Compared with a traditional-style computer mouse, I find the action of moving this vertical mouse, as well as the position of my hand when so doing, to be more natural. However, more so than with a regular mouse, I find that I must pay attention to the height of my chair so that my arm is not in an awkward position.

I am most impressed with the sound stage that these speakers present. In my listening space, these speakers are about eighteen inches away from the wall behind them, and about eight feet apart from one another. If you can imagine looking down at a diagram of the room, and drawing lines from my listening position to each speaker, and a line between the speakers, those lines would form an equilateral triangle. I have the speakers firing straight ahead (not toed in). It is my personal belief, after auditioning many other speakers, that there is nothing in this price range that even approaches the performance of this model. The 3-way design permits a very natural-sounding mid-range, and the high frequencies sound natural, too--not unnecessarily accentuated, as is the case with so many other speakers. The low frequency response is as expected for a 5" driver (even for two of them)--it is fine for what such a small driver can do, but leaves a little bit to be desired. This is easily addressed by using these in tandem with the Sony sub-woofer in this same series. The quality of construction is impressive, especially for this price range. Even considering the cost of the sub, this system is an incredible performer for the price.
With 115W maximum power and a 10" dual-layer mica woofer diaphragm, this Sony Core Series SACS9 active subwoofer produces robust, detailed bass tones. Motion feedback technology promotes optimal signal clarity.

This sub-woofer is an incredible performer for its price point. (I purchased mine for $99 on sale.) I would argue that a better performing sub is not available for less than ten times the price of this one. I am using this sub with my old receiver and two of the Sony 3-way floor speakers from the same series. My receiver does not have a sub out, but this unit has speaker-level inputs, which also handle the impedance-matching, and which have been working fine. It took a bit of trial and error to dial in the low-pass frequency for this unit, as the adjustment potentiometer does not have frequency markings, and the speaker-level interface does NOT seem to act as a high-pass filter for the speaker-level signal that is passed on to the main speaker cabinets. All of that said, I am quite happy with the balance that I obtained after about 30 minutes of adjusting and listening. I should add that I listen to a wide variety of music, and fully recognize that only one of this sub might not be adequate to faithfully reproduce the low frequency portion of much popular music. That said, one could easily connect two (or even four!) of these to extend the low frequency response of a larger system and still spend considerably less than what a single unit to match such performance would cost.
