people and items the benefit of the doubt.” This product fails. If it cannot filter relatively easy dust, it will never be able to clear out pollen and allergens.

If you enjoyed/appreciated the original as a kid or as an adult, I think you will appreciate this “Return of” MP. It is NOT a re-do, but a continuance, years later. Nobody truly can replace Dick VanDyck or Julie Andrews, BUT this modern continuance surpasses with modern camera work...made EVEN BETTER with 4K/hdr.
If you can get past new actors and not having quite the very classic songs we all remember from our youth, this is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

Really enjoyed ‘1917’ in my home theater as much as on the big screen. It was a 2.5 hour movie and I could stop at my leisure from home !
This 4K version brought out every detail, though it was not a “popping colorful” movie- muted war scenes. The cinematography was truly fantastic though, including night scenes.
“Constant filming” was a first for me...the camera NEVER left the characters for a second.
A lot of great war movies out there. Not many WWI films.
Highly recommended.

Great movie from a historical AND cinematic point

Saw this movie on the “big screen” at the theater and enjoyed it. Nevertheless, the 4K version at home really looked great with the improved contrast, deep blacks and nice surround sound !
This is actually a gray/cloudy movie with certain scenes such as the air battles being bathed in glorious color. I viewed both the 2K (1080p) version and the 4K version in back-to-back evenings. Both were excellent cinematically and sound-wise, but of course 4K trumps 2K.
What an inspiring piece of history ! So glad this 2017 version was made to depict it.
Highly recommended for those that have a historical interest.

I really appreciate this outstanding deluxe coffee maker, the Bonvita Conniseur 8-cup. It looks cool sitting on my counter, is relatively compact, and does exactly as it says-makes great coffee. The brushed stainless carafe is amazing in the manner that it is cool to the touch on both bottom and sides and yet, it keeps the (non-hot plate machine) coffee very-same, hot temp for hours !

I would ALMOST give this UHD (4K) Blu-ray player a 5-star. It plays VERY smoothly, has a good menu system with options for optimum settings. I have yet to explore all the options.
I really like the Dolby Vision option with the constantly updating metadata refreshing (versus static metadata).
Panasonic did what virtually every eother DVD deck (not OPPO) does at similar price and lower- NO back-lit remote ! C’mon Panny ! I mean, for about a $450, player, you could squeeze in a $8. light!

I think that the artistic graphics and color on either the enclosed Blu-Ray OR UHD 4K Blu-ray are State of the Art jaw dropping. I thoroughly enjoyed the first 45 minutes, but for me, the plot slogged on W A Y too long and was needlessly complex. Initially cute...but found myself looking at my watch!

This is the FIRST generation of NX series...first gen of JVC NC line of 4K, soooo these are pretty darn UNIQUE.

This A90J has some great improvements over the previous Master series offerings and is certainly a eye opener in person.
I got the A90J hoping it would be as bright as a QLED TV without the downsides such as the terrible blooming and dirty screen many competitors have. And while it's not as bright as a top QLED nor does it knock down reflections as well, the improvement in brightness and addition of the hdmi 2.1 were the main 2 downsides to OLED. The third may have been the concern of burn-in which is to be helped with Sony adding the heat sink to keep it cooler.
The screen has no metal bezel like the A8H, which I'm not sure I minded and was a little peace of mind when it came to bumping it. The feet on the 55 and 65 are very far to the edge while the 83 has a wide and middle position, all can be reversed so that you can elevate the tv for a sound bar.
When comparing to QN90A, the screen was so much more uniform and there is obviously no blooming and dimming issues of the LED tech. The banding and motion are also better on the A90J.
Overall, the tv is 20% or brighter over the A8H, with cable and HDR looking far better than previous OLED TVs. Is that worth 2x the price? For me... yes, but that is what people will have to answer with their own budget in mind.

The Geek Squad technicians set this up last night and they were excellent, I highly recommend using this team as they saved me tons of time setting up the TV and showing me how to use it in a very short time.
As far as the TV, it's nothing short of AMAZING! I was concerned about picture quality through lower sources like Youtube TV and Youtube, but the picture is excellent even at these lower resolutions. Watching the NCAA tournament has been a blast. I know this TV was a bit expensive, but the clarity, resolution, motion, and brightness with this natural look is magnificent!
The only recommendation I have is to try to get at least 80mg download bandwidth to take advantage of the IMAX movies and to make it easier for streamed sources to max out their resolution. Lastly, I typically don't write reviews unless I'm really impressed, and I also wanted to recognize the Geek Squad team and BestBuy for their support and excellence.

Thanks for the detailed review. I watch a lot of sports, so stuck with broadcast 720p/1080i. So my only concern is how it shows NON-4-K material ! You touched on that unlike most reviewers. It would be nice to compare previous SONY OLED processing of broadcast HD to this A90J.

This is a fantastic review. Thanks for addressing how the SONY A90J “handles” lower resolution material, e.g. 720p/1080i. Almost all 4K panels look gorgeous with 4K material, BUT only the best panels “upconvert” decently.

