One of the best films of the year! Past Lives pulsates with longing and clings to nostalgic notes of younger selves that slipped away. Highly relatable, for anyone that has felt the pangs of heartache and the what ifs life inevitably asks oneself.

Ben Affleck directs yet another tour de force achievement! Air, chronicles the rise of the nike "Air Jordan" empire, with accurate nostalgia and interesting characters. The acting is stellar with Viola Davis giving a stunning portrayal as Jordans mother. A must own feel good film!
As 7-year-old adoptee Wen (Kristen Cui) enjoyed a getaway at a rural Pennsylvania cabin with her dads (Jonathan Groff, Ben Aldridge), their idyll was interrupted by the break-in of four armed intruders. The understandable fear would escalate as the strangers insisted that the whole planet faced imminent apocalypse... that could only be halted if the family sacrificed one of their own. M. Night Shyamalan's unnerving opus co-stars Dave Bautista, Rupert Grint, Nikki Amuka-Bird, Abby Quinn. Widescreen; Soundtrack English.

M. Night Shamalayn has defied audiences with his unexpected psychological twists. So much so that over the past several years his movies have become antiquated and quite often boring. Im happy to report that Knock At The Cabin is not that film. Its a semi return to form with intense pacing, great characterization, and an interesting albeit been there seen that plot. Its not as good as Sixth Sense or Signs but it definitely ranks in the higher echelon of his filmography.

Cate Blanchett is marvelous in this once in a lifetime role. Tar is a character study on the abuses of power and the consequences that come along with those abuses. Complex, intriguing, and absolutely impeccable. Wonderfully directed and the cinematography is phenomenal.

Overbearing foodie Tyler (Nicholas Hoult) whisked unimpressed last-minute date Margot (Anya Taylor-Joy) to an exclusive, $1250-a-head seating at the island bistro of imperious celebrity chef Julian Slowik (Ralph Fiennes). As the evening progresses, though, it becomes apparent that the cunning culinarian will be serving his one-percenter patrons courses of mental and physical cruelty-culminating with just desserts. Savory satirical suspenser also stars Hong Chau, John Leguizamo, Janet McTeer, Judith Light. 107 min. Widescreen; Soundtrack English.

The Menu is a fast paced and slick modern thriller, full of current thought provoking topics on wealth and inequality in todays society. The cast is phenomenal and the directing is top notch. A must see!
In the not too distant future, science will allow mankind to meet environmental decay through a process that allows humans to spontaneously grow new, adaptive bodily organs. Few have embraced this as aggressively as performance artist Saul Tenser (Viggo Mortensen)-who generates and removes parts for appreciative fans-but he'll find the bill coming due. David Cronenberg's back-to-basics body-horror opus co-stars L~a Seydoux, Kristen Stewart, Scott Speedman, Tanaya Beatty. 107 min. Widescreen; Soundtrack English.

Cronenberg knocks it out of the park yet again with his latest outing, Crimes of the Future. In a future where no one feels pain anymore....surgery has become the new form of underground entertainment.
The world building in this film is absolutely magnificent and the acting is top notch. A must see for any David Cronenburg fan or if you are into body horror.
For nine years, life for Ellis French (Jeremy Pope) consisted of shelters and the streets after he came out to his conservative corrections guard mother (Gabrielle Union) at 16. Enlisting in the Marines as a means of proving himself, the rigors of boot camp became that much more amplified as he tried to keep the truth of his sexuality under guard. Documentarian Elegance Bratton drew on his own life experience for this powerful narrative bow; Bokeem Woodbine, Ra~l Castillo co-star. 100 min. Widescreen; Soundtrack English.

The Inspection is a must see indie drama about a young man's exploration of self, against a fractured familial bond. Jeremy Pope and Gabrielle Union are absolute gems. A must see.
Jersey art school grad Emily Benetto (Aubrey Plaza) came to L.A. with $70K in college debt and an assault on her record. Against the odds, she found a way to make ends meet-by falling in with a credit card fraud ring, making big-ticket purchases on stolen plastic and reselling the merchandise. As she cozies up to her InchsupervisorInch (Theo Rossi), she'll find out it's a gig where you kind of can't give your notice. Intense study also stars Gina Gershon, Megalyn Echikunwoke, Bernardo Badillo. 93 min. Widescreen; Soundtrack English.

Emily the Criminal is a highly effective slick yet gritty crime thriller. Aubrey Plaza is outstanding as the titular character. A career best. It's paced extremely well and directed brilliantly. This film was one of the biggest surprises of 2022. A must see.

Nope, Jordan Peele’s third directorial outing, is bold, suspenseful, and enormously entertaining. I found this film to be the most rewatchable film of his, with hints of Spielberg and Hitchcock. A brillant and fun ride. A must see!
