I saw this was written (at least in part) by John Sayles, so I took a chance and bought one. It is not quite my kind of movie, but I don't regret getting it. The video is excellent, very filmic, with very nice colors thanks to an excellent DolbyVision capture. Audio is good, nothing spectacular in the soundtrack or anything, but audio is clear and clean.

The movie is a lot of fun, with older effects that might have been overly processed to produce a 4K version. But the video is excellent here, VERY filmic rather than processed in any way to look smooth/waxy. It's definitely a film of color where the HDR capture really shines. Audio is also excellent.

Excellent vampire movie with an 80s feel, that is not mired in the 80s, but actually gives it a weird and creepy atmosphere. The video is excellent, I detect a bit of processing to smooth the image, but it's more or less minor (not as much as 80s era Goonies 4K). The audio is excellent, all in all an excellent presentation of this film that is respectfully filmic.

Having a personal interest, I was pleased with this movie. I think even casual watchers will like it, and even find it more accessible than than the previous movies. The steelbook is very nice and attractive. The 4K video is excellent, as is the audio, both are extremely well done with no extra processing marring the image/audio.
The one-time bane of nearly every critic in America, the blood-soaked first film in the franchise has gone on to cult classic status. Decades after the drowning death of adolescent Jason Voorhees and the barn murders of a pair of young lovers, scenic Camp Crystal Lake reopens. Now the place is crawling with campers and young, naive, S*x-hungry counselors... and a maniacal killer! And just what is the deal with this Jason kid? Adrienne King, Betsy Palmer, Kevin Bacon, Ari Lehman star. 95 min. Widescreen; Soundtracks English Dolby TrueHD 5.1, Dolby Digital mono, French Dolby Digital mono, Spanish Dolby Digital mono; Subtitles English (SDH), French, Spanish; audio commentary; featurettes; behind-the-scenes footage.

I had never seen this movie, it was not what I was expecting, and I did in fact enjoy it (despite not really caring for "slasher" movies). The video is a bit difficult to give a definitive assessment. The highlights are over-done unless your TV limits the nit level (e.g. an OLED, on mine it looks very good). But otherse are getting overblown highlights, and with good reason. There is no black crush like with Wolf of Wall Street, so the film will be dark but you can still see detail. So overall looks very good on my OLED but LCD works less well. Otherwise audio is excellent, and for my set-up I'm pleased, but other set-ups you may not see an optimal video presentation.
Although time travel has been outlawed in the year 2074, criminal organizations still use it to dispose of their enemies, sending them back 30 years where they're eliminated by contract killers called loopers. In 2044, a looper named Joe Simmons (Joseph Gordon-Levitt) realizes that his latest target is his older self (Bruce Willis) who means to carry out a hit of his own. Mindbending sci-fi actioner also stars Emily Blunt, Paul Dano, Piper Perabo, Jeff Daniels. 119 min. Widescreen; Soundtrack English. Two-disc set.

Great movie with excellent 4K UHD+DolbyVision scan

I haven't seen this movie since it was released, and this new 4K scan was excellent. The disc has DolbyVision (HDR), and ONLY the disc as the streaming version is merely SDR. This elevates the UHD scan immensely, capturing those extra colors in spectacular way that you can't get from the streaming version. Audio was also excellent, sounding great on my 5.1 system, with excellent bass and crisp and clear dialogue.
With his wife requiring a six-figure surgery, veteran William Sharp (Yahya Abdul-Mateen II) saw no other out than to join his career criminal adoptive brother Danny (Jake Gyllenhaal) on a brazen bank heist. When the job went sideways, they opted to carjack an ambulance for escape-and found unwilling passengers in an EMT (Eiza Gonzalez) and the very cop they wounded. Michael Bay's nail-biting redo of a 2005 Danish thriller co-stars Garret Dillahunt, A Martinez, Devan Long. Widescreen; Soundtrack English.

I generally avoid Michael Bay movies but I really enjoyed this one, it is more along the lines of The Rock than his vapid Transformer movies. The 4K video is excellent, the DolbyVision works really well for this movie, as is the audio, it was really impressive in my 5.1 system, with plenty of bass but not over-wrought, dialogue is crisp and clear.

This movie was pretty silly, but that said, excellent popcorn fare, well done in that respect. Fun to watch President Harrison Ford kick terrorist butt. The scan is top-notch, very nice film-like colors, some film grain but not overwhelming. Audio is also excellent, ran it through my system at 5.1 and sounds great, 7.1 would be even better I assume.

Generally good movie, fun to watch, with excellent work by Christopher Plummer. A bit fanciful, borderline fluff, but well done and does have some substance. Film scan is very good, generally excellent, audio just fine.

I had to get a new phone and they aren't built with housing that is very durable, so got lucky and found this during Black Friday. I find it ridiculous that I need to buy extra casing for a fairly expensive phone that should be durable when I buy it. Nonetheless, this product in and of itself is very nice. Feels very durable, sticks to my hand, I've gone from being worried about dropping my phone to not worrying about what will happen every second I am touching my phone. Simple design and product, but oddly satisfying and useful.
