Probably the best Home Alone will ever look

One has to recognize that Home Alone was shot as a soft film, meaning that ultra crisp resolution just is never going to be there. Overall, the 4K UHD transfer is a nice improvement from the previous blu-rays. The HDR grading does give it a very nice film depth and the Steelbook option is a fitting presentation for this classic sci-fi/action movie.

Nice 4K UHD transfer

I really want to give this a 4.5. Overall, the 4K UHD transfer is a nice improvement from the previous blu-rays. However, there seemed to be a couple spots where the increased detail was lacking a bit from the rest of the movie. These were not optical shots, so I'm not sure why the detail looked off. But otherwise, it looks very nice and the Steelbook option is a fitting presentation for this classic sci-fi/action movie.

This is an excellent transfer to 4K UHD. The detail is noticeably greater than the previous blu-ray and the color grading is excellent. Also, the Steelbook option is a beautiful presentation deserving of this classic in its genre.

Excellent transfer in 4K! There is a noticeable improvement in both detail and color & shadow from the previous blu-ray from several years ago - thanks to Dolby Vision. The Dolby Atmos soundtrack is also a noticeable improvement as well as the soundtrack is now more full and dimensional sounding. It is almost like watching these great films anew!

Enjoy movies and other streaming content with this Sony 4K Blu-ray disc player. Excellent Native 4K and Upscaling Player

I've had this player for several months now and have had an opportunity to watch various 4K UHD discs as well as 1080p Blu-Rays. The player is worth the extra cost over lesser players. The difference is apparent in performance and the upscaling is excellent. Since there are no 4K discs yet of the original Star Trek movies I was curious as to how Star Trek: The Motion Picture would look...in a word, amazing. I was shocked at how well the picture was upscaled by the player and by my Sony 75" 900 series TV. I would definitely recommend the extra cost of this player. It is solidly made and not cheap plastic. After getting a 4K TV and 4K content, you owe it to yourself to play them (and your existing 1080p discs) on a high-end player.

Excellent 5.2 Option Home Theater Receiver

Our house has 18-foot ceilings and, frankly, overhead speakers are not a practical option. So, I decided to stick with a 5.2 receiver but wanted one that was 4K Ultra HD / Dolby Vision & Atmos (at least for decoding the higher-quality audio) / DTX compatible. This Sony fit the bill quite nice. It has 4K pass through and Sony is good with firmware updates to keep it current. The wattage per channel is just fine and it does have adjustments for increasing the output per channel, important if you have a subwoofer with active on - as this keeps enough signal to the subwoofer to keep it from going to 'sleep' continuously during lengthy dialogue scenes. Paired with our new Sony 75" 4K TV, we are enjoying movies on a whole new level.

For a budget subwoofer, no complaints

First off, know what you are and are not getting for this price point. It is a 10" subwoofer with relatively low wattage, not a 12" subwoofer with high RMS wattage. That said, my 15-year old JBL subwoofer finally quit and I needed a new subwoofer without wanting to upgrade the whole system just yet. I was a little reluctant to get this based on the 10" woofer and low RMS, but decided it might be OK for the short-term. I have to say, I was impressed that it comes with a crossover feature to help fit in to your existing speakers and, frankly, the RMS is adequate for my listening, even in a larger room with 18-foot ceilings. I don't care about seat-rattling bass but do demand solid bass in the mix. In short, this subwoofer delivers bass at a reasonable level and, perhaps more importantly, within the correct sonic range with the included crossover adjustments. At its usual price point, I would recommend without hesitation.
