Bought these for my kid for online chat playing Fortnite with me and his brother. Long story short the audio was very spotty. We had to change the usb port a few times per day to try and resolve the audio cutting in and out. Ultimately returned them.

I’ve owned a 75 inch Sony Z9D and multiple Sony OLED tvs. I can say confidently that this is a step up from the Sony Z9D. This is in fact the first TV that Zohnny has released since the Z9D that I would consider an upgrade over that set. While the contrast is not as good as all lead, and there is some minor blooming occasionally visible, this TV does get brighter than the Z9D did and the contrast is better and the color volume is much higher. The local dimming is probably as good as the Z9D, the Z9D might have a slight advantage but it’s not significant if it exists at all. However, potential buyers should note that the 85 inch which ion performs significantly better than the 65 inch and 75 inch because it has a completely different panel with much better native contrast and the local dimming performs much better.

This is not hyperbolic, but the Sony X 93L is literally the same exact TV as the X 95K from last year. The only difference is the model number and the cost is higher. Save yourself a few hundred dollars and pick up last year‘s X 95K. The 85 inch performs significantly better than the 65 and 75 inch because these different panel types and the 85 inch version uses a panel with much higher native contrast in the blooming control is significantly better on the 85 inch

Some people might be confused about what exactly this tv is...I originally thought they gave a special model designation to the 85 in X90J....Nope. This is last year's 900H with a different model number. Sony literally changed nothing...but the model number. The 900H was such a dissapointment that Sony is hoping by repackaging it they'll be able to sell off the remaining stock...Sony, how about you actually try to make a decent LCD...The z9d was the last time you really tried. 32 dimming zones?...That's a joke and that's what you get with this 85 inch tv...32 dimming zones. I hope you love blooming...

Forget that Linksys or Netgear even exists and get

I have had a frustrating few years with my home network. We moved into a large tri-level house and for logistical reasons my main router has to be in my basement office. So we had issues with some dead spots around the house on the middle floor and upstairs. Linksys had just put out their velop mesh system and although they were expensive I assumed it would work well. I was wrong those things were a nightmare. They would constantly reboot themselves and when the main one rebooted the client nodes oftentimes refused to reconnect without manual intervention. I bought a Linksys wireless router that had mesh capabilities thinking that if I replaced the main velop node with an actual router it would work better. I was wrong, the Linksys router would constantly reboot itself as well. So I switched to a Netgear Nighthawk router and Nighthawk range extender. I had some issues an issue getting the range extender to pair with the router but eventually I got it working and it was great for about 2 months only requiring reboots about once a week or once every other week which isn't that bad for wireless routers. But Netgear sent a firmware update and it ruined everything. The range extender would constantly lose connection to the 5 gigahertz Network. Even after rolling back to the previous firmware it was constantly dropping connection to the 5 gigahertz Network. Every single morning I would come downstairs and the 5 gigahertz light on the extender was off. Crazy frustrating. So I bought two of these Asus Routers and put one in normal router mode and the other in mesh node mode. It has been over two weeks and I haven't had a single connection issue. These things are bulletproof, the app is fantastic. Both the Linksys and the Netgear apps were awful. This is easily the best Wi-Fi router mesh system I have ever owned. And I would highly recommend this. I would recommend nobody ever Buy Linksys or Netgear again. Especially Netgear, they only offer tech support for 90 days. If you need help after that you have to pay for it or submit a warranty exchange. If you go the route of the warranty exchange they email you a code and give you twenty-four hours to call their tech support and give them that code. I waited on hold for 90 minutes two times within that 24 hour. And nobody ever answered the phone. After 24 hours if you don't call them and give them that code they cancel your request. Criminal

When the router works it's pretty good. Their setup app is AWFUL and even the browser UI is terrible...But anyone who thought Netgear was a great company is dead wrong. They recently sent out a firmware update to my router which makes staying connected to my expensive Netgear Nighthawk EX R8000 Range Extender impossible. What's worse, they only give you free tech support for 90 days. You want them to help you beyond that? Pay for it...Also if you have an issue you can open a warranty claim but you have to call in to their tech support within 24 hours after opening the support case and they have LEGENDARY wait times and then when you get someone on the phone the call "disconnects" If you don't play their game, they cancel the warranty request...This company is garbage and they should be sued. NEVER EVER buy Netgear

Replaced a 10 year old Maytag fridge that had a failing ice maker. I like this fridge. Our old fridge had a middle drawer that was kind of pointless (or so I thought) This one has no middle drawer but I realize now the middle drawer is convenient. You have to open up both doors to pull open the hidden middle drawer inside.

I only write reviews if something is amazing or terrible. I am a firm believer that you don't need to spend a lot on cables. HDMI, subwoofer, speaker wire, etc...But this cable is pure garbage. There is virtually 0 shielding. This cable caused a hum to come out of both the subwoofer it was attached to and the other subwoofer connected to my receiver. Best Buy's other options are outrageously priced. You're better off getting something affordable and with some kind of shielding on Amazon...

I have owned many 75 inch Sony tvs. 940d, 940e, 900e. The 940d was my first Sony and I fell in love instantly. Very good motion handling, very good local dimming, everything about it was awesome. But it had a single vertical band right in the center of the screen that I couldn't ignore. Upgraded to a 940e and it had an incredible picture but there was major trailing on any motion and I couldn't live with it so I sent it back and went with a 900e. Excellent motion and everything looked great. There was some pretty major blooming especially with HDR material but some bias lighting made it almost invisible. But I got a great deal on a z9d (the one I always wanted) and man, it blows them all away. The motion is not quite as smooth as on the 900e but WAY better than the 940e. No trailing at all. Just a little bit of smearing in certain scenes when you have something dark traveling across a light background. But it's not a huge deal by any stretch of the means and I am super sensitive to motion issues. The 75 in has a different panel than the 65 inch and the pixel response is faster. Local dimming is amazing. Even on a brightness level of 15 out of 50 I find my self squinting on some SDR content. HDR is incredible. With the current price drop, this is the 75 in to get. Especially if you like 3d, this set does awesome 3d, there is some flicker but it's not too bad.

