Upgraded from the 32" version of this and was well worth it. The 32" was just too small in the space, and going to the 40" has been a great upgrade in more ways than just the size. The remote works far better, and the TV just seems to run better. Great picture for a non-4K. And the price makes it an easy purchase.

For the money it's very good. The user interface works well and the companion app for your device is invaluable, especially since the supplied remote barely works...... With a clear line of sight from 11 feet away the remote must be held at just the right angle and height for it to work, not sure if we got a dud but will be contacting support. The Guest feature is the reason we bought this for our STR. Picture quality is just fine at this size and specs, especially coming from my usual tv which is a Samsung 60" UHD

chatted with TCL support, they said the maximum range of the remote is 10 feet, which explains why I have to lean forward to get it to work from 11 to 12 feet away with a clear line of sight
