All About Bass

I love the Sony SA CS9. It has wonderful bass for my room (smaller size room downstairs). I was concerened since it was only a 10" but it has performed well with my Polk speakers and Denon receiver. The only thing that is someone annoying is the auto off power save function (you can turn this function off, however, which I have). I am extremely happy with this purchase and I hope to find another sub on sale for my 5.2.2 setup!

I like this center speaker but do not love it. I understand though that it is probably my settings and not the speaker. Currently, I think there is slightly too much bass in the center. If I can dial in my settings I'm sure that this speaker would be even better! For the price I paid ($80) it is a great deal. The speaker is huge too. I have to put my tv on blocks of wood until I get my custom tv stand built. This center is no thin soundbar. I would recommend this speaker.

I am new to building a home theater system but my space is smaller and I saw these speakers go on sale. The bass they can produce would almost let you slide without at sub (if you were in an apartment maybe). These speakers are clear and I have not heard any distortion. I love mine and I would recommend (especially if below $100 each!)

Works Really Well for Narration

My intent on this microphone was to better record voices for narration for movies or short videos for my church. This is a great microphone that worked right out of the box with my mac. It is super heavy and feels like a real quality piece of equipment. I've tried using the three types of recording (Omni, etc) and all seem to work really well. I have not used the supplied software or really tried to edit the recording in post-production. This would work really well for podcasting, interviews, etc. I would recommend!

I am loving the FireCube. It is almost worth the money to just walk downstairs while Im picking up toys and say "Turn on the TV, Play 'The Office' on Netflix" all without looking for where the kids have put the remote. I am, however, already in the Amazon system. I have several Echo devices throughout the house and so I am familiar with what it can and cannot do. I love the video aspect so I can ask for new briefing and it will show me the video clip from whatever news source (instead of just listening to it) and my wife and I love playing the Jeopardy app and seeing the clues! Since it works with the Amazon ecosystem, I can just add my tv to routines, so I say "movie night" and my lights adjust and tv turns on!
The cons: it is slow if you are used to Apple TV. When I want to watch youtube, it always asks me if I want to watch it via the Firefox browser or a different browser, really annoying. I watch Youtube a lot and so I usually flip over to apple tv when doing so. It seems to be early yet and, like their other devices, I can see them putting some really cool updates into the firecube (Like multi room audio, more dedicated apps with video, etc).
Verdict is I really like it (and having an apple tv for many years, I find I use the apple tv a bit less since it is so easy to have Alexa control the videos). I don't think the starting price is bad either (The $200+ for the Echo show is crazy.) If you see this for under $100, Buy it!

Will this use Surround sound that is connected to the tv?
Depends on how you have your tv set up. I have an optical audio cable coming from my tv to surround sound. So any content that is played on my tv will come through surround sound, including Alexa.
I am not sure, however, if you have audio coming out via HDMI if this will work. the FireCube uses a HDMI in so im not sure and different HDMI output would work. I don't know enough about HDMI ARC to know what to say.

When you use it when connected to the tv will the sound come through the surround sound like when you play music and play in the everywhere group when playing music from Amazon prime?
currently it will not play in groups (like the everywhere group) but that may be a software patch that could happen later. When you tv is off, Alexa's voice will come out of the cube speaker and when the tv is off, it will come out of the tv or wherever your audio is. So if your tv runs through a soundbar or surround sound, all sounds will come out of it.
