Flawed for sure but one of my favorites

Let’s get it out of the way, the writing can get cheesy at times, the story jams a lot of events that takes place over 3 volumes in the manga into one 2 hour film. But the CGI and performance of Alita, done by Rosa Salazar are fantastic. You’re able to connect with this virtual character almost instantly, and are introduced to this fascinating world through her eyes. The action sequences, especially the motorball one, are some of the best of the year and stand up with the best action scenes in the past 5 years.

Almost there

While better than it’s predecessor it does have an issue of introducing character actions then abandoning them at the halfway point, this is mostly just from Tony Stark’s PTSD from the events of the first Avengers film. It’s a cool story to tell, how a hero deals with the aftermath of an event, but it’s gone the last half of the film.

Fantastic entrance

Probably out of all the phase 1 marvel movies, Iron Man is the one that ages the best and could be compared to the ones coming out today. Robert Downey Jr. does a fantastic job as Tony Stark and Jon almost directing some sequences as a documentary.

Probably the most Shakespearian take on Thor, not too surprising since it’s directed by Kenneth Branagh. Entertaining and has some really great character moments, especially with Loki. But definitely a phase 1 marvel movie where they were still trying to find the right spot for big blockbuster comic movies.

Still a dead rising game but...

It feels less than the previous games, in the very first one you could interact with most of the environment. Most of the items literally wouldn’t viable for facing on the horde of zombies but it lended itself to how real that world felt. And while in this game you can only pick up stuff that will actually help you fight zombies/heal yourself it feels that something was lost in a sequel when the first game came out over 10 years ago. The game is also quite easy, I didn’t really mind since mindlessly killing zombies in different ways is all I’m here for.

While I’ve always really liked Michael Bay’s movies I’ve always approached them as they were and wasn’t disappointed. 13 Hours though isn’t the standard fare for Bay though and he does a wonderful job in this movie. The performances, tension and score throughout are fantastic as well.
