A decent barebones bluray player, does what you expect, but the lack of built-in wi-fi, something I personally consider a standard feature in most modern day pieces of tech is definitely a con.

I will keep this simple, I love this movie, it's a great Christmas movie, but above that it's a great movie. And this case encapsulates that classic Hollywood/Rockwellian aesthetic.

Not a great upgrade over a basic bluray... the case is ggorgeous so you can just get a bluray, buuut if you can find the 4k steelbook at a steal, and you don't own it, then pick it up.
To save his declining business, Chris Cringle (Mel Gibson), also known as Santa Claus, is forced into a partnership with the U.S. military. Making matters worse, Chris gets locked into a deadly battle of wits against a highly skilled assassin (Walton Goggins), hired by a precocious 12-year-old after receiving a lump of coal in his stocking. 'Tis the season for Fatman to get even, in the action-comedy that keeps on giving.

Mel Gibson is a controversial actor, but upon watching Fatman, a film where Gibson plays a grizzled, disheartened Santa Claus, I was reminded how charismatic of an actor he is, and how much of presence he is on screen.
But aside from that the film knows what it is, but plays it straight which only adds to its enjoyment... and might be the second best action Christmas movie (Die Hard being number 1)

A science fiction film akin to interstellar, but if interstellar is bombastic, arrival is its intimate counterpart.
Also it's nice to see two major recent "blockbuster" films have a strong focus on science. And while interstellar has a focus on time dilation and physics...and...5th dimensions, arrival is more focused on linguistics.

To keep it short, is it as good as the first Wonder Woman film? No. Is it terrible? No.
Wonder Woman 1984 is simply a step backwards, tonally it's a hard shift away from the "dark and gritty" or "mythological and epic" films of the Zack Snyder run in the DCEU. The story essentially feels like that of the Wonder Woman television series, but stretched out over 2.5 hours.... making it feel inconsequential to the DCEU, nonsensical, and a bit empty. Gal and Chris still have solid chemistry, a chemistry that keeps the film from falling apart (aside from an awkward plot point), while Pedro and Kristen are doing their own thing by giving us a more hammed up performances.
The film could have had a great message about rampant capitalism, and even brought the Orwellian themes from the book Jenkins claims inspired the film, but instead we got a..... fluffy Wonder Woman sequel, and there is nothing wrong with fluff or showing Wonder Woman's more vulnerable or compassionate side, but the film framed around it didn't fully work.
Also the steel book cover looks better in person, but isn't my favorite.

With a poor rollout, its higher price point, and the other HBO services like NOW and GO, HBOMAX comes off as superfluous, and you can argue it is, but having nearly all of Warner Bros catalog (some not available likely due preexisting contracts) at your fingertips is great finding something for everyone; if you like classic films you have TCM, if you love Studio Ghibli (Kiki's Delivery Service being very near and dear to my heart) then it's there as well, and if you want all the DC films (no matter how controversial you think they are) they're there for you too.
Furthermore with the past HBO services being rolled into HBOMAX it makes it less redundant.
In regards to PQ....it is....fine, not necessarily the best like Netflix or Amazon Prime, so they need to work on that more and should have. And the layout, I personally like it quite a bit, granted I access it through Google Chromecast meaning that I greater control than a standard remote control, but visually it feels more akin to Netflix and Disney+ (I don't have that service, so I'm basing it off of screenshots), and the purple and black is a nice visual aesthetic, it's far more streamlined than Amazon Prime, and the Hubs are a nice addition. However it is to mention that I have also tried it with Roku and while the layout is still very straightforward because of how recently it was added the app isn't very fluid, something they need to fix.
Should you get it? Yes, if you are looking for another service with a vast library of films of every genre for any age, or if you're looking to replace another. But an issue becomes the price, is it deal for what you get? Yes, obviously, 15 dollars for hundreds of thousands of films and series is always a steal, but that price compared to its competition makes it feel like less of a deal or a harder hit to your wallet; and perhaps it feels like less of a deal because HBOMAX does not have an immediate culture explosion like "The Mandalorian," it does not have its "House of Cards" or "Stranger Things," there is high quality content such as "Raised by Wolves," but time it may/will starting with a fan supported restoration of the mired "Justice League," and furthermore with HBOMAX having HBO talent it's only a matter of time before they create the next "The Wire," "Game of Thrones" and even more recently "Watchmen"

Uncut Gems is a proper follow up to the Safdie brothers previous film "Good Time," which I highly recommend, with its grimy world, heavily flawed leads, showcasing actors in a new light, and overall abrasive tone...even the film's sound mix is intentionally grating, with you feeling like a fly on the wall in NYC with people yelling over one another.
The pacing of Uncut Gems isn't as swift as Good Time, if anything sometimes it feels like it isn't moving forward, while it isn't necessarily a bad thing, it does lower the enjoyment in comparison.
Sandler delivers an amazing performance of a man who has nearly completely succumb to all his vices, an addict, which does make him harder to sympathize with when compared to Pattinson in "Good Time" whose character did more despicable actions, but where it seemed that it was all done for a good cause, but here our lead lies, steals, gets caught, lies again, risks his family's well being, all because he needs to place a bet. You essentially want to hate him, and do, but the brilliance comes from casting Sandler (depending if you even like him) because you want him to be a better person because you think he can be and is somewhere.
