Great nostalgia, but rough execution

This is not my first Arcade 1up piece if hardware. I own the Galaga, Street Fighter, TMNT(1st release) and the Star Wars pinball. While they have improved in quality over time, they still have glaring issues. For one the monitors they use are lower quality you would expect to find as a bargain Black Friday pc screen. I have upgraded the ones on my arcade machines to 19” Dell 4:3. Colors now more vibrant and less gray more black. The issue with this one specifically is that you really need to dload and run the firmware update. And as easy as they make the instructions, it is not going to be simple for the average person. This update helps what I will simply call “lag” (as that is what the average person will think when they experience it). Two of the tables are frustratingly difficult due to this. The Syar Wars table didnt seem to suffer any of this. Its too bad because my mom loved these older pinball games over the more chaotic(her words) Star Wars tables. The Marvel tables may be the better designed ones though. Check out the games lists of the 3, go try them on Pinball FX via PC, Xbox, PS4/5 or switch first to see which tables you like the best then if you still want to spend 600+ on these, you will at least know if you like the digital pinball tables within each of these.

Looks and sounds great, Transmitter not great

Picked this up so one headset to rule them all. Very cool that it works with PC, Xbox, Switch and PS4/5. And the most amazing part anout the 700 series, you can connect to phone simultaneously via Bluetooth. This allows me to take calls and not disconnect from the game. It simply mutes the mic for the game and turns the in-game volume down to hear the call and use the mic. Once you end call, the mic goes back to game chat and game volume resumes at previous level. Took some troubleshooting to understand how to get it connected to phone. The trick, hold down the Bluetooth button a lot longer than the directions say.
The bad is that after testing the range of the 700 Xbox direct connect version and them this 700 Max that uses a USB dongle, it definitely doesnt have the same range. With the Xbox only 700, I could consistently get to my kitchen and my washer/dryer without losing connection. With this version, the Stealth 700 Max, the USB transmitter falls short about 15 feet in both directions. To be clear the transmitter is in the fromt port of the Series X and it is on a rack system at the top with clear line if sight. With the Gen 2 Xbox only version once out of view, it takes longer for signal to degrade and disconnect. So best connection and range is priority over a headset that is compatible across Xbox, Sony and Switch, save $50 and just get the Stealth 700 Gen 2. If you prefer one headset for all then you will sacrifice some range but it still a great sounding headset in the Stealth 700 Gen 2 Max

Only issue is that without installing software there is no way to adjust the sensitivity of movement. So if you are using on a company computer without Admin access you're SOL. Was using a logitech G5 wired gaming mouse with built in adjustment. So while gaining a great wireless connected mouse, losing the ability to change how sensitive the mouse movement without additional software keeps this from being a 5 for me.

Being able to plat both games for the VCS, Steam app games I own and dual boot it in Windows for work is pretty awesome feature. The classic atari joystick is cool in that the orange that was around the original now lights up on this one recognizing(lights up) the direction you have moved it. The classic joystick also has a twist mechanism built into it allowing you to play games like Pong and Breakout with a “paddle” like feel of them without the need of another type of controller.
The app to control it for watching vids and stuff works pretty well also.

Is the USB dongle required for Xbox usage (do the headphones sync directly to my Xbox like the old model)? And will I only need to plug in the USB for Playstation, PC, and Switch usage?
Sadly it is required for all, including Xbox. I was hoping I could direct connect to Xbox but it needs the transmitter as well. Which kind of sucks as I have the regular 700 Gen2 as well and the range is better with the direct connect over the transmitter. But man, one headset vs needing 3 is a nice trade if the range isnt an issue for you.

What is the difference between the stealth 600 max and 700 max? They seem almost identical but have a much higher price point.
700 allows you to connect to you phone via Bluetooth as well. I love this feature as I can be connected to the xbox in a game and in party chat and if my phone rings, I can take the call. It lowers the in game volume, mutes the mic to the game chat, as it switches over to the phone conversation. As soon as I end the call, the game volume resumes to level and moves mic back to my party chat seamlessly. Well worth the extra money if you see yourself in that scenario.

In the specs for the 700 Gen 2 Max (Black) it says that the wireless connectivity is only RF. Whereas in the Cobalt edition it's specified to have RF & Bluetooth connectivity, is this true?
If it specifically calls it the “Gen2 Max”, these versions use a USB transmitter that works on PC, Xbox, PS4/5 and Switch. Separately(and simultaneously if you chose), you can connect both the Stealth 700 Gen2 Max and the Stealth 700 Gen2 to your phone via the Bluetooth. The Stealth 700 Gen2 (not the Max version) connects to the Xbox via Xbox’s proprietary connection.

Difference between Stealth 700 Gen 2 and this Stealth 700 Gen 2? From the images, I can tell this one uses it's own dongle meaning it doesn't have to rely on a separate xbox adaptor when connecting to PC but is there anything else thats better/different?
Identical headset design. The only difference is that this Gen2 Max requires the usb transmitter for all platforms. It is both a positive and negative. Positive is that you can use this headset on pretty much every platform. The negative is that I own the Gen 2 and this Gen 2 Max and the range on this for the xbox is not as good. The proprietary xbox connection seems to have a better range than this new one’s transmitter. So if you only need it for xbox, save the money and buy the Stealth 709 Gen2, NOT the Stealth 700 Gen2 MAX.
