I really like all forms of animation (2D, stop-motion, CG) and being a bit older, I wasn't aware of the recent Miles Morales character.
Peter Parker was my spider man as a child of the 80s.

And Marvel has done a stellar job of bringing all of my favorite characters to life in live-action extravaganzas - with Tom Holland right up there alongside so many other actors that seem to be be born to play their respective roles.
But comics have always been about change and reinvention to keep up with the times. And as the great Stan Lee once said "Every comic is someone's first comic"
So, while I thought I'd skip a movie about a character I wasn't familiar with, such positive word of mouth from literally everyone who saw it convinced me to give it a shot.
And like the summary line says, I am SO GLAD that I saw this film!

The movie itself has stunning visuals and totally deserved the Oscar. And the various techniques really made it seem like a comic book came to life-
ALL of the characters are great and the writing was top notch.
And finally, the steelbook edition has fantastic imagery inside and out. So glad to add it to my Marvel collection (shhhhh, don't tell SONY)

Now I have the complete saga in glorious Blu-ray Steelbook editions and they look marvelous displayed together on the shelf.
It's common knowledge that the movie is first-rate, so I'm just commenting on the steelbook aspects.
Nice cover artwork on all three movies and they compliment each other so well.

I loved this movie and purchased all of the Lord of Rings movies in just about each format: DVD, Blue Ray, and now Blu Ray Steelbook.
I liked the Blue Ray box set, but preferred the illustrations of the DVD Box Set.
The images on this steelbook case are reminiscent of those earlier editions and look great displayed on the shelf.

Excellent Viewing Experience!

Since cutting the Cable TV cord a few years ago, I've used my Sony Blue-ray player to bring my Netflix and Hulu content.
However, Hulu recently stopped streaming to my player and I was forced to purchase a Roku alternative-
And I have to say I AM SO GLAD I DID!

Hulu did me the biggest favor- The streaming is SO MUCH quicker across all services, they launch immediately, and are much more stable.
I am VERY pleased with this product and highly recommend it.
BTW, I researched all the Roku options and chose the ROKU PREMIERE, because the USB stick version (which draws power from the TV) apparently doesn't shut off when you turn off the TV.
So the remote constantly searches for the device and goes through batteries like crazy...

I’m glad to add this movie to my Marvel blu-ray steelbook collection. The film itself is fun, if a little thin storywise. And the 90s song choices were a little on the nose...
But I enjoyed the story movie overall and rank it squarely in the middle of the other Marvel titles. While it’s no Winter Soldier or Guardians of the Galaxy, it’s certainly better than Thor the Dark World!

Although I wasn’t completely satisfied with the ending, I rather enjoyed the movie overall.
The art direction, atmosphere and sets were really top notch.
I’m a sucker for thoughtful, hard sci-fi movies, And this one posed an interesting moral and ethical dilemma at the core of the story.
I would recommend this film to any sci-fi fans out there- if they’re willing to overlook a few lapses in logic here and there!

You have to admit this steelbook presentation is top notch!

On to the movie-
The first Ant-Man movie was really fun, but it had the standard marvel villain problem.
The protagonist has a similar power set/armor and the story culminates in a showdown spectacle at the end where... *spoilers*... the villain dies and we get the happy ending.

The antagonists (I hesitate to call them villains) have varied reasons for what they do, and the characters are fleshed out really well. Their past relationships impact decisions being made as the story unfolds and the movie still manages to sprinkle in a fair bit of humor, like the first.
Plus, the Wasp finally gets to wreck shop like a boss!
I do have a logic problem where they discarded the rules regarding shrinking established in the first movie. Apparently, you don't have to wear a helmet to breathe when you're operating at the smaller size any more. But once you just go with it, the movie is a really fun ride...

Of course, this is the grand payoff after 10 years of interconnected storytelling - rather like comic books, wouldn't you say...?
Spoilers for the 12 people on the planet who still haven't seen the movie---
I respect the choice to tell a complete story where the adversary actually "wins" and accomplishes his goal. Contrary to the deluge of online postings, this is NOT an incomplete story or cliffhanger (like The Empire Strikes Back)... The movie is about Thanos, and tells HIS story with a complete character arc.
Of course, many of our heroes will be restored and/or re-imagined in future installments (just as they have over decades of serialized storytelling in comics)... but that doesn't lessen the emotional impact of the events in this movie for me.
Regarding the Blu Ray Steelbook release-- Simply Beautiful!
I heartily recommend this item and am glad to add to the Marvel Steelbook shelf!