Different panels
November 27, 2018
@JET83 This is hard to believe. I would like to see the source as I have owned a 940e and the reported pixel response time of the 65 z9d and 940e are very similar. The pixel response time on the 75 z9d has 0 trailing even with a dark object on a light background and the 940e exhibited TONS of trailing. These were not examples I had seen somewhere but tvs that i owned and had in my own home and was able to do lots of testing.

Different panels is not uncommon
November 28, 2018
@JET83 Differnt panels is not all that uncommon for different size screens even within the same models. Example- The Sony 850c had a VA panel on all screen sized except 75 which was an IPS panel The Visio M series in 2016 had a 120hz panel for all screen sizes except the 55 which was a 60hz panel. I asked you for a source citing that Sony confirmed that they used the same panel between sizes and your response was all the YouTube reviews said the same thing. I have given you 2 motion test videos on YouTube which clearly show a difference and in the comments section you can see the one with the trailing is a 65 and they state the 75 has a faster panel, and in the video with almost no trailing you can see it is a 75 and in the comments section you can see that there are owners of the 65 that also confirm a little bit of trailing.
I would like to ask the folks at best buy who review these comments before you decide to post them to allow the discussion between @JET83 and myself as I believe this is an important discussion to read for perspective owners as clearly the panels are different between the 65 and 75 in variants of the Sony z9d.

Input lag and pixel response are not the same
December 29, 2018
@JET83 You're confusing pixel response and input lag. 2 different things my man. Pixel response is how long it takes the pixels to transition from one color to another, not how long it takes to react to input...You are dead wrong on this. TVs have different panels for different sizes all the time. IT's well known that the 65 and 75 have different response times. Read the AVSforums. Look at the rtings review. The 65 has a similar response time as the 940e which also had widely reported motion issues. I'm not sure what else I can tell you other than you are wrong and the panels are indeed different. You may not notice anything but that doesn't mean the panels aren't different.

Different panels
January 2, 2019
You are a liar just like rtings. You said Sony confirmed the 2 had different panels. I asked you for proof and you gave nothing. You are a troll and trolling right now. Again, it is not uncommon for different size tvs to have different panels. Some of Vizios panels are 60hz and 120hz for the same model but different sizes. The Sony 850c used a VA panel for every screen size except the 75 which was IPS.
You don't own a 75 so by your own logic you would have no idea. There are too many examples out there of the 65 in having a slower pixel response than the 75. Did you even look at the 2 YouTube links in my prior comment? I do believe rtings has a hard on for OLEDs, but the numbers they use in their measurements are not made up and do line up with user experience.
We can put an end to this debate right now if you provide a source where Sony said the panels of the 2 sizes are the same. If you cannot produce that, you admit to lying and the discussion is over. Have a nice day.

I am a part of that forum dude...And all shark said is that there's no motion problems (for him) I never said the 65 was bad, just that the 75 has a different panel. Spend some more time reading through the forum. You'll find a few owners that have a 75 and 65 that will verify that. I have been on the forum for a long time. You still never posted where Sony verified that they use the same panels...Because they never did.

Returned for LG C9
ByDewey
Had this tv for two weeks, excellent picture quality, excellent upscaling, ok operating system, HDMI 2.0, dim Dolby Vision: The main reason I returned this tv was because every time I turned the eARC on the tv would go into standby mode, black screen with Bravia logo, I found one other person on the AVS forum that had the same problem. I contacted Sony and they could not help, the geek squad came to the house and they could not solve, I even did a factory reset and that didn’t work. The only way I could watch tv without it going into standby was to turn eARC to off. I have an eARC compatible sound bar so I wanted this feature to work, for what I paid for this tv I expected everything to work, so I decided to exchange for the 77’ LG C9. Best Buy was excellent, this was a return/exchange/upgrade, they came and removed the the AG9 and set up the C9, I also purchased Tech Support for one year as well as the five year extended warranty. The C9 is an excellent tv, the picture quality and the upscaling aren’t as good as the Sony, but very close, in my opinion. The C9 also has HDMI 2.1 and the eARC works flawlessly with my sound bar, love the C9 operating system too. I think the Sony A9G is an excellent tv, I just happened to get a defective panel, I also think their Dolby Vision is dim, the C9 is brighter.

Is eARC necessary?
May 19, 2020
Is there a particular reason you "have" to use eARC? Do you have all of your devices plugged into the TV and just a single cable running to the sound bar? Does your sound bar allow for inputs to connect to it. The reason I ask is that because the ONLY advantage of eARC over standard ARC is that you can transmit lossless Dolby Atmos vs Lossy Dolby Atmos. Streaming services do not use lossless. So unless you have to have all your external devices plugged directly into the TV rather than into your soundbar you don't need eARC. Also, you have a sound bar. It's highly unlikely you'd be able to tell the difference between lossy and lossless Atmos with a soundbar. I have a soundbar as well - Nakamichi Shockwafe. Best Atmos sound bar you can buy. Can't tell much of a difference...

Why has Sony not abandoned X Wide Angle? The hit to contrast and blooming might be worth it if it massively improved viewing angles, but it barely improves them. Please abandon it. All I own are Sony tvs, but I haven't bought a new one in years.