I wanted to wait a solid week before I wrote a review on this tv to give an honest and fair evaluation on this Sony 65” a90j tv. I had my eye on this tv for a very long time and had very high expectations going into it. This tv replaced a 16 year old 37” Panasonic plasma, which was an amazing tv to this day, but felt it was time for an upgrade. So here is my evaluation on this tv after owning it for one week.
Design: I decided to mount this tv on the wall and it looks spectacular. There is a very small bezel that goes around the screen. It is also very thin. The design was well thought of and even when the tv isn’t on, it looks beautiful.
Connectivity: I wanted to get the best connection I could get for this tv so I bought a high end Ethernet cable. I noticed that the picture wasn’t all that great. Come to find out that this tv has a 10/100 Ethernet port. I was a bit surprised as the standard today is 10/100/1000. Once I connected it to the 5Ghz network on my wireless modem, I could tell the picture was much better.
Sound: the sound on this tv is really good. It states that the sound is supposed to be immersive and 3D surround, but I’m not getting that. Maybe I have the sound settings wrong, but I don’t get a surround sound feeling like you’d get from a sound bar or external speakers. Regardless, the sound is still amazing.
Picture quality: this is where the tv shines. It took awhile to get the picture settings right, but once I did, the picture on this tv is crazy! I am a perfectionist and I tried very hard to find imperfections and I just couldn’t. The tv can get very bright. I was concerned about burn in, but I can’t even find image retention as compared to my previous plasma. The picture is extremely sharp. 4K and ultraHD is mind blowing. At times, the picture looks 3D. Colors pop out of the screen and makes you feel you are right there. Motion was a bit of an issue, but after I turned it off, it seemed to improve a great deal. You can get lost in the settings, but once you get them set to how you like it, the TV really is exceptional.
Cost: this tv is expensive and it really comes down to how much you want to spend on a tv. It comes down to what you can afford and what your budget is. Personally, I saved up for this tv so I knew I was going to spend this much going in. Plus, I look at this as an investment as I expect to keep this tv for at least 10, if not 15 years. When I bought my 37” plasma 16 years ago, it cost $2,000. At that time, you had to be rich to afford an oled. It would’ve cost you $10,000-$15,000 for a 55” oled at that time. Today, the technology is way better. Again, it comes down to how much you want to spend. However, if you want the best of the best, then this is the tv.
As I said earlier, I had very high expectations for this tv and it didn’t disappoint. It not only met them, but went above and beyond. After some tweaking, this tv is truly spectacular! Believe the hype, this tv is all that, plus more. Don’t take my word for it, check it out for yourself. Be ready to be blown away!

I’ve owned a series of TVs over the past two decades that have been considered best of the year. So, that means my most recent TV was an LG OLED. It’s hard to believe that this SONY OLED, using LGs next generation panel could be so far advanced. This is a breakthrough. Before I break down some features I can assure anyone using the first few iterations of the LG panels that this one is a huge leap ahead. You need decide if it’s worth the considerable expense, but perfection does have a price.

It’s hard to believe that this SONY OLED, using LGs next generation panel could be so far advanced. This is a breakthrough. Before I break down some features I can assure anyone using the first few iterations of the LG panels that this one is a huge leap ahead. You need decide if it’s worth the considerable expense, but perfection does have a price.
PICTURE: Out of the box, using the CUSTOM PICTURE MODE, and following the advice of a few of the online TV review gurus for a few settings, the picture that results is stunning. Rich saturated colors stand out and contrast that ranges from velvety blacks to almost blinding highlights set the goalposts for the competition impossibly high. You’ll read some online reviews complaining that you really need XXX number of NITS (measurement of brightness) to be really able to exploit HDR programing. Good grief. Unless you want to wear sunglasses to watch your favorite shows the SONY is startlingly bright enough. Shadows are handled perfectly and variations of shade in dark scenes as well are areas of brightly lit sky have smooth gradation, zero stair-stepping, and a range of contrast that can not be matched by most other TVs.
ANDROID OPERATING SYSTEM: I’m a huge fan of both the APPLE OS and the ROKU OS for managing streaming and live programming. This SONY implementation of the ANDROID OS is very easy to get used to. I can prioritize and reorganize my favorite streams and receive a very easy-to-use programming management controlled by the well designed remote control. Visually and logically, SONY has matched the best TV operating systems out there. Operational speed and fluidity needs some work.
The SONY manages my attached audio system via the remote and some eliminates the need for supplemental remotes. The operating system hesitates occasionally and seems sluggish compared to my other streaming OSs, but I’m going to predict SONY will provide some updates.
SUMMARY: I don’t think the SONY Bravia XR A90J can be bested by any other TV on the market this year. I’m betting it will be difficult for SONY to improve on this TV’s picture quality for another few years. This may be the only TV I’ve owned for decades where I’ll forgo a professional calibration. It’s spectacular as is. Easy to recommend if you want the best TV on the market in 2021. This is a TV that makes movie theaters irrelevant, unless you prefer coughing, chattering crowds. Sit closer if you want your field of view filled. These Sony XR TVs are spectacular.

