Sony doesn’t disappoint in their restorations, this is fantastic! This is one of my favorites of all time and I’ve forgotten how beautiful this movie was, so great! It has Dolby Atmos, no Dolby Vision, but I’m proud to say it doesn’t need it, so good. Definitely worth the pickup!

I have mine paired with my Sonos Arc and boy does this thump if you have it setup correctly! My favorite aspect of this device is that it is only 6 inches wide and I actually have mine hidden inside my love seat! It’s a dual recliner with a center console and it fit right inside!
They just released an update and if you have an additional Gen 2/3 or have access to purchase another Gen 2/3, you can run dual subs!!! Has to be those models or has to work with Sonos S2 app though.
If you are new to Sonos, here a couple things to keep in mind. Sonos does not support Bluetooth, at all. You need WiFi, and good WiFi, to pair this with a beam or an Arc as well as surrounds. This can be no bueno for non-Apple users as it only supports AirPlay over WiFi, you cannot cast Spotify or YouTube, etc. over Bluetooth with Sonos. You also cannot use the Trueplay self-calibration feature on the app without an iPhone or iPad.
Sonos also has no support for DTS whatsoever, so if your Blu-ray player cannot output solely Dolby Audio, you will be SOL with your DTS mastered movies.

Gets the job of holding my external HDD and my Apple TV done, but since it has only one screw hole, it isn’t as solid as I would have hoped. Unless you find something on Amazon for less, this is just fine.

Great film, haven’t seen it in years and this was a great way to see it again. The HD disc is right behind the 4K disc on the same clip, which I thought was a bit cheap. Discs can get scratched like that.

If you’re a fan of this film, this is definitely worth it. I wish the extended edition was also restored in 4K but not a deal breaker. The biggest drawback is that it doesn’t have a Dolby Master track. If your soundbar doesn’t DTS support like mine (Sonos Arc) you might just be buying this for the Digital Copy.

Everything is in Dolby Vision with Atmos track is awesome. It’s amazing that this company produces this quality of visuals in 2009 and still manages to look better than the latest Jurassic World or MCU movie. This film looks like it was shot yesterday!

Just get it, you won’t be upset. It is a bit expensive still, you are getting 6 digital copies, 6 4K discs and everything is in Dolby Atmos and Dolby Vision, including the Extended Editions! It’s worth it just to see Smaug in 4K Dolby Vision with Hurricane Wings in Atmos. Best Buy employee approved!
Can a 21-year-old African prince find happiness and the girl of his dreams while working incognito at a fast food restaurant in Queens? In this hit comedy, Eddie Murphy plays the young royal who flees his country to escape an arranged marriage and find an American wife-but his deception could just as easily spoil the romance he starts up with the daughter (Shari Headley) of his employer (John Amos). Arsenio Hall, Madge Sinclair, and James Earl Jones also star. 116 min. Widescreen (Enhanced); Soundtracks English DTS HD 5.1 Master Audio, French Dolby Digital stereo Surround; Subtitles English (SDH), French; featurettes; photo gallery; theatrical trailers. Region Free

Worth every penny, I should’ve spent more and got the Steelbook! This was so much to watch again and to see something from the 80’s, shot in NYC, remastered into 4K! Dolby vision is on fire with this film. Disc only supports DTS sound file though. If it had Dolby I’d’ve give 5/5. I can’t understand why companies are updating visuals to Dolby Vision but not adding an Atmos track. The Master English file is DTS and very additional track is Dolby and when you a soundbar (Sonos Arc) that doesn’t support DTS, it can be a pain.
THERE'S A NEW REASON TO BE AFRAID OF THE DARK. A sci-fi/horror sleeper hit that birthed a franchise and launched the career of a new action movie icon, Pitch Black holds it's own today as a nerve-shredding creature-feature in which the monsters outside finally meet their match against a monster within. When an intergalactic transport ship crashes on a remote desert planet with no sign of help on the horizon, the survivors, led by Fry (Radha Mitchell), band together to find a way back home. Among the passengers is Riddick (Vin Diesel), a convicted murderer being transported by marshal Johns (Cole Hauser) - and now freed of his chains and on the loose. But as a solar eclipse plunges the planet into total darkness, a threat even worse than Riddick reveals itself, and the last humans standing may have to form an uneasy truce with the cunning fugitive (whose eyes have been surgically altered to see in the dark) to last the long night. Boasting crackerjack direction and a whip-smart script by David Twohy, as well as a star-making performance by Diesel, Riddick's first outing is freshly unleashed in an illuminating, brand new 4K restoration, with hours of exclusive bonus content.

Definitely a good restoration! Not all the scenes look awesome in 4K but they are moments when this looks 10x better than even the latest Riddick. This does not have a Digital Copy which was a bummer and its Master sound file is DTS. I don’t know why companies are updating the visuals to Dolby Vision but aren’t putting an Atmos track on the disc. Unfortunately my soundbar (Sonos Arc) has not DTS capabilities so that was also a bummer.
Bring all your entertainment to life with the extraordinarily realistic sound of this Sonos Arc - the premium smart soundbar for TV, movies, gaming, and more.

Sound is spectacular, app is mostly okay but be aware of what you are getting. As an employee and an owner I can attest: this does not support DTS tracks at all! If you have a DVD, Blu-Ray, and definitely any 4K Blu-rays that have any DTS tracks, you will not get any sound input to this device. You have either A) have a (4K) Blu-ray player or and Xbox that can convert DTS codec to Dolby and output solely Dolby or B) purchase third-party devices from HDFury that are almost the same cost as the soundbar.
This does not use Bluetooth, so if anyone told you it did, unfortunately they were misled. It only uses WiFi and does not support Bluetooth, no Sonos device does at this point.
If you are an Apple user, great! This product was made to work with Apple. If you’re not an Apple user, you can download the app, but you cannot use the Trueplay feature, which is Sonos’ self-calibration tool that leverages an iPhone’s microphone. These do support AirPlay, but since it does not support Bluetooth, you can’t really cast to this device, say for Spotify. I feel for those who don’t use Apple.
You can add whatever Sonos speaker you want to the Arc as surrounds, like the One, One SL, Fives or even the older Play:1, Play:3, or Play:5 as long as the generation you have has support for the current Sonos S2 app. But only two devices will act as surrounds, if you want more speakers, you have to setup additional speakers in a separate group and pair them each (and yes each) time you want use them, with the app. These additional pairs can only be setup as a stereo pair (ugh) and you get stereo instead of atmos.
When this works, it’s awesome and it does an excellent job especially paired with the sub and surrounds. If you don’t want to or don’t really have the capability of running wires and mounting speakers and are an Apple user, this is the soundbar for you. Unfortunately, I am not in a situation that will allow to do anything but wireless so it gets the job done and it does it well. My Blu-ray player will not output solely Dolby so I do have use my Xbox One-X, that will output solely Dolby, to watch movies with a DTS soundtrack, which is like half of them, no joke. It’s either Dolby or DTS and those are your chances, so make sure you have an Oppo (if you can find one), a Sony or and LG 4K Blu-ray player that can output solely Dolby. I will not get rid of this setup anytime soon, but had I known the limitations of this device, I would definitely have a completely different home theater setup than I do now.
