This 1969 spaghetti western features Lee Van Cleef fresh out of his role in A few Dollars More, to take up another role as a master gunfighter in a trilogy of movies with the title character named Sabata. This first film in the series has our anti-hero riding into a Texas town to stop a bank robbery, and finds out the people behind it are the leaders of the town, who want to make a lot of money selling the land to the railroad. Sabata decides to blackmail the crooks knowing that there displeasure with him would cause the whole gangs demise. He is that good with a gun! Lots of western action.

Voted one of the top 10 films of 2019, filled with a great cast of characters and actors, and having been nominated for Best Original Screenplay, this murder mystery with a touch of tongue in cheek keeps you guessing and enthralled even when the "who done it" is revealed. A classic in the making, it deserves a second watch even when you know the ending.

This all new Frozen adventure is a prequel as well as a sequel to the first film beginning 3 years after her coronation. Being drawn by the calling of a mysterious voice Elsa sets out on a quest to the enchanted Forest to try to find out answers to questions that have been shrouded in mystery, such as why she was born with power over cold and ice, and how she can save her kingdom from an age old threat that is trying to destroy Arendelle. With the entire original cast doing the voice overs, a story is told in flashbacks about the kingdoms past, which sets in motion what Elsa and her family and friends need to do save the kingdom and their lives.

This post-war drama displays the lives of 3 different servicemen who return home after WWII to find their new lives as much of a challenge as the war, as they individually struggle with social adjustment back in the states. The story is true today as it was back then. This 1946 B&W film garnered 8 Oscars, including Best Picture, Best Director, Best Actor, Best Supporting Actor, Best Screenplay, Best Score, Best Film Editing, and a special Oscar to Harold Russell, a real life soldier who lost his hands in the war and played himself in the film.

Four decades old excellent films on 4 separate discs in one package is always a great deal. All 4 are Academy Award winners with 2 of them garnering the Best Picture Oscar for their years ([1969] Midnight Cowboy [plus Director and Screenplay] and [1986] Platoon [plus director, Film Editing, Sound and Supporting Actor for Willem DaFoe). The other 2 films won Oscars for Best Screenplay ([1995] The Usual Suspects and [1991] Thelma & Louise), and Best supporting Actor (Kevin Spacey in The Usual Suspects). All 4 movies have intense subject matter are not for the kiddies (Rated "R").

All Quiet On Any Front
on February 27, 2020

Verified Purchase:Yes
All Quiet on the Western Front is a 1929 American epic pre-Code anti-war film that won the Best Picture Academy Award for 1929-1930. Opening to wide acclaim in the U.S., it was considered a realistic and harrowing account of warfare in World War I, and is part of the American Film Institute's first 100 Years list in 1998, and in 2008 it was ranked the 7th best American epic film, and has been selected and preserved by the United States Library of Congress' National Film Registry as being deemed culturally, historically, or aesthetically significant. The B&W first war film talkie to win the Oscar, which in those early days was categorized as best outstanding production. It is told from the perspective of the German soldiers, who go off to war to do their duty for the fatherland without realizing the politics behind the war and the consequences of an unjust war.

It Did Happen One Night
on February 27, 2020

Verified Purchase:Yes
This Best Picture Oscar winner of 1934 is a classic Frank Capra screwball romantic comedy well written with pre-war humor and pre-code high-jinx with 2 of the top actors of the day (Clark Gable and Claudette Colbert). It is about a spoiled heiress (Colbert) who runs away from her domineering father only to fall for what the father had warned her about, played excellently by a worldly rough newspaper reporter (Gable). It is only one of 3 films that won all five of the top Oscars. Beautifully restored in 2013, this film remains a most have for film collectors.

A Cavalcade of History Brings Oscar
on February 27, 2020
Posted by: Deanabear
Verified Purchase:Yes
When the Academy Awards ceremony comes around each year, there is usually a look back at the past years of film and especially the Best picture category. In the first 5 years of the "Academy Awards" the year reflected the date the film aired and the year of the award. In the case of CAVALCADE (1932-1933), it is the last time this dual date was used. From then on it was dated the year of the Award's ceremony. Recently released on Blu-ray, this B&W film based on a play by Noel Coward covers 3 decades of a British family's life from New Year's Eve of 1899 to New Year's Day of 1933, chronicling the highs and lows of life during war and tragedy. It is interesting to see the evolution of film and especially acting over the years. The over acting is evident in this talkie, which was the norm for films coming out of the silent ear. Cavalcade was the second most popular film in its day, but today rates just under 60% in approval.

Maleficent 2
on February 27, 2020
Posted by: Deanabear
Verified Purchase:Yes
In Mistress of Evil, Maleficent is found facing a new challenge. In the 5 years after the first film with king Stefan dead, Aurora has reigned as Queen of the Moors, while the new king of Ulstead, John (father of prince Phillip) with his queen Ingrith are still at odds with the fairy kingdom. However, the wedding of Aurora and Phillip is in the making and a celebration feast is to be held in the castle and Maleficent is invited. Unknown to all, the real evil queen is Ingrith, who is having a stock pile of iron weapons being made to war against the fairies. Blinded by love, and lack of discernment, Aurora doesn't listen to the advise of her godmother and the war eventually begins between the 2 kingdoms. A sub-plot of an ancient prophesy reveals what the eventual outcome will be in this epic conflict of good vs. evil. The story is not as good as the first film, but without that information it is still a good fantasy action adventure.

Man From Laramie
By Deanabear
This 1955 James Stewart western was one of the first to be filmed in Cinemascope. The plot has our hero Will Lockhart (Stewart) delivering supplies from Laramie to Coronado, a small remote town in Apache territory. However, his problem isn't with the Indians, but with the son of the autocratic owner of a large ranch outside of town. Will's cavalry brother had been killed in battle, and so he is quietly searching for someone who is selling repeating rifles to the Apaches. During his search a witness is found dead and Will is accused of it as well as stealing by the rancher's son. Things come to a head between the two in a fight for justice. Good Oater!!

The Desperadoes
April 5, 2020
The second film on this DVD is a 1943 Technicolor western stars Randolph Scott who is as a sheriff of a small town and is trying to find out who robbed the bank not knowing that it was an inside job. Cheyenne (Glenn Ford) rides into town having arrived too late to help rob the bank. He's in love with the saloon owner and gets a job breaking broncos at a ranch. The sheriff knows Cheyenne as a friend, but another bank robbery done as a set up to frame Cheyenne and his sidekick to hang. Steve busts him out and is put into jail himself, but is freed by Cheyenne. The two of them than set out to settle the score. An early Glenn Ford western with the role of an anti-hero. An oldie but a goodie.

The essentials to get it all done. Office Home & Student is for students and families who want classic Office apps including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint for Windows 10. A one-time purchase installed on one Windows 10 PC or Mac for use at home or school.

Hi, I recently purchased the latest iPad (7th generation) and need to use word. I noticed that with the word available on the App Store I have to pay a monthly fee. If I made this one time purchase would it work on my iPad? Thanks

I have the Office Home & Student version, which says it is good for 1 PC or 1 Mac and the system requirements, besides Windows 10 for PCs, also says or macOS. If your iPad has the macOS on it, then yes! Ask the store tech guy for a second opinion or go to the Microsoft web site to confirm before you buy.
