One Million Years B.C. is a 1966 British adventure fantasy film directed by Don Chaffey. The film stars Raquel Welch and John Richardson, set in a fictional age of cavemen and dinosaurs. Ray Harryhausen animated all of the dinosaur attacks using stop-motion animation techniques. This is the film that made me a movie fan and lover of all things prehistoric and there has never been a better-looking cavegirl than Raquel Welch. This film is solid-gold entertainment and great fun to watch. Don't miss it.

Arabian Nights is a 1942 adventure film directed by John Rawlins and starring Sabu, Maria Montez, Jon Hall and Leif Erickson. The film is derived from The Book of One Thousand and One Nights but owes more to the imagination of Universal Pictures than the original Arabian stories. This action-packed adventure film is worth a watch. The basic summary is about a man who ends up getting revenge and banding together with some close friends, including a slave girl who is his love interest in this yarn of palace intrigue and murder as two brothers battle for the kingdom's throne. Chase scenes, sword fights and comedy are sprinkled throughout the story. It is a fun film, and the picture, shot in Technicolor, is beautiful with excellent landscapes, colorful costumes, and much more come to life in the vibrant color that this film was shot in. If you want to watch something fun that doesn't require much thinking, then this movie won't let you down.

Soldier Blue is a 1970 American Revisionist Western film directed by Ralph Nelson and starring Candice Bergen, Peter Strauss, and Donald Pleasence. Adapted by John Gay from the novel Arrow in the Sun by T.V. Olsen. Supposedly taking place in 1877 this film is rated R and provides the first motion picture account of the 1864 Colorado Territory Sand Creek massacre, one of the most infamous incidents in the history of the American frontier, in which the Colorado Territory militia under Colonel John M. Chivington massacred a defenseless village of Cheyenne and Arapaho on the Colorado Eastern Plains. Released in August 1970, the film drew attention for its frank depictions of violence and is not for children or the squeamish. Although cut from its original 135 minutes to its now 115 minutes it still contains quite a bit of blood and guts specifically in its graphic final sequence. Worth a look for those of you who are interested in learning some true history. Since then, the site, on Big Sandy Creek in Kiowa County, is now preserved by the National Park Service. The Sand Creek Massacre National Historic Site was dedicated on April 28, 2007, almost 142 years after the massacre. On December 3, 2014, Colorado Governor John Hickenlooper formally apologized to descendants of Sand Creek massacre victims gathered in Denver to commemorate the 150th anniversary of the event. Hickenlooper stated, "We should not be afraid to criticize and condemn that which is inexcusable. ... On behalf of the State of Colorado, I want to apologize. We will not run from this history." In 2015, construction of a memorial to the Sand Creek Massacre victims began on the Colorado Capitol grounds.
This 1954 Disney version of Jules Verne's 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea represented the studio's costliest and most elaborate American-filmed effort to date. Kirk Douglas plays a trouble-shooting 19th century seaman, trying to discover why so many whaling ships have been disappearing of late. Teaming with scientist Paul Lukas and diver Peter Lorre, Douglas sets sail to investigate--and is promptly captured by the megalomaniac Captain Nemo (James Mason), who skippers a lavish, scientifically advanced submarine. The film's special effects, including a giant squid, were impressive enough in 1954 to win an Academy Award.

Magnificent Disney adaptation based on Jules Verne's fantasy-adventure novel with great cast and filmed in widescreen Cinemascope and breathtaking Technicolor with plenty of action on a grand scale and breathtaking special effects. It went on to win two Oscars, one for Special Effects and the other for Art Direction. It was also nominated for Best Film Editing and in the Best Actor category for James Mason's brilliant performance as Nemo. A great family film. Don't miss it.

It was the 1880s and Native Americans had already been defeated and controlled by the American government. A New York painter, Catherine Weldon (played by Jessica Chastain), becomes sympathetic to the plight of the Natives and decides to travel to North Dakota to meet Sitting Bull, paint his portrait, and assist him and his people. The movie isn't completely fact-based, it doesn't even mention her son, and the events that led to Sitting Bull's murder in 1890 are highly dramatized in the script, but overall it is a good dramatic depiction of what the relationship consisted of. This was a beautifully shot movie with a wonderful music score and very strong performances of lead characters, and has left a deep impression on me. A bit of history not to be missed. See it for yourself.

I was quite surprised to find that this indoor antenna was able to pull in as many signals as it did. I also found, however, that the higher I placed the antenna the clearer the signals became and was able to pick up a few extra ones as well. It seems to operate basically the same as the good old fashioned rabbit ears found on a lot of pre-digital TV's.
