Unfortunately this is another Arlo product that was not ready to be released when it was. I have a need for this type of system so decided I would try since I already have a number of Arlo and Arlo Pro cameras. This seemed to work fairly well for the first three days but now it is useless because no one that I have spoken to at AT&T has any idea of what I am talking about when I try to activate the SIM card. So basically I got to use the 15 minutes of data that was included and now the camera is inoperable. I have contacted AT&T via a number of methods and no one has helped. Arlo support is also no help. It sounds like no one at Arlo is aware of how the Arlo Go works and they have no idea of how their own data service plans operate. They continue to ask me about the base station that the Arlo Go is connected to (which this camera does not use) and they tell me I have no data left when it clearly shows that I have used 0 out of 120 minutes that I am paying for.
I have pages of notes in front of me regarding the many people I have spoken to and chatted with online, but to no avail.
Very frustrating. Although I do have a need for this type of system, Arlo will not be the one. It will be going back before my return period ends this week.
Think twice before purchasing. This one is simply not ready to be out on the market yet.

Try Arlo Go Verizon

I had to take back the ATT option of the Arlo Go for the same reasons you mentioned but I gave it another try, and bought the Verizon option and I love it! Verizon is shaky on tech support for this camera but they go look for the information and actually help. By the way, I do not work for Verizon I only have great service with them. I do not work for Arlo either. The camera quality is great! The Arlo Go does not need the base station but the other models of Arlo cameras will. I am about to purchase a package of 4 Arlo Pro cameras with base station included. I will be plugging my newly purchased Arlo base station into a mini surge protector with battery backup. I hope this information helps.

This monitor is not cheap but worth every penny. I love it and highly recommend it. The only thing I still can't figure out is if it has sound. My surface sure thinks it has sound but no sound ever comes out of it.

How long after a sensor is tripped before the siren goes off 10 seconds 30 seconds? And can the time delay before the siren goes off be customized?
You can customize the delay settings for the entry sensors. You can customize whether you receive an alert or whether the alarm will sound. If you have a sensor set to sound the alarm, the siren will sound immediately after activity is detected.

Does the base unit come with a siren and if so-does anyone know how load it is?? They sell a separate siren rated at 105 Decibels and label it as an "extra" siren, but no where here or on the SimpliSafe site do I see a siren mentioned in the base.
The base station is also a siren and it is about 85dBs. You can purchase additional sirens which are about 105dBs each.

The house is in the country and wifi is not available will it work without wifi
SimpliSafe works without WiFi. However having WiFi is recommendated to enhance the signal if the base station is positioned far from the senors. WiFi is also recommended as a backup to the cellular connection that the base system uses.
