Most useful smart product in my home

I go for a lot of runs and dog walks where I don't want to fiddle with keys. This makes it easy to be able to punch in and out of my house with a code or unlock the door from my phone.
It's also got a nice logging feature where everyone accessing the door can have their own unique code and the app will show you who unlocked the door at what times.
The install was more finicky than I would've liked, and I needed to adjust the door ever-so-slightly in order for the lock to set correctly without a little tug on the handle but it works well now.

Good entry level device

The Nest Thermostat E does basically everything the Gen 3 Nest can do. I believe the only notable feature missing is the ability to show other displays (clocks, weather, etc).
This is still the same interface that appears identically in the Nest app, but at a much more digestible price point.
I've actually had a few Nest users see mine and mistake it for a more premium version of what they have.

I was one of the early adopters of Alexa when Amazon first launched their smart product line. I used it religiously for about 2 years... until I tried Google's smart products.
I started out just adding this in our bathroom so I could voice-activate some music in the shower, hoping the sound quality was good enough to carry over the glass. This thing packs a punch for the price and was a cinch to set up.
Now I've fully migrated from Alexa/Ring products to Google/Nest because of how intuitive everything is and how well-supported the products are.

I just had my heating coil die shortly after moving into my new house (the previous occupant never cleaned out the duct so I suspect the coil had been working too hard for too long to save it).
I've had a wonderful Samsung dryer. I've had a terrible Samsung dryer. I read a lot of reviews and settled on LG as good value for being near the top of the ratings in every category while not being overly expensive.
This one has a very cool feature in that you can open the door regularly, or push the latch at the top of the door and fold it down. I've found this latter option to be easier to load wet laundry as the door is there to catch anything you drop.
I also really appreciate getting a notification to my phone when the cycle is done.
I look forward to seeing how far my electric bill comes down now that my ducts are clean and I have an energy-efficient dryer to do the job.

This is a necessary evil when replacing a washer. I would recommend never to stick with the hoses from your old machine and if you're just looking for a more dependable upgrade on your current hoses, stainless steel is the way to go. Don't overthink it.

Huge upgrade from a Samsung

I recently had a Samsung front-load washer that I just couldn't deal with cleaning any longer. This LG is a huge departure from that.
There are a few things that are must-haves in any washer for me and I think this ticks all of the boxes; top-loading, no agitator, spacious, stays clean, and has an easy to use interface.
The bonus was finding out I can get a phone notification when my wash cycle is done. I keep the door to the laundry room closed as I often have both machines going simultaneously. The notification is pretty cool because I otherwise don't hear the song it plays when it's done.

I made a huge gaffe doing some DIY near my Gen 1 Nest thermostat, causing it to fall off the wall and shatter, thus creating a need for a replacement.
Easy choice to go with the updated Nest. This one is slightly smaller than previous efforts, but equally easy to use.
We have ours interfaced with Alexa and set up some routines so it can accept verbal commands to change the temperature.
I enjoy the monthly emails detailing my energy use and how it compares to my neighbors.

Great bang for your buck

I've had this TV for 6+ months now and it's been the primary TV in my house, outpacing my ~4 year old Samsung LED.
This is a great intro package to 4K programming and super easy to use. Most of the apps you can think of are built right into the Roku platform and the response time is extremely snappy.
If I had one complaint, it's that there's only 3 HDMI ports, but then again, I believe that's the case with most sets today.
