Easily one of the best collections of B-Sides ever (debatably better than Oasis’ Masterplan). In fact, when revisiting their albums, the band themselves wish they had included some of these songs on them. Perhaps at the time some songs seemed too “weird” for inclusion, but over the years that weirdness became regarded as Suede’s calling card. Essential listening for Suede fans.

Great songs, so-so sound

I think this is a great collection of songs by the band, IMHO their best album since Amorica. It’s a very loose affair: the band knocks out the tunes in the studio before a small audience. The end result, however, has the band sacrificing both the clarity found on a studio recording and the raucous energy featured on most live albums. I enjoy the album, but the sound of it can be frustrating in spots. I’d recommend it to a Crowes fan, but I’d also warn them it can get a little rough.

Recorded following Bowie's move to West Berlin after a period of drug addiction and personal instability, Low became the first of three collaborations with musician Brian Eno and producer Tony Visconti, later termed the Berlin Trilogy.
