Almost as good as the first

The John Wick movies serve as modern day samurai films. Going to extremes in the name of honor or respect, doesn’t get much more Japanese than that.
Though like the 2nd one, the third film doesn’t recapture the emotional intensity from the original. However excellent performances all around, truly excellent fight scenes make it an absolute must watch. And the overall theme of ‘consequences’ is a mature lesson Americans could use right now.

Wolfenstein the movie

As a long time Halloween fan, it feels weird to say that this movie truly makes 2-8 completely irrelevant.. and I couldn’t be happier about it lol. It’s a far worthier follow up than any of the sequels or crappy remakes.

My only complaint is that Netflix on it won’t do HDR.

It’s a pretty standard prequel in that it tells a story we’ve mostly already guessed, brings nothing new to the table and basically admits as much. White haired men are the bad guys, so it is however the most on-the-noes relevant Purge movie. Disc looks and sounds perfect.

It’s just a bland movie. Everything that happens in it is like going down a check list. Kessel run check, meet Chewie check, meet Lando(a man of exquisite tastes.. capes), win the Falcon.. oh but it’s tricky cuz you don’t know WHEN he’ll win it. Oh and it’s shot way too dark.

I’ve seen this movie countless times, on vhs, then laserdisc and DVD. This is far and away the best it’s ever looked and sounded. The Atmos track is amazingly aggressive for a movie from 1983 without feeling overly gimmicky.
