A fantastic remaster that buries the old jagged Blu-ray edition. Lush colors, warm tones in places, and a beautiful filmic presentation altogether! Any softness is inherent in the photography as director Wes Craven was forced to fire the main Cinematographer after much of the footage appeared out of focus.

With this being my favorite movie, it was a crushing disappointment at how poorly it came off in this UHD format. It was far too dark and almost murky, draining a lot of color and highlights from a usually pleasing and at times gorgeous film. I was not happy with this release at all.

The specialty aspect of this box set is getting the unrated cut of Live Free or Die Hard, which has only been available on DVD before. Very nice to have that complete the collection, and the added digital copies is a great thing on top of that. All the other discs are the same as they've ever been, but all feature very good presentations of each film.

As much of a good film as this is, I feel as if 4K upgrades of most Marvel Studios films are typically underwhelming. The HDR grading doesn't enhance the contrast or colors very much, and most are 2K upscales. Granted, you do see some added details here and there, but it's all minor things overall. It's far from a bad presentation, but it's not a massive upgrade over the 1080p release.