Compared to an average flat panel TV, the speakers on this thing are absolutely ridiculous! I took the plunge with this TV for the possibility that I wouldn't need to use a sound bar with it. I really wanted to minimize the wires and accessories attached to the mounted TV. Feature lists for TV's are often full of total over hype on basically everything (especially the sound features). I was not holding my breath that the sound would actually be as good or better than a very good sound bar, but it is- easily.
I knocked off one star because the price is kind of scary. I am also slightly intimidated to use the TV because it was so expensive. The OLED display looks absolutely dazzling, but the minute risk of burn in is utterly frightening after what I paid for this thing. I just worry too much probably.
Features that work great and I often use on it are Chromecast, SteamLink, and playing media off my network storage. I have not had a satisfactory experience with AirPlay yet, but I don't know if that is the TV's fault.
The TV looks and sounds amazing in my home. I am glad that I bought it.

I had a great experience last weekend with Alejandro Coronel in the Magnolia department. I recently purchased a Sony 65" A90J. Even though the Sony's picture quality was great, excellent detail and colors, the set didn't have the pop and punch that I was used to in my 2017 LG 65" B7. It was like the difference between looking at a great painting with a flat or matte finish compared to a semi-gloss or glossy finish. Alejandro accepted my return and allowed me to purchase a 77" LG CX, which I picked up on Saturday 4/10/21. The LG's picture has the pop and punch I really like and I am a very satisfied customer. Alejandro assisted me throughout the whole process and was courteous and patient and I really appreciate that. You guys need more salespeople like him and thank you!

You mention how your LG has more “pop”; more color. Okay, well have at it. I have seen both Samsung and LG, and both have color that is not as natural as Sony. I do not want “electric green” grass on a football field. That is comic book color.

1st of all I need to give credit to best buy's geek quad's two guys who mounted the on the stone wall so nicely just wow. they did such a great job mounting, hooking my apple tv 4k back of the tv and relocate my old tv to another room. back to the tv its just so beautiful picture quality, vibrant, smooth. comes with so many picture quality setup including Dolby vision and also has ENHANCED IMAX picture setup you can use, I am not a games I stream a lots of movies tv shows lives channels and so far I am super happy with the performances. i will get few more Sony tv soon.

The photos shown are “okay” but (no offense) they just do NOT represent well just how FANTASTIC the actual A80K looks in person. If you do just a little fine tuning, it really crushes any LED-LCD panel. This is a fantastically good tv for the price. If you have almost unlimited $$$ then buy the Sony A95K…but it is DOUBLE the price for about 15% better picture (most could not notice a difference).

I walked into a Best Buy and there was a 1080p blu ray version of Iron Man 2 on a A90J and a Samsung QN90A. There was much pixelation and fuzziness on the A90J and the QN90A looked so crisp. Is Sony not that good at upscaling lower resolution content?
As you might have read or heard, SONY is considered by most people in the industry as well as AV hobbyists as having THEE BEST ”upscaling” in the business. What you saw does NOT match up with professional comparisons, at all.
Obviously, you need to account for S T O R E issues (bad hdmi cable, etc.)
There is a multitude of explanations for what you apparently experienced. But THAT is just inconsistent with the norm.

This is a “panel lottery”- varies from panel to panel, honestly.
Most have shown to be pretty clean. And it tends to dissipate some over time.

I think this is a GREAT question. I have never tried. I hate to guess (I am a coffee drinker and DO appreciate fresh ground coffee beans).
I would certainly guess “yes” but would be concerned about just exactly HOW fine it would get...but this is one very, very capable blender. It really is. I can imagine some “experimentation” of amount of time and speed would come into play.

Yes, absolutely. I will answer this a bit differently from some others. I, like you, still love my Panasonic plasma (GT 50). But I actually get a slight boost from my current OPPO 203 (just purchased the Panasonic 820 for another Panny plasma). Your question was the same as mine before my purchase. I wanted to “sort of” test out the new 4K players, and still continue another year with our gorgeous plasma...there is not too much difference as of course the 1080p is, well, still 1080p, BUT...when I hit “info button” there is DOUBLE TO TRIPLE the bit rate coming off that 4K disc from the 4K player, and it serves up about 60-80 mkbps (sp?), as compared to 2K Blu-ray of about 20-25. It DOES maximize your plasma out !
So the long & short is YES. My Panasonic tv (GT50) accepts a 4K HDMI cable that OPPO supplied. For the Penny 820, I think you will need to purchase a new HDMI cable to send the beefed-up signal to the TV. I recommend only the “Premium Certified” HDMI. A GREAT source is ”MONOCABLE.” They are an on-line business that have impeccable quality at a fraction of cost- great combo !
