Tough drive

I’ve used LaCie Rugged drives for work for years. When it came time to get my wife a working drive to pair with her new MacBook Pro (that has a SSD that is on the small side) I went with what I knew would stand up to the rigors of being stuffed in a bag and pulled out over and over. USB C was also a must to connect to the new computer, but the drive also came with a USB A so getting content onto the drive from her old computer was a snap and no clunky adapter needed.

Got this for our kitchen and paired with my wife’s iPhone with Apple Music. The kids ask Siri to play Disney songs and voila, music! Great sound, content accessible even when a phone isn’t around, useful for adding reminders, calendar events and kitchen timers hands free. My only annoyance was the long cord. Initially I wrapped it around the base, but then built a hollow base that the extra cord could be stored in.

Had been out of the home audio game for a decade after starting our family, but his was a quality and cost effective way to begin to enjoy the sound from our tv again. HDMI connection is the way to go for ease of use with your Samsung TV remote. The center voice channel brings dialogue back and we can actually have the volume up louder after the kids are in bed since the bar sends the sound at us instead of out the back of the tv to bounce off of the wall. The Bluetooth couldn’t be easier to connect to from an iPhone so it is great for music as well. Paired this product with the Samsung Bluetooth rear speaker kit for 5.1 surround sound.

Good for adding some rear sound

These speakers go with the 3.1 Samsung sound bar that I have. When I first set it up there were frequent cut outs on the rear speakers. I attribute this to the Bluetooth connection being unstable. The receiving unit was not far away, but it was on its side (flat) under a couch. This was the best location for it but maybe not the best orientation. I ended up moving it as close as possible to the sound bar (still under the couch) and it now has very consistent performance. The Bluetooth is a convenient feature, but I wish it was a little more powerful of a connection so that the convenience could be fully realized.

I have this on a non-Bluetooth tv and it indeed makes it Bluetooth capable. I have mine hooked up through the optical port, so I just mute the tv and use Bluetooth headphones. You can’t adjust the volume from the tv remote, but this would be able to transmit the audio signal out to Bluetooth headphones or speakers.
