Better than I remembered...

Since Best Buy have been releasing the 4K Blu-ray Steelbook editions of our favorite Marvel movies, I've gone back and visited the original trilogies of the core 3 Avengers.
Iron Man 2 seems to be the considered the weakest of the 3, but Sam Rockwell can save any movie he's in-- ha ha
And while I'm not the greatest Gwyneth Paltrow fan, she's actually very good in this movie.
And as a die hard Agents of SHIELD fan, I really appreciate how the Extremis threat starts in this movie and informs the early episodes of that fantastic series.

With Best Buy releasing these 4K Blu-ray steelbooks, I've gone back and visited some of the early Marvel movies. I was really surprised by how GREAT this movie was!
Winter Soldier is still my #1 or #2 Marvel movie, even after Infinity War/Endgame...
But as Marvel continues to amaze us with the spectacular visuals and cosmic battles, it was really a treat to visit this origin story where the interesting characters were the driving force of the film.

Cut the cord a few years back and Netflix/Hulu have been fine. We wanted to catch local news over the air, and have tried at least 4 different antennas - This one is by far the best!
We've been content with 6 local channels, but once we set this Insignia antenna up, we had almost 30 additional channels available - wow!
Bonus for the two-color housing- we wall-mounted it with the white side out so it's hardly noticeable.

But Season 2 broadened and deepened the Orville universe in some wonderful ways. Characters get to grow and we're more really invested in them by the end.

Dissapointing Movie - Great Steelbook

Yep - unfortunately, I'm one of those who have to complete the set whether it's a film series or seasons of a TV show.
And in a similar move, I waited for a dirt cheap used copy of The Last Jedi to come along before picking up that stinker! ;-)
I'm one of the few people who REALLY liked Prometheus - the overall look & feel of that movie outweighed the actions/choices of the many poorly-written characters.
But I couldn't stand what Alien Covenant did to the Alien mythology, and I thought I'd pass on this one completely...
But BestBuy offered the steelbook edition for less than $9.00 so I couldn't pass that up!

Excellent - what more can be said?

Everybody else in the world has weighed in already, but I just have to say that I absolutely loved this movie - equally as much as Infinity War (for different reasons).
While Avengers: Infinity War was an action-packed spectacle, it was actually Thanos' movie (and I dug that a lot!).
Whereas Avengers: Endgame was every bit about the remaining Avengers - how they coped with their defeat, and finally achieved their ultimate victory.
The slow pacing for the first 1/3 of the movie was crucial to set the tone and share our characters' grief (much to the chagrin of kiddos with the attention span of a gnat)...
The middle third with the "time heist" was a welcome, lighthearted romp with some truly touching/heatbreaking moments for our main characters (who we've been on nearly a 10 year trip with at this point).
And finally the last 1/3 has all of the 'splosions and action beats any Marvel fan could ask for-- two thumbs WAY UP!

As a lifelong Star Trek fan (grew up with original series reruns on Friday nights and watched TNG from the premiere in high school) this just tickled my to no end.
I absolutely LOVE entertaining Sci-Fi comedies like:
Barbarella, Flash Gordon, Ghostbusters, Buckaroo Banzai, Back to the Future, MIB, Red Dwarf, Spaceballs, The Fifth Element and Paul.
