Been a Trek fan most of my life, so when it was announced all the movies would be cpming to 4k, i was excited. That soon faded when i found out that the only title to receive a true 4k remaster was The Motion Picture. Don't bother with these copies, stick with the blu rays for the rest of the movies.

Great picture transfer to 4k, but the picture is stretched to full screen from its native 4:3, which means some of the picture is lost. Could have upgraded to surround, only having a 2.0 audio track. Still worth the purchase.

I've been a fan of this movie since childhood and I've owned it on practically every format it has been available on. This version is ok, but the "blue Mars" during the opening tour of the planets was a deal breaker. From what I understand, this is the same disc included with the earlier release alongside When Worlds Collide. If you want the ultimate version of WOTW, pick up the Criterion blu ray....a far better version than this with more special features as well.

BB says they're in stock but when you order, it gives you a pick up date which is in no way reliable. Mine was due to be picked up last Friday and it still says its delayed. Also the delay email came with a disclaimer...if it can't be fulfilled by December 30th, the order will be canceled.
